    Your videos really touch me. A lot of what you say sounds just like me. I have always had negative talk in my head. I think I have let those thoughts dictate my life. At 71, I am trying to change all of this and lose all the extra weight I have carried all these years. I have lost 50 lbs, but are in a slump now. The voice a lot of times says I am not a good person or I am not capable of doing something. I think a lot of this comes from my father who thought girls and women could only do housework. Then I had a husband that did not want to hear how I felt and put me down. 🧠🧠♥♥ I know this is not true. i raised 3 children and have a Master's degree. Keep inspiring others Thank you

    Wow, I know this voice has been running for as long as I can remember. It is jarring once you recognize and start hearing what it says! I'm working on improving this, but OMG, it's a very slow process. Thank you so much for giving some steps to deal with this,and mentioning the books. Love your content, and I am so very inspired by you! 💗💗🧠🧠

    Carla, I find your mental health videos to be incredibly relevant and helpful. I hope you'll continue to post them. I have a running commentary in my head myself. Strange but hope-filling to think it might not be "me" that's the one doing the chattering.

    You are such a tough person. Truly inspiring.
    This video really touched me to the point of tears, but also gave me a lot of clarity. I know whose that voice in my head is. It is a combination of my grandmother and my high school English teacher, and they both told me I was useless and I would never amount to anything, causing me to have imposter syndrome and doubt every little thing in my life. I finally realized that at 38. Thank you, Carla, and I'm wishing you all the best.

    ❤🧠🙌🏻 Thank you, Carla! This was my second video of yours and I really appreciated it. Self-talk - yes, I definitely have a lot to work on there. I am at the highest weight I’ve ever been and this makes it hard for me to truly enjoy my accomplishments and my relationship with my wonderful boyfriend. I always feel that life will “really begin” when I lose the weight, which is something I have told myself my whole life. I just turned 55. What a waste. Perhaps I can reframe this as something like “I am living well! I have a successful career doing something I love. I have friends and family who love and genuinely appreciate me. I have a boyfriend who truly loves me and wants to spend his life with me. I am mostly healthy! There is so much going well - and they are fundamental things that not everyone has. Be grateful and don’t hold back - live!” Am I on the right track here?

    The Kindness Method finally helped me break the negative self talk habit. Once I listed all the things I'd say about myself, I realized who had actually put those thoughts into my head. It was eye-opening! What a huge load off my back to not carry that around anymore!

    🧠🧠❤️❤️🌸my latest negative self talk has been that I look old and unattractive. I know this is not true, I catch myself, yes I am aging, but I try to tell myself I am aging beautifully. It’s like my inner critic can’t call myself fat anymore because I am so close to my goal, so it has switched to finding another aspect of myself to attack. I really appreciate this video, thank you🥰

    Hi, Carla. I had totally forgotten about “blocking.” I used to use the tool often and then for some reason quit. Thank you for the refresher as the tool needs to be implemented back into my life. 🧠🧠💜💜 (cannot leave a “reframing” statement at this time.)

    I am having a hard time losing weight. I’m in menopause. I’m killing myself with exercise and eating healthy with a calorie deficit. My blood panel looks fine so I’m so defeated. I just want to say F it and eat all the crap food and stay fat. I’m 60lbs overweight.

  • @fransak2723
    @fransak2723 4 месяца назад

    For over 60 years I felt that I was not worthy of love because I was fat. Even though I have lost 100 pounds I still feel unworthy. But I have learned to fake it pretty well. Isn’t blocking almost like stuffing your feelings, kind of like faking it?

    • @yelenairwin1717
      @yelenairwin1717 4 месяца назад

      Feeling worthless could be thought of as more of a false belief than a feeling. We learn to think little of our worth when those around us don't value us, especially if these people are our parental figures. The inner critic could be reinforcing this belief by repeating this negative narrative.
      I think blocking as applied to the inner critic is an effective tactic in rewiring your brain for more positive self talk. When I first started trying to silence my inner critic, I would say 'no' whenever I became aware of a self-critical thought. You wouldn't be blocking any feelings here, just stopping the inner critic from bullying.

    Hi Carla, my name is Pam, I live in South Africa and I am nearly 60 years old. Congratulations on the enormous challenges that you have faced and succeeded in coming out victorious. I have watched your facial procedures and after having lost some weight (20kg) a few years ago, which has caused my face to wrinkle sooo badly (I am nearly 60) especially my cheeks near my mouth, I am considering botox and fillers in those areas. Just wondering if you have /had loose skin around your belly that needed trimming or removing. I have a very small apron of belly fat which was caused by my putting on weight after a caesarian section. The extra fat pooches over the scar, and it is really problematic for me especially when the weather is hot (as it tends to be here in Africa) as it gets nasty and sweaty. But I must say you were beautiful even when you were overweight, but now you look absolutely gorgeous.

    • @HalfofCarla
      @HalfofCarla  3 месяца назад

      I have tonnes of loose skin, I would have to have surgery to remove it. There’s little that can be done otherwise. And thank you for your kind words xx
