I absolutely love how effortlessly he moves around the kit - toms and cymbals. He's very into the groove, and no matter the syncopation, accents, or hand-switching, it all looks natural. This song must have been a beast to memorize, but he makes it look like he's been playing it all his life.

Few years ago, probably around 2015-2016 I was wondering how amazing it would be to see these 2 bands on one show. I quickly dismissed this idea as impossible, they're playing such a different kind of music and Leprous is going softer and softer, there's no way they'd make a show together.
You can imagine my shock when they announced this tour. They played 3 concerts in my country and It was very hard not to go to at least 2 of them (unfortunately I already had to take one day off work to see single one so it didn't happen)

Consistently one of my favorite bands during the last 6-7 years. Paul's previous work with War From A Harlot's Mouth is also excellent, just like his recent work with Nightmarer, which are both much more aggressive and dark. But his work with The Ocean is just so tasteful and mesmerizing. Every note in the right place, dynamics carried out perfectly, great phrasing/composition. On top of that the rest of the band is incredible and this last album of theirs was definitely in my top 10 for 2020. I'd recommend checking out his "To The Villians" as it's a much better show of his skill imo. He's an incredible drummer and the way he writes his drum parts is crazy af!

respectfully disagree. whilst he is clearly a beast in this song, his playing here is much more musical and dynamic.

To the Villains blows my mind. Much better show case of his technical ability

@@optimalforager I see what you mean. I guess I meant a better show of his skill in a technical sense.

@@RandomlnternetGuy I plan on doing a drum cover of it soon! I have one on my facebook but it's on a shitty kit with no mics or anything

Hello! I never knew "The Ocean" until shortly recommended by a friend - and it blasted me away! Could you please explain a little bit further what´s going on on drums? And have you done a video on Marco Minnemann? I´m no drummer - I just like music. But i´d like to know WHY this is so good!

I have been waiting for someone to do a reaction to this. He does vocals on some songs too.

I've played bass for well over twenty years and that nugget of knowledge you dropped about the snare lever made me feel extremely dumb haha. I just thought my drummer was a snare master.

Aric Improta has an insane 40+ minute drum track that I’d love to see you do in parts or at least a part of it. It’s great quality and in it there are about 20 things I’ve never seen a drummer do.

He moves and uses some of his mics while using guitar pedals on drums or cymbals, all while using an Octopad the whole time too.
