One thing I wish I’d tried at the beach (although I don’t know how effective it would’ve been because there was a distinct lack of iron), is the new negative iron bias feature. That’ll be something exciting for me to try at cellars, though!
I have two coils for my Vanquish 540 Pro pack and my Equinox 700 and I bought spare lower shafts, so I do not have to play with mounting coils I just switch coils and shafts.

You can do this by long-pressing the menu button when you’re in the Volume setting. “T1” will appear on the screen when you do this. Reduce the volume to 1 or 2. This way, your iron signals won’t be as loud and it will allow you to hear nonferrous targets more effectively in iron-infested and heavily mineralized ground. I hope the translation works! 🤞🏻
The Equinox series is more versatile than the X-Terra Elite, so I’d stick with the 800 if you’re happy with it. If it’s time for a new machine/upgrade, I’d look at an Equinox 900 or a Manticore!
I'd go with the X-Terra Elite - wider TID scale, and it's got a faster processor as it's a newer detector. If I were in the market for a 600 or X-Terra Elite, I'd go with the Elite Expedition Pack. The Expedition Pack falls between the Vanquish 540 Pro Pack and the Equinox 700 in the line-up, as the stock of 600s will not be replenished once they're sold out.

I know it’s for use in heavy iron, but it looked like it was doing great without using it. I would like to know your opinion on a comparison on depth between the xterra and 700/900. I ask this because after using several detectors over the last few years on the beach, the equinox was my favorite. Unfortunately, I had to sell to buy others to try. Anyway, I’m in the market again for and equinox 900, but if depth is the same between the two, and it would save me several 100’s of dollars, then I might opt for the xterra elite. Thoughts?
@@mdsouthcarolina6143 I’d have to imagine the Equinox is deeper. I haven’t performed a depth test at home to compare, however if you think about the size of the stock coil on the X-Terra Elite (12x9) versus the Equinox (11), the added width of the Equinox coil would likely allow for increased depth. The biggest differences between the two machines, however, would be the recovery speed (1, 2, and 3 on the X-Terra versus 1-8 on the 900. 1, 2, and 3 on the X-Terra equate to recovery speeds of 2, 4, and 6 on an Equinox), and some further customization features are available on the Equinox. All things considered, I ran a 600 for 5 years and I didn’t feel limited. I’d say the best value if you need wireless headphones and want an additional coil would be the X-Terra Elite Expedition pack, especially if you don’t want to break the bank! Will the M85 headphones work with this?
Yes they will! ML 85s and ML 105s will pair to this machine.
@@StefDigs Good to know about the ML 105 working with the Xterra Elite. I wish the included Headset with the Expedition Pack was the ML 105 to use with Manticore if I ever upgraded, or that M would just make one headset to work with All of their current Bluetooth-capable detectors.
@@Stack_Silver you can actually use the ML 85s from the Elite with a Manticore - same connection!
@@StefDigs Great info!! Glad you clarified that, sometimes reading message boards yields misinformation and why I ended up asking you here instead. Many thanks and looking forward to your future videos!
Awesome detector Stef but I bet you miss your Manticore lol
@@RickyD1968 pfffft, I’m still swinging the Manticore as my everyday! This is a GREAT backup machine, though! 😊
Hey I hope you are ok sorry about your loss
@@billdelaney4222 thank you ❤️ Doing my best - so much involved with end affairs, been tough to take much time for myself to dig and make videos.
Great tutorial
@@andruw-tz6ez thank you! 😊
The coil resembles a Garret AT-Max coil.
Hmm, I didn’t think so, although the size is close. I swung an AT Max when they first came out. Still have it, but it’s been retired to the basement with the acquisition of new detectors!
Very nice 👍🤓
Thank you!
Great intro.
Thank you! Happy with how it turned out. 😊
Cool video, r the VDIs more stable? Enjoy ur videos
Thanks for watching! 😊 It seems quite stable, of course I haven’t had the opportunity to take it to a cellar hole yet and really put it through the wringer. Looking forward to doing so!
Ottimo lo ho anch’io 👍
There really is no down-side to running the GB Tracking on all the time.
Whatever works in your conditions, go for it! I haven’t found a big need for it at most of my sites, really depends where I am though.
parabéns pelo video
Thank you! 😊
Great show just sub keep it going😊
Thank you so much! 😊
How Much????????
It’s in the video, lol. $479 USD for the Elite alone, $599 USD for the Elite Expedition pack.
@@StefDigs Comparatively, that is ALOT of value built-in with the Expedition Pack!
@@Stack_Silver it really is! Can’t go wrong!
Hope you are doing well Steff 😢
@@earlmenefee3421 thank you ❤️ Hanging in there - just dealing with a bunch of frustration that goes along with end-affair paperwork. Really haven’t had a minute to get out yet because of all this.
Cool 👌
Thank you!
‘sup?!yeah- this is good ~ peace out- 📢
Thank you! 😊
👍👍
Thanks for watching!
top! show!!!!!!
Thank you! 😊
Does Minelab collects data from every ping emitted from your metal detector specially if is gold?🤔
With so many foreign countries buying so much land in our country you wonder what are they buying.
Absolutely not - I can say that with 100% confidence. Interesting thought, though.
I hope you are ok? I miss your videos,,,
@@dondtektor8537 coming back as soon as I can. I made a post last month in the Community section of RUclips to announce that my mother passed away. Wish I could say I had better news and that I was okay… 😕 It’s a LOT to deal with when you’re the only child and had almost no notice (so many financial institutions…). Videos will resume shortly, I’ve got a good backlog to share!
@@StefDigs I'm so sorry to hear this, yes that would be very hard. My thoughts and prayers go out to you,,,,Don,,,
you must be a Dragon Ball fan. Go Goku
Bahahaha, what’s funny is I never once watched that show. I dunno how this hairstyle came to be, but it’s been like this for over 20 years… 😂🤣
Stef I just want to say I lost my mother 2 days before my bday in 2016 n 2 days before that I put her dog down I’m so proud of the man I made my self and I’m sure your mother is extremely proud of you now where’s my new vid you
Thank you. ❤️ Very tough loss, no doubt about it. I won’t even be back in CT until the first week of July - there’s just so much to do. A new video will come when it comes. 😊
