The thing about Hou compared to other players at the world class level, when you look at the whole person she is like an adult among children. She has other professional abilities reinforcing that chess is, after all, a game.
No, that is incorrect. If you put so many hours in chess, it is NO longer a game, it is a profession. Chess at the highest level drains and they need to keep up at the top to make decent money.
@@critical_analysis A profession, for sure, but that remark doesn't change the fundamental fact that chess is, indeed, a game, as the previous person wrote. I think also, it is clear Hou, through her treatment of chess not consisting the entirety of her life, brings a different energy to the game, which can, make some of the other men seem childish because they exist in the world of the board.
@@hungerforthemore pretty irrelevant comment just like the original comment. Least bothered about what Hou does off the board. I appreciate her chess and that's it for me. If she is not interested to pursue it seriously, then it's upto her. Judit Polgar still remains the strongest female which Hou most probably will never match it, so picking up other interests is a wise choice.
@@hungerforthemore I'm not sure what would make your comment any less relevant than the person arguing that the game of chess is not a game. Anyway, my opinion is still the case that someone who exists in multiple dimensions beyond the game of chess appears as a multi-dimensional adult among those who devote themselves entirely to a game.
It looks like Magnus is playing black, and they're talking about the position at 0:14. Magnus thinks that his knight is protected by that pawn. But Hou says that she can take the knight with her queen, then if Magnus takes back with that pawn, she can then take the other knight with her other pawn and have discovered check. She can then take Magnus's queen afterward and she can end up winning both knights for her rook, or their may be something even better for her after the discovered check.
That smile from Carlsen... Damn, how cute
The way how he reacts is so cool

@@aliasone9827a sound proof room. because they need to talk about chess in a very deep fashion.

Nothing legendary about it . Let her play men she will not even be in top 100 😬

Yifan could have been top 10 or even top 5 if she'd maintained her focus on chess.
Yes, a lot of wasted potential. And she left chess very quickly. Today she would probably be 2750+ if she had stayed.
I don't think so, Judit Polgar at her best reached 2735 after lots of years.
Im watching it in front of me and still dont get it 😅
if Qxh5, Gxh5 you ExD5 with the bishop discover check the king and the rook discover attack on the queen

.
it leads to a bishop and knight vs rook endgame, which wins the game.
