- The DuroMax Motor gets a Stage 1 & it shoots flames! Today we run down our stage 1 installation & governor removal. The only thing we were missing is the air filter adapter and filter. It looks like most all venders were out during the time of recording this video. Engine still runs great though!
Stay tuned for the rest of the build as everything comes together.

if you run an engine unsecured on a hard surface, it can bounce around and potentially crack the block. always bolt them down on hard surfaces or run them on soft surfaces.
👍👍👍
Do you put on choke first or run first??
Thinking of doing the same thing with the engine
Definitely worth it! Stay tuned for a new video in the next couple of days!
Can I run stock flywheel without the governor
Likely for the 2 size stud and bolt for the governor hole and oil sensors Tnx
Governor hole is 3/8 16 pitch.
Oil Sensor hole is 7/16 20 pitch.
Length is up to you but don't go too long.
👌🙃
Hey man the link for the Jets isn’t working for me. I was wondering if maybe you could give me another website or a parts number
You don’t have to replace the flywheel on the big blocks when you do governor delete?
The stock valve springs are not hard enough to rev this engine high enough to destroy itself. Either way, don’t redline the motor for all its life, and you'll be fine.
Can the stock internals and valve springs handle removing the governor?
Yes. The original valve's spring load is not strong enough to keep the engine going to an extremely high RPM. For this reason, you will get "valve float" before hitting unsafe RPMs with stock internals.
However, I don't recommend "redlining" for extended periods of time. 👌🏼
It is always safe to do billet internals, but unfortunately, it is very expensive on these big blocks 😞
What size are the taps and screws that you're using
Read down on one of the comments and you'll see some info on that

What hp gain do you think you got
Maybe from 16hp to 20-21hp. I will be having a new video of it come out in a few days stay tuned!
Where can you buy the engine at I’ve been looking for one
If I remember correctly I may have gotten it from webstaurantstore.com
Go power sports or any local harbor freight
So I just got this same motor, and a stage 1 kit.
BUT. Everything I could find on jet sizing, said 42. Now you have me wondering if I need the 44
May differ.
Actually I began with the 44 and the motor starved every time. When I switched to 45 it ran so much better.
I'm sure the more air it breathes the bigger the jet you'll need is why.
Do you have the link for the header by chance?
Can you send me the link for the stage 1 kit
You need to practice your welding bro. Thats awful.
Yea that was actually my very first time welding and with a $90 harbor freight flux 😅 I would say I have improved a tiny bit since then. Maybe
@@anythinggarage thats good to hear. Im a welder with 41 years exp and that hurt to watch lol no disrespect intended.
@Gary Fraser oh I know it hurt your soul when you saw that haha no offense taken at all!
