      @@rusty383 Yeah, after he found out his fiance cheated on him and then he still stayed with her, it still affected him very much. Plus he had depression issues to begin with already, caused him to do what he did with putting that hidden camera in her sister's room in his house. There was no way he could face anyone again after he was found out, especially the GF so he unfortunately decided to end his life. He was very troubled, yes indeed. lyzyrdgyzyrd Brad was ALWAYS underrated. Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Steve Perry, etc. got all the praise and accolades back in the day, and are highly regarded as the "greatest" of all time today, despite the fact that Brad Delp could hit higher notes and harmonize better than any of those guys. Meanwhile, many people today have never even HEARD of Brad Delp. He never had the "star power" OR the name recognition. You need to think things through before "LOL'ing" at people.

      @@carolduplessis2645 I assume you know why he took his life. It was because he did something that he was extremely embarrassed about. And his fiance was about to find out about it. His fiance's sister lived at his house. They were extremely close friends. I guess he had a secret crush on the sister and he hid a secret camera in her bedroom. She found it and confronted him. He apologized profusely and begged her not to tell her sister. She told him that her sister would find out one way or another and if he didn't want her to tell her sister, then the only option was for him to tell her himself. She gave him one week to do it. Rather than admit to his fiance what he had done, he took his own life.
      Brad was such a nice guy and I think the incident was an aberration. We have all done stupid things in our life. Unfortunately Brad was so ashamed of what he had done, he just couldn't bear to have to tell his fiance about it. ultimateclassicrock.com/brad-delp-suicide-lawsuit/

    He’s so brutal on his voice so early, he definitely put music first but I think how much he hurt his voice is underrated, he was a rock n roll singer worthy of the hall of fame and who could contend with ANY SINGER IN ANY GENRE at his prime, he just didn’t like competition, he sang to follow everyone, it probably kept him from being a better defined artist than he is today

      I saw them many times in the 80s. Excellent shows. The first was just to see one of my favorite bands live. After that first show, I was hooked. They played Giants stadium 4 nights. My first show was the first night. After seeing that show I bought tickets from a scalper for 2 more nights. ( they were sold out). It was worth every extra penny I paid for the other tickets. Fantastic band live back then. Brad was unbelievable. On the 4th night he needed a lil help from backing vocals but still unbelievable. I think they had 1 night off between all 4 shows. That tour was 1986 or early 87.

    Remember, Brad Delp cut ALL the vocals (lead + multiple harmonies) for most of the recordings, often hitting impossibly high notes; thus, it is very difficult to maintain those upper registers as one ages, and also it is very hard to duplicate in live performance...

    • @illbarry
      @illbarry 8 лет назад +5

      +james parker Even in the 70's live he didn't try to duplicate the studio and Barry Gordy was his main harmonizer. He knew even way back then he couldn't sing all night every night if he sand just the high parts. I think what is hear is the other vocals are not as loud as they were with the original band when they played live and you have to remember that in the 70's Brad wasn't as well known and not the focal point the whole band was. Schulz latter took a lot of credit for everything, but it is well known now that Barry Gordy wrote many of the musical harmonies of the guitars and vocals.

    • @29958867

      +Ill Barry Who is "Barry Gordy"? And who is "Schulz"?

    • @illbarry
      @illbarry 8 лет назад +3

      +james parker Barry and Tom Schulze wrote much of the Boston songs. They were the two guitarists of the original Boston. Schulze produced Boston and mixed the recordings. I my spelling is off so be it if you just want to be narcissistic and adolescent.

    • @29958867
      @29958867 8 лет назад +6

      +Ill Barry Listen pal, the fact that you can't even get their names right (Although I do congratulate you: you can spell "TOM"!) calls into question your pompous pontifications re "who wrote/played what" on the Boston albums...anyone who knows anything about the whole "Boston" phenomenon (as I do, having read much; plus I am a guitarist/musician/composer myself) knows that details re who did what are hopelessly mired in "he said/he said" argumentation from the persons involved (SCHOLZ, GOUDREAU and the others)...the undisputed fact is that, re the material, Tom Scholz IS Boston; add to that, the fact that Brad Delp is THE VOICE of Boston; re the contributions of the others, there is no compelling evidence of overly great contribution...FACT: the "Third Stage" album was classic Boston, yet had no Goudreau, Sheehan, or Hashian...FACT also, that on these live vids, Scholz handles the lead guitar work as good as anyone else would (this against the empty assertion that "Tom Scholz is a keyboardist, more than a guitar player")...

    • @illbarry
      @illbarry 8 лет назад +1

      +james parker It is you who is being pompous, and an ass, and very juvenile adolescent. I didn't spell the names correctly, but corrected you on some facts that you do not wish to hear and you were the one who replied as you did. I am not your pal and would never want to be simply because I have little time to be anywhere around adolescents parading as adults.

      Do you have any idea of the songs he has written that others performed such as Kentucky Woman, Red Red Wine, Day Dream Believer, Last train to Clarksville as well as many others. He wrote Sweet Caroline, Song Song Blue, I am I said, and to many more to mention. There should be no HOF if the likes of ND were not in it! There are many many other ridiculous groups and artists that were put in that absolutely do not deserve to even be a thought that you could have used as an example. but ND ? Lol.
