The $100 Casio G-Shock you are missing out on!
When it comes to tough, rugged and reliable timekeeping, one name immediately comes to most peoples minds. G-Shock. The Casio G-Shock line has been cranking out some of the toughest watches since 1983, and the Casio G-Shock GD010 is no exception to that rule. With it's tough, reliable and inexpensive cost, the GD010 is a great entry level addition to the G-Shock to a family of iconic watches. Watch as I go through an in depth review of the GD010. See if this fantastic G-Shock is what you have been looking for.

Still can't find these in the US. Frustrating. Your Amazon link is a 404... sadly. Thanks for the review!
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. I have recopied the link again from Amazon. amzn.to/3Ou84ro Hopefully this one works. Otherwise, I did find them at a clothing store called Tilly's. Here is the link to the orange one I have: www.tillys.com/product/g-shock-gd010-4-watch/506814700.html?dwvar_506814700_color=700 And one for the black one: www.tillys.com/product/g-shock-gd010-1-watch/506812100.html?dwvar_506812100_color=100 Sorry about that. Nice try but overall too many flaws. It could've been a great watch, instead it became just another one you can pass and won't miss.
Thanks for your comment. I'm curious what flaws you see? I'd love to get your feedback. Thanks for watching.
One of the best watch channels on RUclips,I am a watch collector,.. bought mine on MAMACOO
I’ve to blame only myself for missing out on this beauty when it was available for $80 here in India. A Dozen G-Shocks I bought under a year are the reason for my G-Shock fast ! This fast didn’t prevent me from buying a bio-resin based Protrek PRW-35 though 😉
There is something about Casio and G-Shock that is just irresistible. The Protrek you picked up is a seriously awesome watch that has way more functionality. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate your support.
It is still available in India for the same price
@@gauthamtvpm Oh.. Just saw this on Casio India Shop.
I own an ae1500, a casioak and a square. As well as other casios. I don't own a negative display watch. I don't think they are clear enough. I would like to see it in real life but I am hesitant to buy one
I do think that negative display are a bit more challenging to read. I got lucky with this one. I understand the hesitation. I know the other two colors won't be a problem. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I appreciate your support.
Good review of GD010 there , was expecting the black colour variant you will review since the orange one is bit too flashy amd may not be for everyones taste. It does feel like AE1500 on roids 😅 thats why had asked to review ae1500 too good comparison there. Waiting for casio forester watch review.
Yeah the similarities are astonishing! Thanks for watching and for commenting. Casio Forester is on the list of upcoming reviews! Appreciate the support!!
Nice, rugged watch. I like it!
It would look good with my Merrell hiking boots.
It is surprisingly light on you wrist and easy to wear. Thanks for watching and for all your support!!
Yes, pretty much any hiking or outdoor activity the GD010 could hanlde pretty easily.
Is there anything that's not a clone-homage, except for the Seagull 1963 chronograph?
Well, you can spend a bit more and move up to some of the watches from San Martin. They have some really nice original designs. I just did not cover any San Martin because I don't own any yet. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate your support.
@@infinitekronos Oh yes, I saw some GMT from San Martin that I think is an original design. Thanks for your reply!
@elzafir I am glad to hear you found something that you like. Happy to help anyway I can. Take care.
Not too much.
Lol. Correct, help within reason.
Where do you get your leather straps from?
I picked up them up on Amazon. The black one is from Bisonstrap and the brown one is from Ritche watch bands. They both are super comfortable. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate your support.

Cool watches there, liked the first one more though, ali express doesn't ship to my country thats a bummer there. Can you please review Casio forester watch please.
Wow! That really sucks that AliExpress doesn't ship to your country. I hope that changes soon for you. Thanks for the recommendation about the Forrester. I will put that on the list to review. Thanks for watching and for your support. I really appreciate it.
I have the voyager and wanted to pick this one up. However 38mm is just too small. Hell the voyager is still small as well. So to think this watch is smaller nah. Sucks.
