Loosen and Advance the cam gear to 4.5 by turning the crank pulley AFTER you time the block normally. Part 2: ruclips.net/video/ZkqPhEeKCkE/видео.htmlsi=XyqYQUyiO9XumnEo
hey bro, i’m swapping a stock d16y8 cam into my engine head rn, i’m having trouble getting the rocker arms back on after getting the cam in… does my block have to be TDC in order for the rocker arm to sit flush on the head? there seems to be a huge gap between the rocker arm and head - won’t sit flush to the point where i’m able to screw it back in
u got to set to tdc. this will make the cam lobes for cylinder #1 point up, reducing pressure on the rocker arms so they sit flush. Then, try reinstalling the rocker arms if that make sense.
putting a y8 camshaft into a z6 head requires you to either use a y8 cam gear or in my case, a z6 adjustable cam gear. when using a z6 adjustable cam gear, you must advance the cam gear to 4.5 after you set your block to TDC. I did make that mistake in this video but corrected myself on and off-camera. I also ran a compression test today and got solid numbers. Hopefully, this helps ;).

You didn’t time your timing right when you remove the belt. Bent valve that why it sounds like that
