The Rolex had a stamped fold-over clasp and hollow end links for many years. Ghost date doesn’t bother me. Crown and threading is better than Swiss watches I own in the thousands. I’ve owned this 1953 for two years and it is an awesome value at the $100 I paid.
I know Invicta gets a lot of hate and it is absolutely 100% deserved but this is the lone exception. I own one and I absolutely love it. The Rolex Submariner 6204 is my favorite watch of all time. Buying one would set me back about $100,000 so that's not going to happen. So this is where the perfect definition of an homage watch comes in. It's not an exact copy or a reproduction of that watch but it captures the look and essence of the original watch. Invicta has done a beautiful job of capturing the feel of the original watch and this watch has been a huge hit for them.
Yes! Absolutely!! I100% agree with your comment! Most of what they make is just not to my taste, but this watch? That was a moment where I went "Wait? Invicta made this ?!" Thank you so much for watching and for your comment!!
Thanks for the video. I love this watch. I have this one (31290) and also have the black/blue (Batman 34333) Wearing it today on a NATO. I usually wear it on a black vintage leather. For looks, these are the best bang for the buck. Cannot complain. I also have the 1953 Wall clock. These Rock!!!! Cheers!!!!!!!
Absolutely they are a great watch! I've run into so many other people who have this watch and really enjoy it. In fact I'm wearing mine today on a canvas strap. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment.
I picked up the "batman" bezel version 34333 for $88 (about 30% cheaper than the 31290) and have had it on the wrist for two years. I like the added pop of color from the blue bezel and the red "1953" on the dial of my model. As far as Rolex Sub homages go, I like that this has the 6204-style coin-edge bezel and lacks the Mercedes hands and cyclops of most Sub homages. As for pro divers, I love that this model skips the "INVICTA" branding carved into the case and has the mostly-brushed finish with polished chamfers. I hit the lottery because the NH35A in mine keeps COSC-like time... in the 10 days since the time change in the US, I'm off by less than 2 seconds!
That is so amazing! NH35's are rock solid and keep great time in spite of the fact they are rated at +20 to -40 sec. Never had any issues with mine at all. Like you said I really appreciate that there is no engraving on the side of the case and that they really tried to stay true to the 53 Submariner. Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment!
Thanks for watching and for your comment!! The NH35 in this watch is such a workhorse and really accurate!! Also, I do like the design of the watch and dial!!
@@infinitekronosI should note that I also have the all-black version which has a gremlin - works fine when resting and on the timegrapher, but when worn, it gains massive time (hour per day). I guess any watch model can have a lemon. I am going to do a movement swap to address that issue.
I'd like to try one, but i already have a 53' homage. I'm really mostly interested in the eta 7750 they offer for under $400. The big problem is, it's 51mm 😅 However, you could almost rip out the movement and get your money back or more It's by far the cheapest eta 7750 on offer. I'd recommend you try the san martin 6200 vintage diver. It's a hell of a watch and is significantly better built than my watches double the price from tissot and glycine. Well, i should say it's slightly better built then my prx and offers tons of spec for the money. The SM offers a screwlink bracelet with a fully milled on the fly clasp. Ceramic bezel insert and a regulated nh35. All for about 185 US on sale.
Thanks for the San Martin recommendation! I will definitely check it out. They do make a really good watch from what I've seen. I need to dig into the ETA movements more. Thanks for watching and for the comment and recommendation!
@infinitekronos For sure, I wasn't aware if aliexpress was on your radar as this was the first video of yours I watched, so I wanted to point it out. I now see you have tried some aliexpress brands, but I'd highly recommend the San martin 6200 53' homage as it's a real cracker. You may be more familiar with the ETA 7750 as being a valjoux 7750 , but they are essentially the same movement as ETA bought valjoux I believe.
The San Martin 6200 is a beautiful watch for sure. I do like the finishing but it's using the same movement as the invicta and although it does have some "upgrades" for the current price of $185, I would go with the Invicta 31290 if cost was an issue. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. I do appreciate it.
Thanks for your comment. As to your comment, I am serious. I do think this is a good watch for the price. I get the invicta brand might be polarizing and most may think it is a "fashion watch", but if you dig into the brand a bit more you really can find some good pieces. Thanks again.
I totally agree! I just got through watching a couple of other creators who feel that for the money it's a good watch. I say keep an open mind, you will find some pretty cool things if you do!! Thanks for watching and for you comment!!
Obviously you’re clueless. A lot of people don’t have the funds or so called “savvy” you possess. 🥱 Btw, I own several Invictas, along with my Rolex, Omegas, Glashutte, Tudors, Seikos, & even Casios.
I have a Seiko Turtle with the same movement, same mineral crystal, same 200m WR, same materials, same level of finishing, sloppier (and misaligned) bezel, slightly worse bracelet, worse regulation (+21 spd v. +2spd on my Invicta 34333), but much better lume... so I paid more than 3x the price even with a 30% discount...I'm sorry, but I feel foolish having paid an extra $270 for better lume and ISO certification. At 40mm, my Invicta 34333 gets worn much more than the 44mm Turtle and is every bit as good at the Seiko (if not better) for daily wear. As a "desk diver", the Invicta is a fantastic automatic for
Thanks so much for your comment! Seiko has had some really bad quality control issues in the past. It always surprises me how people will write off brands like Invicta calling them absolute trash.
Thanks for your comment. As a response I would say this. Invicta is a real watch brand that does date back to 1837 in Switzerland, so they are not Chinese. Now, Invicata was sold as I mentioned in the video and yes they do assemble their watches overseas, but then again a lot of other watch brands do also. For your comment about specs, this watch has the same specs as most of the watches on AliExpress. Seiko(TMI) NH35 movement, stainless steel bracelet, 200 meters water resistance and so on and thier pricing is pretty competitve to AliExpress brands. Take San Martin as an example, thier model SN0004-GA is a comprable watch to the one in this video and has a lot of the same specs. Now San Martin is a great company that makes fantastic watches, but this model currently costs $185.46 on AliExpress. Don't get me wrong I have several watches from AliExpress and I really enjoy them and I really appreciate the price to specs ratio. Thanks again.

It absolutely is!! I really like this watch. You really can't go wrong for that $100 price point. Thanks for your comment and for watching!

This is one of my favorite watches. Interestingly, when I check it out on my timegrapher, it is about my most accurate automatic.

@infinitekronos I'm not sure if my comment came through but the eta 7750 is also known as the valjoux 7750, which you may be more familiar with.
@@infinitekronos The San martin 6200 53' diver is a real cracker and a class watch.

San Martin SN004G would be a better choice.