I thought 38mm was too small also, but it actually fits pretty well and the dial is super easy to read. I need to get the Voyager next . I already have the Admiral which is a really nice GMT. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate your support.
Great video
Thanks for watching and for your comment. I appreciate your support.
I’ve ordered that same watch from Boderry but unfortunately it was sold out. Then I got an email from them saying it’s now available so I ordered it again (I cancelled the first order and got refunded) and now they are giving me the bs excuse like the first one. It’s been 3 weeks now and I’m still waiting for the watch. It’s so frustrating!😤😡🤬
I so hear you. That was my experience as well. I did the pre-order in July and I got the watch in early September. I've heard Boderry is not so great with shipping. Once you get the watch it's awesome, so I guess I'm saying hold on! It will be worth your time! Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate your support! Take care and good luck.

looks like the prg protrek dlc titanium years ago
Yeah it sure does. I can see the resemblance. Thanks so much or watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate your support.
Great video! I like the new format and presentation. I have one of these watches. Overall, it's a great and inexpensive alternative to a G-Shock, especially with that 10 year battery. It is huge. Definitely not for a smaller wrist. Also, the watch comes in two "sizes" (I guess). One has a longer strap than the other. My only real complaint is with the 24-hour time. The left-most digit is crammed into a narrower space, so any time that starts with "2" looks odd. If you don't use 24-hour time, you'll never notice.
Thanks for the feedback, Im trying to make things more conversational. Glad you liked it. I will definitely look at the left most digit when in 24 hr. I'm one of those that never noticed. LoL. Thanks for the reminder that the AE1500 also has the variant with the longer strap. Thanks for watching and the support! I really appreciate it.
Yess it does come with a little longer strap version , the one has got had extra long strap tag on it, it's just basically 2-3 mm extra if you measure it than the normal ae1500 strap.
Think it was available in metal bracelet before, since now the actual duro is not in production anymore think you are talking about the new duro without Marlin logo which is much smaller in size and has just 50m water resistance.
First of all Thankyou so much for making the review on AE1500, very good review covered almost all points there . The advantage of big sized time display is helps even the elders who are post 50yrs and having visual issue of reading small fonts can see this big digits and read the time clearly (as have seen many people appreciate the big fonts) , they have given atleast 2 led lights whereas most previous models came with only one light with poor visibility , if they had made this a gshock then its price would have increased steeply , think their main purpose was to make a gshock like watch at very low price so people can enjoy the gshock like feel , heck you are getting so much for as less price, got one myself during recent amazon festival sale for 1800 INR(22$ approx) and was available for as low as 16$ also. You missed out on the glass material as whether its mineral or acrylic one. Waiting for your next review on a Marathon watch😊.
I'm so glad you liked it. I see your point on not turning the AE1500 into a G-Shock. It would drive the price up quite a bit. The dial is so large that reading it at a glance is very easy. This one is a resin crystal as I'm finding most Casios are. You really do get a lot for a little with this watch. As far as reviewing a marathon goes, I'd love to review their OSAR, but the price is a bit steep. I do like their Navigator series, which are super affordable. If you do like the Navigator line, Long Island watch has a colab with marathon that is awesome! Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate all the support. Take care and see you in the next one!
@@infinitekronos ohh that would be great please do the marathons long island version review , let's start with some model atleast rather than nothing in hand , something is better than nothing right. 🙂
Just ordered one looks good .
They really are great looking! I love the large dial. Thanks so much for watching and for your support. I really appreciate it.
I love my 1500 - I have bought 3 more for friends and family! I don't use the world time feature so I didn't miss it at all. I just wish is was a tad more wearable in terms of sizing. But i can get over it for the value ratio on offer. Nice video!
Thank you for watching! The AE1500 is really a great watch! Someone commented on a post I made about the AE1500 that it should be turned into a G-shock. It really is a great watch. Thanks again for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate your support.
The logic in your comparison at the end doesn't make any sense. This one and the 1200 have completely different strengths and audiences.
