Cool video thank you :) I have been using F6P from Apr 2021. I was wondering about this maximum GPS 36 hours activity. In my case I had a 100 % battery & 36 hours GPS estimated. Then I ran for 1 hour and estimated life span of battery decreased to 33 hours. With this battery drain ratio the GPS is going to function only for 12 hours which might be too risky to take for 100km ultrarun. In your case the real usage follows the estimated values ? Regards from Poland :)
@@RunWithMyDog I've been using the maps for mountain biking and trail running. Really useful. I mostly carry my phone for music but have tested the spotify sync and phone free music with the fenix 6 pro and it works really well.
This channel must be seriously one of the most under-rated hidden gems! So glad I found you (thank you, RUclips algorithm, haha). Only 326 subscribers? Man, you deserve a million subscribers! Keep up the great work and you'll get there :)
2023 and STILL all you need. Super battery life. Awesome software updates like Fenix 7. And the Classic screen display works perfect in daylight, no need for Amoled screen. Buttons work xlnt, better than touch screen. Feedback from all info is the best training tool you will need to improve and learn about your body. Good luck, Stay healthy.
im looking into getting one, can you really live without the touch screen? people say its easier on the 7! also i keep hearing people say the Heart rate sensor on the 7 is better?
The gps accuracy issue is still der with fenix 6 line with Sony chip ? .. coz inspite of using FR 255s with dual band gps ..it adds up 200...300mtr always in my runs .. planning to buy fenix 6 at discounted price as backup watch. If it still has lot gps accuracy issues will not spend on it n will stick to FR 255s only
Brilliant vid and good review, I have had my 6pro for 2 weeks now so I was even later to the party, starting to play with it more and it just gets better
2024 and I have just completed 1 month with my new F6X, its price here in Brazil was good and the F7 series is very expensive. I hope I'm not too late to the party, but it has everything I need right now.
I just got this 3 days ago and I would say I'm right on time. Only paid $275 for a 1 month old used 6x sapphire. It still has way more features than I need. And I absolutely love the look and quality. I'll rock this for 3 years then buy a 7x sapphire pro
The 6x pro solar is still the best garmin wearables right now. With the 280 x 280 pixels. 51mm screen size and 21 days of battery life (smart watch mode). And up to 120 days with the battery saver mode.
@@RunWithMyDog Yup. And I’m using it for 1.3 years right now and i’m loving it even more! But good review with the 6 pro. I don’t think if it’s worth to upgrade into fenix 7 if I’m using the 6x pro solar now.
Bought a new one and been using it for a couple of months now, mostly for hiking and climbing. GPS trail is okay, but the altitude is off for about + - 50 meters, which in my opinion is unacceptable for a watch in this price range. I've tried everything from switching the navigation system, to manually entering the correct altitude before a climb, but every time it's faulty. My colleague has a Suunto for half the price and her altitude is always correct almost to the meter.
Awesome review. I got a GARMIN Fenix 5x plus and loving it on daily basis. I'm training for my 4th full IRONMAN. I might update for the Fenix 7 apparently coming up soon early 2022. With the Fenix 6 line up on sales, that's a great bargain and a real deal. TMO, Polar Grit X, Wahoo Rival, Coros Vertix can't really match Fenix in general
I was using 3hr sapphire edition since 2017, and i switched to fenix 6x sapphire version August 2021. Everything i had, just got improved with new model. Tried huawei gt2 pro for some time, but it just cannot compare with the Fenix version. Its robust look, battery life, just everything. Its the premium watch.. Think im gonna skip few versions now, unless its gonna be some serious breakthrough..
I purchased a Fenix 6X Pro in November. I don't care what the new 7 will have. The Fenix line stay at near full price for a long time. So now is the time to get a 6. I did buy a screen protector and a plastic case/bezel protector for a few euros as the Gorilla glass can scratch. The bezel protector will make the watch look cheap (I don't mind). But I would certainly suggest adding the screen protector rather than spending an extra 200 euros for sapphire glass. Sapphire glass is also harder to see. But of course to each his/her own. The 6X size doesn't bother me at all and is easier to see with longer battery life. My wrist is only around 7.5 inches.

I'm so glad the 7 will finally have touch screen. I have the 6 plus and it is a pain in the ass to use... and so non intuitive. Seriously whoever designed the functionality is not the sharpest tool in the shed. For non touch screen every function should be under just one button tab... so when you click on it it's all there then you could drill down draper into each... but it's spread all over. I really can't stand this watch... other than the GPS function... which is still a pain in the ass to use... but if you can get it to work right it will help you to not get lost in the wilderness. It's so much easier to use a navigator on a touch screen phone such as ONX when hunting back woods. You just click a couple things and good to go but on this no touch screen watch it's painful. Would I pay double for the 7. No because im not going to pay $600 for any watch... so guess I'll suffer with the 6 pro that I bought for $250... but I'd take the 7 over this any day for touch screen option...

Have been using my Fenix 6 pro for over 400 days. It's still a great watch. Makes sense buying it now at the lower prices.
Thanks! Did you just use GPS or also music/Maps?
It does make sense to buy it now. More than ever

i would like to add to this isnt just going to be a fitness watch this is going to be an everyday watch too
If you can afford the Fenix 7 so obviously it's a better option. Otherwise they are very similar in terms of features

Well said I started with Fenix 3 and now have Fenix 6x Pro. Great watch for the money.

Did you think the gps inaccuracies were enough to be discouraging?
Nope. I had only one run that it was all over the place. In all other activities it was more than acceptable

Garmin lacks sport profiles. And those can't be added manually. Polar is much better in that regard.
True. I usually use an app from connect IQ to add profiles that I require
I was scrolling down the sport profiles for what felt like 30 minutes with this watch! I thought it was overkill 😂
no google pay?
Nope, only Garmin pay
