There is so much in Shakespeare that is directly of the teaching. Beryl Pogson discovered this and spent years of her life analysing the plays from a work perspective , culminating in her astonishing book , In the east my pleasure lies , an esoteric interpretation of some of Shakespeare's plays.
Note : Pogson was Nicoll's secretary for almost twenty years.

Oh , by the way do you know the Doonicans of Dingle in county Kerry ? A great fourth way family. Been hard at it for years. Val Doonican could even self-remember in a rocking chair. Cool 🍀

This may be of some interest to you.
It is discreetly inserted towards the end of the almost 150 page chapter 42 (Beelzebub in America) of Gurdjieff's magnum opus , Beelzebub's tales to his grandson.
One evening in The Wellington hotel in New York Gurdjieff got into an elevator watched by a close pupil ( Edwin Wolfe ) when the elevator returned to the ground floor Mr. Wolf asked the elevator boy what he thought of the man who'd just travelled in his elevator 🛗
There was a pause , broken by the elevator boy's hushed whisper , "he knows something."
That he certainly did

The new Gary Lachman book on Maurice Nicoll will be quite revelatory for some and downright shocking to a portion of those.
For others (such as myself), it is affirmative of Nicoll's abiding interest in the writings of Emmanuel Swedenborg to the eventual near-exclusion of reading BEELZEBUB as previously hinted by Beryl Pogson.
This new volume's content will certainly be of no surprise to those who read Marsha Schuchard's WHY MRS BLAKE CRIED and its relating of William Blake having trod a closely related path.
Lachman is not my favorite writer on the history of Modern Esoterica but he does seemingly manage access to things apparently out of the reach of most.
Well worth a read.
I liked Gary Lineker in the 1990 world cup , especially the way he was looking out for G after G was yellow carded. A perfect example of external considering over internal considering and non-compartmentalizing of the work. I will have a look at Linekar's new book on Nicoll. Thank you for the recommendation 😊
@@hermesnoelthefourthway My beloved and forthright Moravian cousins clued me in to William Blake 55 years ago when I first became interested in his work. I am forever grateful to them for opening a door to something REAL which continues to echo beyond that particular moment.

A truly divine chapter , in which Mr. Gurdjieff buried the dog v-e-r-y d-e-e-p . Amen , again and again 🐕 🙏

Now , then , if you'd listened to the video you'd have discovered that Mr. Nicoll is stating catergorically that it's no good making promises or vowing to do something , as one "I" makes the decision and another "I" needs to carry it out ! Result , mayhem. So in that case , it's best to say nowt 🤫

Ouspensky adored the gospel of Matthew and was forever making notes in the margins. Nicoll even says , in the commentaries vol one , that the work lead him to finally understand the scriptures. What they really meant