Yes that is true. The AE1500 is a watch for a different audience than the AE1200. My point was they have world time on other watches for around the same price point , take the DW291 for example. It's not specifically a watch for world travel but it has that feature in it. They have several other watches that have the world time feature built in but the ae1500 has only dual time. It seemed to me that AE1500 should have had that as well. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate your support.
Sir, you're a natural!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the content. Thanks for watching and for your support. I appreciate it so much!
This is only landmaster color that i can take seriously.
I feel the same. I felt that the white dial didn't really work, and the black dial is okay, but I wanted a bit of color. The strap that comes with the Landmaster is really nice and coordinates well. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. I appreciate your support.
"Nice video, Sir. That's a great field watch. The glass tubes are filled with tritium, standard for military-type watches. The tubes will glow in the dark for years without needing being I think It'sprice for a field watch with sapphire, tritium, super luminova, automatic movement, and titanium. All of these features would cost a lot more with higher-end brand watches. Keep up the good work!"
Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment. Appreciate the support and encouragement. I do really like this watch and I saw recently that the Landmaster is back in stock
It is not tritium gas. Would have cost way more if it were..
Yep, it's not tritium. It is some type of liquid lume that Boderry developed. I will say that it tends to kast a little bit longer than the painted on lume. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate the support.
@@infinitekronos I guess they use something similar to what glow sticks may have, hopefully they will last long enough.
@@lpsalsaman the lume seems really strong right now, but I suppose we will see as time goes on.
Good review there of boderry, think they make good field watchs, bring it more from boderry watchs. Think those are tritium tubes same used in luminox watches for glow in the dark. Please review marathon watch also.
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. I did look into the tubes they are using and I did confirm it's not tritium, which I think would have been nice. Boderry doesn't tell what it is exactly, just some liquid lume filled glass tubes. I would love to review marathon. I love the GSAR line. Thanks again for your comments. Appreciate your support!
@@infinitekronos ohh must be gas or liquid filled tube lumes, both looks exactly same. Waiting for your review on AE1500 and marathon watchs.
Just letting you know I'm uploading my review of the AE1500 on Friday October 25th at 5 am Mountain time. Took long enough to get to it, but I hope you enjoy it!
@@infinitekronos ohh that's awesome, thanks you made such efforts to get it and review for us all.
Hello Good morning If the bracelet is made up of titanium, which is 2 times stronger than steel. Still it has got scratches within 1st week of your use. Is it the titanium quality is substandard. Second point:- It's. not a famous brand so at this price what ever the company is providing should be competative with famous brands.
You know, you would think that titanium wouldn't scratch as easily as it does. However, it does scratch easier than stainless steel. This is because titanium naturally forms a surface oxide layer that scratches easily. Stainless steel does not form that oxide layer. The purer the titanium , the more it will pick up scratches. As for it being famous, it is a relatively well known watch maker. True, it may not be known to everyone, or on the same level as say Seiko or Zelos, but the watches they make provide good build quality at a very reasonable price. As an example thier Voyager field watch is a very popular watch from Boderry that comes in at under $100 US on a strap. Thank you for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it. Take care.
@@infinitekronos I am preferring this watch just because its made up of titanium. As you said about the titanium properties, I am little bit confused whether to select stainless steel watch or titanium watch. Is this watch durable than stainless steel watches?
@sushantmane3973 it is pretty durable. The watch is not one that I use daily. My take on Titanium vs. Stainless steel is that they are both incredibly durable materials and are a really nice choice. I would say if you are looking for a watch on a braclet that is very light and not heavy on your wrist, then titanium is the way to go. Otherwise, I would go with stainless steel. It does have some weight to it, but I will say as much as I like titanium, I like the feel of the weight of the watch on my wrist. The minor scratches and scuffs will come with both, but I see those as memories of a watch well worn. Hope that helps you. I am happy to answer any other questions you have or provide any feedback. Thanks again.
@@infinitekronos Thanks for the information
@@sushantmane3973 you are very welcome. I hope it helps.
nice review 👍
Thanks for watching and for the support! Glad you liked it!
