Dang perfect day with the low fog/cloud layer. Looks so cool above the clouds. I always worry about the moisture going through the fog or clouds but seems to not be enough to mess with the electronics. 🤷♂ flying in winter sucks but its the only time of year you get the low cloud layers like this. Great video!
Yeah it was pretty great for being so cold and gloomy looking at the start. I’ve done it a couple times and seen others do it but I wouldn’t want to make a habit of it due to the damage moisture can cause to the electronics. Flying in winter does suck, it’s just so cold but there is definitely some beauty to be found. Thank you!
@@BlueSkyDigitalStudios thanks! I was freaked out coming down. I was talking about it while up there trying to figure out what to do! I couldn’t even tell if I was level 😅
@@McLogo76 Thank you very much! I agree, really good flight time especially in the cold! Honestly I’m not sure, I would assume it did but I flew for over 10 minutes and landed at 3.6v. I’d say I could get 20 minutes of light with this setup and I feel like that’s pretty good for a self built 7”. Hopefully as weather warms up and I can some more long flights and see how it performs.
whats with your audio? your mic is only playing out of the right side also this is a cool view. kind of like your not flying on earth lol. hope your gps was working really well lol. that is some thick fog. the other morning was really interesting if never seen freezing fog in town yet we had it. its really cool to fly like this. its almost as if your the only person there in a strange new world for the first time. just breath taking, and beautiful. the 04 did amazing capturing this. how high did you have to go to get above the fog?
Weird, I’m hearing it through all 4 speakers on my iPad and on my computer speakers. Yeah once i busted through the fog it was like something out of a sci fi movie on a different planet, it was also disorienting at times. GPS had over 20 seats locked in and I’ve tested a few times, it works well for RTH and navigating thankfully. I’d like to add an artificial horizon because I wasn’t sure if I was level when going in and out of the fog. Yeah it did a good job and pretty smooth considering how bad my props were, I also realized I had a loose VTX antenna. Only a couple hundred feet before I punched through so not high at all!
@@smithe68 i wear headphones when im at my computer it was your talking but was only coming out of the right side. not a big deal. figured it was just a mono track. i can only imagine what the feeling must be to not see anything on the horizon in that kind of conditions. good thing your gps had 20. none the less it was cool to have the transitions. from the monotones of the fog to the hues of the sky when you broke through. i wish we had more mountains and higher hills around here. it would of been really awesome experience to have that and there would of been no need for the artificial horizon. but hey we use what we got right? im glad to know she survived, with the props in that condition. truly great flying!
DUDE, THIS IS AMAZING!!! BUT HOW IS YOU 04 MOUNTED!!! I HAVE THE SAME FRAME AND ITS STESSING ME, STILL WAITING FOR MINE.. Sorry for caps, just very anxious!!!
Hey, no worries! I found a 3D print for the O3 and used it with just 2 screws. I am learning Fusion360 right now and just designed my first mount for the O4 and the REkon 7 frame. I’m printing version 3 right now and will hoping to test later this morning although it’s only 13 degrees out. I’ll let you know how it goes and will share the file if you are interested.
Awesome flight!! So serene up there!! Sun’s coming 😊
Thank you! It sure was nice to have that sun out once I got clear of the fog!
Love this flight Brother!!
Yeah, it was a fun flight for sure! Thanks for being there and all your support 🙏🏽

@@amigosdamontanhafpv Thank you so much! First time breaking through some low fog like this, it was amazing!

Thanks, I was very nervous but it turned out pretty cool!
Oh man… that was awesome!!! I would be shitting bricks coming down through the clouds.

Nice video mate! That is some serious range and flight time. Did you notice the temperature having an effect on the LiIon?
