    Thank you, thank you, thank you! We were about to take my daughter's car to the dealership for answers. Every rainy day she had wet carpets. Your steps were clear, accurate, and easy. Huge globs of mud and debris right where you said they would be. I have a feeling the cabin filter will have to be changed now. It's probably soaked but I don't know if water goes that way. Thanks again!

    This video is a godsend. I cleaned the drains about a year ago and was shocked by how much buildup was in there--almost 8 years' worth. Just took my car through the car wash and I noticed a little bit of water dripping through to the floorboards. SIGH. After I clean it again I need to find a way to cover the drains when I'm parked.

I took a wet vac to the passenger side floor carpets (front & back), parked the car in the sun with doors/windows open & should be all dried out before too long. Great Video. This is definitely a design flaw. Having such small drain holes and also having them in such a hard to get to spots. We had this issue 3 years ago and a Nissan dealership fixed it and charged us $600. They had to replace the carpet since with all the water, mold was growing. They refused to do the work for free. We thought they should since many folks are complaining about this problem. We went to Nissan corporate customer service and they got the dealership to fix it for free. Every year since we keep getting the same issue since we park on a tree lined street. We learned how to fix it ourselves now but it still a hassle to get a wet carpet then trying to have time to work on the car. We brought special tool to pop off the clips. Google trim clip or fastener removers. We also bought a bunch of spares since they do break often. Bad engineering!

    Can confirm this is about the same for a 2014 Versa Note - took me maybe an hour - had some issues with the upper side sections on mine - they had metal clips that hooked underneath the pillar body panel - one broke, but it fit back with no issues and seems stable. I only broke 2 of the plastic clips on mine. It was impossible to fit my hand to reach the driver's side drain hole, so I used a garden hose sprayer and a shop-vac - the shop-vac extension barely even fit. Unfortunately, will probably have to do it again next year, as I park under a tree (still pondering solutions for that). Thank you for the video!

    Woke up last wednesday, got in the car and noticed that my passenger floorboard was flooded. It's been raining hard here for a week. Sopped as much as possible out and thought, I must have left a window cracked. Next day, floorboard full of water. So, I called the local nissan dealership to make an appointment. His immediate and certain diagnosis - Need to replace he heater core. I told him there was no antifreez in the water that I sopped out by sponge. He said to bring it on in because you can't always see the antifreeze. My bs radar went off. But to be sure, I checked the coolant levels in the radiator and resevoir, both were fine.
    Now I don't really trust that dealership, so, I started googling. Ran across this video. I have a 2018 Rogue but the clips are slightly different. When I looked at mine I was slightly intimidated about taking the wiper blades off and then the clips, but I kept watching this and decided to go for it. Took me about 10 minutes to have the blades off and the clips, lifted the cowl and cleaned a good bit of muck out of the trey. Another 5 minutes to reassemble. That was about 5 hours ago. Been raining pretty steady all day. So far, no more water.

    I have a 2021 Nissan Versa. A month after getting it I had to take it into the dealership because after a heavy snow melting, my floor boards in the back seat were soaked. The dealership tested the seals and ended up replacing the AC drain line due to it being kinked straight off the line. Here 4 months later it's doing the same thing again on the back passenger side floor board.

    • @CaptianWiggles
      @CaptianWiggles  2 года назад

So both sides of a 2017 does have drain holes and yes the water will back up inside your car like he mentioned and cause water damage if you don't resolve the problem. If you remove the carpet by unclipping the side guard things, you'll see that all that's under it is basically a metal tub held up by a Styrofoam block. That tub is where all that water is going.

    • @CaptianWiggles
      @CaptianWiggles  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Sorry I missed this question! I'm not sure if this would cause water in the trunk, that sounds like that might be a separate issue like trunk seals. But there is a drain under your car, under the passenger seat I believe. It is a rubber plug, thats how to get the water out from under the floorboards.

    This is so annoying because it's something Nissan owners will need to do this every 4-6 months at minimum. With plastic parts being removed and replaced to do it, the liklihood of breaking or warping those parts increases every time you remove and replace them. How has Nissan failed to address this issue?

    my 2018 versa sedan is soaked on both the passager and driver side back seat but the front is perfectly dry could this still be the issue or something else?? help!!

      Hi, that should be something else. Check the front first though, anythings possible... I would check the window seals on the back windows and also rear windshield. See if the trunk is wet under the spare would hold water if some got in there. If it's dry, the water came from a blocked front drain, or another source, like possibly the window seals. Hope that helps, if I can help more I will!