This watch looks really nice! Where can I get one?
www.boderry.com/collections/landmaster. Thanks for watching and for your support. I really appreciate it.
Voyager, available for $100 is the ‘talk of the town’ here in India. Even though I’m a quartz guy (for its practicality), I must admit that I’ve it in my “wishlist” and I came close to pulling the trigger !
I have been meaning to get a Voyager. Super solid watch with a super reliable automatic movement for about $100. It's really hard to say no to that!! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate your support!!
Nice watch! Glad you were able to get one.
Thank you. Glad I was able to get mine on a pre-order. Thanks for watching and for your continued support. I can't do this without you!
I'm not sure I'm worried about scratches and scuffs on a sandblasted titanium case compared to polished steel. I almost wonder if it's going to add more character, maybe make the watch look more rugged. I am surprised to see Boderry make a watch so similar to the Voyager. It feels like they're competing? Maybe I'm missing an important distinction.
I totally get the concern with titanium, though you make an excellent point about the small scuffs and scratches adding character. Maybe, since we see the use of bronze on watches now and how the bronze patinas over time giving it character, they thought the same with titanium, who knows? I took mine off the braclet and put it on the supplied nylon strap. I personally like the way it looks on the strap. To me, I feel it makes it look more like a field watch. As far as the Landmaster competing with the Voyager goes, I think that since the Voyager is so successful, Boderry may have felt like doubling down in the field watch category. Who knows? I do like the Voyager. I still don't own a Voyager, I really need to get one of those....Anyway, I could ramble on forever. LOL! Thank you so much for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate your time and support.
@@infinitekronos great point about bronze! I'm curious to see how the community responds when those watches start to oxidize. Is the green hue going to be welcome? It occurred to me the bracelet is a big difference between the Landmark and the Voyager. Maybe they intend the Landmark to be a watch for all occasions? And the titanium bracelet will be fine for less strenuous tasks. The Voyager does not have that option.
I can see the Landmaster being a more all-around type of watch. I know the Voyager comes on a bracelt as well, but in looking at the dial faces of the Voyager and the Landmaster, the Landmaster has a cleaner dial and a more finished look to it, which goes to your point about it being a more all around type watch. I find the Landmasters dial to be less distracting. The absence of the 24 hr markings that you find on the Voyager really open up the dial on the Landmaster, and its dial is 2 mm smaller than the Voyager. I will say that I really like the second hand on the Voyager.
No battery replacement ever (Tough Solar). Ultra Accuracy (Radio controlled). Going on _TEN_ years with my Casio "Tough Solar" series. Hasn't missed a single beat. As close as they come as a "forever" machine is concerned. There's NOTHING, no makers, brands or whatever can touch a Casio. Had a "fancy" watch once (around 3K used Rolex) dropped by accident ONCE on concrete floor around desktop height and that was the end of it. It's so good even the Navy SEAL use them as their "official/unofficial" watch. Fun Fact: If you have a radio controlled version, you can SEE the minute hand MATCHING _exactly_ tick-for-tick as the time on your cell phone. That's how stupid accurate they are. CAISIO 4 LIFE.
Casio really is incredible. I just recently picked up a G-shock GD010-4 and it is awesome! You really can put these watches through hell and they don't even notice! Thanks so much for watching. I really appreciate the support.
How its edges. Some reviewers say it has the sharpest edges.
Honestly I haven't noticed the edges being sharp at all. Thanks for watching! Appreciate the support!
@@infinitekronos ok..thank you
Great video on the seiko land shark , think the company wanted to give an all in one type watch to customers which did make sense as diver + field watch baby type. Would love to own this but Seiko watchs price are damn high here.
Thanks for watching. It really is a great watch that seems to cover a lot of things like you said. I picked mine up on Jomashop over a year ago, but prices have gone up and it's getting harder to find them. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment. I really appreciate the support. All the best to you!
