"We wanted to give people 2 totally different experiences with these 2 shows. Phanerozoic I was streamed live from a venue in the port of Bremen, with big lighting production, kind of the way people know us. For Phanerozoic II, we wanted to do something more cinematic visually, and at the same time more intimate. We wanted to capture the feeling of the 6 of us in a relatively small, confined space, facing each other, in a circle... without a stage or a crowd being any part of this equation. It was March and the room that we spent the whole day in was cold, but that was part of the vibe. We had to warm up our fingers constantly.” comments the band.

Someone suggested me to listen to this album a year ago, I only knew the band by their name. After listening to the album for months on a repeat I officially announce this album is in the list of one of the best prog metal album of ALL TIME imo of course
I agree. They definitely do not get enough recognition. I'd put them in the same strata as Leprous and BTBAM but they are nowhere near the recognition both bands get.

@@gordonchristophertubo3164 it was great. I'm not a huge concert goer, but my wife and I cpuldnt pass up seeing Leprous. The Ocean's lead singer was out due to breaking both his legs (poor dude), but the band still played their guts out.
Leprous was fantastic and it's just so refreshing to see very talented musicians playing passionate music. And they didn't shy away from any challenging songs. Very inspiring.
Jonas as guest singer was perfect on the Phan albums - but Loic does quite a nice job on Jonas‘s parts. Makes me look forward to watching them in concert.

They really are one of the best bands on the planet right now. I can’t find anything that sounds quite like them, it’s like Mastodon, Opeth, Deftones and Cult Of Luna mixes together but better than all four of those bands.
They are really cool people to work with and meet, too- I got to work a couple of their shows and Loïc produced my bands EP a few years ago!

Kept waiting for a part that didn’t hit as well as the album version…nope. They did that absolutely flawlessly. The composition and technical elements are amazing to see and hear .

Had band called The Ocean 20 years ago. Not together anymore but we might have been if we were this GOOD.
This is one of the most enjoyable productions from this band. Performance is top-notch, and the lighting sets the perfect mood for it.

I’ve been a The Ocean fan for over a decade and I absolute love everything they touch, I don’t think there’s one weak song in their entire catalogue, with that being said, I believe the experience of Ph I and II are unbelievable, this particular song represent all the epicness The Ocean is, for me and for the past year this has been my all time favourite song.

A PH III would probably be impossible due to them reaching our current epoch in earths history aka the Holocene Epoch/Quarternary Period. I would love for them to make a song called Ediacaran since it would of been in precambrian but didn't make it because it wasn't an official period till a year after the album came out.

Идеально слушать закрыв глаза, созерцая разные образы или же при долгой прогулке по природе. Многие не понимают такую музыку, потому многим сложно "долго" слушать, тут нужно уметь слышать и чувствовать, наслаждаться. Amazing, i love this band

Just found out about them right now. What the hell am I listening to? They sound like Tool-inspired Mastodon, frontmanned by the lovechild of Chris Cornell and Trent Reznor, with Tron Legacy synths thrown in for good measure. Extra rad.
