I repot my peace Lilly a week and a half ago. It didn't go through shock as far as I could tell, it didn't droop or get worse. It's slowed down but it's also getting colder. It was a new plant I got. I let it get acclimated before I changed anything. Wasn't intending on buying one but felt bad for it at the nursery when I saw it so I'm trying to do better. It was a tiny one. It had crispy leaves and even flowers tips went brown. It was also in a ridiculously small pot despite being the smallest peace lily have seen. Think they kept it too dry or gave it too much water. Probably both at different stages but I'm thinking more often it was too dry. These plants scare me because if you water it incorrectly as in too much its hard to get it back healthy. I also pot mine in a terracotta pot will probably see how much it grows again once Winter is over and repot it if it's outgrown the pot.
I have a 22 year old peace lily im taking care of for my mamaw. it’s about 4 times the size of the one in the video and I really want to split it but I have no idea how and i’m terrified 😭 thank you for the potting and caring tips 💕
Hello, If you want to split up your plant look for natural sections in the plant itself where you could break it up and pot each section into its own pot. :) I hope that helps Corbin
@@PlantBasics it does thank you! I actually talked to my sister after commenting this and she said the same thing 😂 apparently she helped last time it needed split. I wish I knew how many peace lily’s are floating around in my family that originated from this one.
Do you have any video or tip what to do and how to care about Peace Lilly in winter time? The soil is turning into white and the leaves and getting yellow and brown and dying simply. Probably the heating makes the air dry which is not good for Peace Lilly, I just do not have any idea how to create TROPICAL environment..
my Peace Lily is 2 feet tall from brim of pot very full and green and its in a plastic pot with many flowers growing. I have no clue how I will repot this plant, I would need 4 hands to that haha.... I wish I could find a video that shows a large plant like mine and how to repot it. I live alone so I would have to do this myself
It depends on the PH and salt content of the well water you are using, it could be that there are too many salts in the water and it could be causing the leaves of your plant to be browning. Where are you keeping your plant? Corbin
What is the solution if Peace Lilly's leaves are hanging down? Is it root rot? Or too much water? or too less water? Or nutrient solution is missing? Thank you for your helpful answer in advance, great videos, shows your professional qualities.
Hello, so it could be two things if the medium is dry then it's underwatering, if the medium is too wet it could be root rot. It generally will not be a lack of nutrients. I hope this helps Corbin
@@PlantBasics Thank you for your response, I have just recognize it now.. since then all Peace Lilly (small + medium + Domino) are saved and shining.-.) I got new problem with them: the top of the soil around the root are turning into white, like stone..
Possibly, depends on what 'multi-purpose' is. you need something that will drain well and not become too compacted over time which will lead to root rot. I think you might need to repot it into other media :) Corbin
Hello, thanks so much for your comment. I have a very big one in a 40cm pot that I water regularly. for me watering is really dependent on the light you keep your plant in, in bright light your plant will require more water. Also if your plant is slightly pot-bound it will require more water. So I can safely say about once a week. I hope this helps Corbin
Very informative video! Giving my peace lily a new pot today. Thank you!
Such a pleasure :) I'm so glad you found it useful.
A personalized video 😍 You rock! My peace lilies thank you!
:)
So to the point. Now off to replant. Main take way was to ease into increasing my pot size. Thx so much.
Glad it was helpful!

I use well water and was wondering if it is bad for my Peace lily because there is a bunch of browning on my big leafs.

How often do you water your peace lily? Mines like 2-3x bigger and my goodness is it a thirsty girl lol