Good review there on AE1200 there, its good that you got confused in my previous comment over AE1500 , and ended up reviewing the legend casio Royale finally 😅. Its definitely a beater travel watch for sure ,just got the full metal royale for 2000rs(25$) in the amazon sale going on now , its definitely compliment both casual and formal dresses. And the glass is not a mineral glass its a resin glass which is for sure prone to scratches if not taken care. Now waiting for your AE1500 review.
Thanks for watching! My bad on the crystal. Glad you liked the video. It definitely is the kind of watch that I could almost call a GADA watch. The full metal one look really nice and really make it look more dressy. I'm definitely working on the AE1500 now. Thanks again for watching and for your support. All the best to you.
I like that you can really customize it.
It really is pretty cool that you can really make it your own. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate your support.
I have the basic black version, and there's really only one tiny issue I have with it. Those bars that surround the map, throw shadows in certain light. Other than than, it's an excellent buy.
I see what you mean. It doesn't happen all the time, which is good. I find I have a bit of trouble reading the analog watch dial on the left corner, kind of small for me. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it!
Hey Kronos, thanks for the informative video! I'm thinking about buying this watch but have 1 question that I can't seem to answer anywhere -- does it tick, and does it tick loudly?
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful. So to answer your question, it does tick like a quartz watch would but it's not loud at all. I've had it on my bedside table and I couldn't hear it. Great watch overall for the price. Thanks for watching!
@@infinitekronos Thank you for responding so fast, I'll definitely be considering it!
Picture this watch with the hand wound mechanism of seagull (slimmest case), a power reserve indicator at 9 and maybe a date window at 3 for visual equilibrium. Wouldn't that be something?
Nice idea!! Keeping it all in the vintage aesthetic as well with the rest of the watch. You know I did get a slight feeling that the dial was a little too empty looking. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.
Nice watch, but the case???
Right!?! What is up with that case? The camo confused me and I had to make sure I had the right watch! Thanks for watching and for commenting.
Why havent you made a video on ae1500 yet ,please do it soon.
Thanks for the feedback. You know, I don't know why I haven't done one on the AE1200. It's an awesome watch. Thanks for watching and for commenting. I really appreciate it.
@@infinitekronos looking forward for your review on these both watch , am sure you will love it.
It took me two weeks to realize you said the AE1500 not the AE1200. LoL. Sorry about that. Yes, the AE1500, would be a great candidate for review, thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime I just posted a video on the AE1200 if you are interested. Sorry again for the confusion and thanks again for watching. All the best to you!
I have the same watch sgw-100 I've had it for about a decade or so now and I can tell you one thing I enjoy it and no you cannot beat the price
You really can't beat the price! You get so many features for your money and it can take a pretty good beating too! Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment.
Weren’t they available earlier ? I remember seeing bracelet option on Amazon while I was ordering mine ($49 strap version)
the 5610u is my favorite gshock, had the Rangeman and its huge
I really do like the 5610. I figure if someone is stuck between the dw5600 and the gwm5610, 8 say go with the 5610. It costs a bit more, but you get a lot more too! That Rangeman is such an awesome looking watch, I can imagine it must be huge on wrist! Thanks so much for watching and for your comment!
I dived into automatics and honestly got tired of all being the same besides materials and colors, and needing to be winded since I do not wear them much. I am going back to quartz, since they are a set it and forget it adjustment type. The accuracy of the cheapest and worst quartz accuracy performer in my "collection" is so far ahead of the best automatic, no joke! 24 seconds behind on the quartz vs 2.40 min ahead after 1 month on the automatic.
Quartz does offer you much better accuracy and the ability to grab and go and set and forget (for the most part) . I have several quartz and auto/mechanical watches and I can't seem to decide which I prefer. The High precision quartz watches however are very nice, like the Longines VHP line. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment!
@@infinitekronos Was looking for the VHP but is hard to find a new one. I started to gravitate back to quartz since I am a function over form kind of guy and cant be without timer, hourly beep and indiglo/light like in timex/casio. Oceanus are great i see!
I absolutely love Casio's and of G-shock and Oceanus! I found some new Longines VHP watches on Jomashop.
