I can finally take pisses in the middle of flights without wetting my pants! That's great :) Thanks Mark.....I'm old school...I do POS Hold on my own. With my POS drone :)
Happy New Year! Thanks for the great video, looking forward to the compass calibration video, hopefully it will also contain some information on how to very that it is accurate and that you don't pick up too much noise from ESC, Motors, ... especially interested in that one :) Thanks again!
Seriously considering going back to BF once 4.6 is proven. Currently using inav 7.1 on my 7in lr build, mostly for pos hole option. Been too chicken to try using waypoints
I have bad experience with magnetometer. When you are close to Hi voltage cable or you fly around big antennas and close to radar station. When you failsafe, GPS rescue go to the arrow not to the home point. For that reason I will never use magnetometer on my drone. Happy New Year.
Can you please do a video on how to setup a hovering throttle, while using position/altitude hold. When I activate my position/altitude hold my quad jump up about 15 to 20 feet before coming to a hold position.
I used 4.6 a couple weeks and impressed with alt and pos hold but one day I noticed that home arrow was not pointing to home and when I initiate gps rescue then it just push the throttle like almost max. Deactivate gps rescue and restart the quad suddenly all back to normal. I think I will use 4.6 again but without magnetometer. I guess orientation setting is harder if you put gps in angle.
You definitely need to adjust the compas orientation from CLI, on the 3 axes, and based on the compas module orientation itself (CW90Flip, CW270Flip, etc....) and how it is mounted to the frame, can be confusing with some models.
Wind will mess up your bearing. BF mag was updated to not just assume you are moving forward, but it looks at your attitude to estimate your direction. Would be better if there was some gps fused in to ignore readings that are clearly wrong. Aka you just moved forward then stopped.
@ great, I was in shock. I thought my drone was using way too much when I saw this display showing the mAh number slowly increasing. I would definitely have managed +45 minutes plus with my 8 inch.
Thanks for the video! When in Pos hold and then you move the sticks, you mentioned it goes into Angle mode, but does it stay in Alt Hold mode while moving the sticks?
all works for me on INav but in 4.6.. drone is all aver the place and i cant get Magnetometer to work correct ... same Magnetometer works in Inav just fine ... maybe you can give as info on you GPS /Magnetometer and mabe give us CLI dump to read ..

Happy New Year Mark 🎉
Thank you very much for the demo and update. Very impressive!
Pretty freaking Kool! Thanks Mark!

Great update!
Happy New Year Mark!! Good Stuff, Cheers!!
Happy New Year Mark 🎉
Thanks for the info.
Finally after all these years I can fly my Betaflight drones like my DJI lol

Happy new Year!
Wow, that looks nice!
Happy New Year
I unfortunately bought a gps/baro/mag combo with an IST8310 mag.. looking forward to your mag video as i have pos hold working without mag.
Great and very educational video especially with no magnetometer. When can we expect official BF 4.6? Ps Happy new year 👍
Not sure yet
Just lovely!

@ actually pos hold and alt hold already went well and only that one situation happened. I just dont feel comfortable using non stable version.

How’s the pid transfer when moving to 4.6 so far?
First of all, happy new year and cool video. Your consumption indicator mah is very low. Which drone did you fly with - 7 inch?
no 5". Just not calibrated I guess.

With POS hold look fly like DJI mini drone 😂
Fantastic!
Is there a way to activate RTH after x seconds if no signal/input received after hold? What is going if battery is low?
if not signal, it would trigger GPS Rescue (if set to do so in Failsafe Tab) and return to home ... and even land (coming soon).
Thanks for the video! When in Pos hold and then you move the sticks, you mentioned it goes into Angle mode, but does it stay in Alt Hold mode while moving the sticks?
yes, when you recenter the sticks.
@@uavtech Hey sorry my question was not clear. I was asking if it stays in Alt Hold mode while you are moving the sticks?
@@gregdaviddit does, you can move the quad like a Mavic would do
I"m still rocking 4.2 on most quads haha! Too much to keep up with.
Yeah, 4.2 is still good!
The BetaFlight expert does it again 💪
How does it still know your heading without a magnetometer?
gets it from GPS as you are moving.
The Amp draw in his OSD looks exceptionally low. What is it measuring exactly?
It's probably not calibrated
Yeah, i have not looked at it.

Most likely not calibrated properly in BF, INAV is way easier to calibrate and figure out mounting position etc. :(
agreed
why are you running 3.20 khz pid loop
BMI gyro
SpeedyBee v3f7 😂
my dumbass has been reading this as Magneto-Meter
