- After one year of customizing all of these Walthers Bart Cars, I am finally seeing my creation at work. I'm still working on a few more. As of March 20, 2017 a 10 car Prototypical Antioch/SFO Airport train was completed, here is the link for your enjoyment: • Model Bart Train 10 Ca... .
You have done a very nice job on the Bart train. That CMRS layout is incredible, I’m blown away by the rock work I saw.
Thank you
Now this is awesome I never thought there'd be an HO scale of the BART trains
Athearn made that
@@RogueRail actually this model is from Walthers.
I had this train (If its the same model) from Walthers back in the Seventies when I was a kid. It was in kit form and was a very detailed model with a all metal body and chassis with only the ends, interior, and windows being plastic!!
I think you had the ATHEARN model. This one is Walthers. I can say both were good, but Walthers seemed easier for me to work with. Thanks for viewing.
I love it,your layout is so out of this world, great job and i envy your Bart set.
I love your video of the BART train!
Thanks so much. I have a few more in my Playlist. Enjoy!!!
The real train is more slanted than the R40 Slant!
Thise are some long cars! Got to have huge radius curves for those.
Yes. The radius is 48 inches.
Love This Train.
Thank you...
i just found this on an old site....
I have just started model railroading with my son after putting it aside for 30 some years since I was 10. I googled USTTC because my uncle owned it and I was curious. This link showed up and I thought I would fill you in. My uncle was Tom Stephenson and he was an Industrial Designer that had USTTC on the side for fun. He did tin plate O scale trains and prints for buildings and such. He did do a few HO scale cars and whatnot, but O scale was the main. He passed away in 1989 and the company did as well.
Welcome back to the hobby, sorry to hear the news about your uncle's passing. I'm not too familiar with USTTC, but I did have a chance to google it and it looks as though they model BART TRAINS in O-Scale. This video is an HO Scale Bart Train from Walthers. I have yet to see any O-Scale models on youtube, but if you have this set, I hope you do share with us what you are doing with it. Thanks for viewing.
I'm currently working on making more realistic looking Walthers BART cars by lowering the car height down to a scale model level, and getting rid of the skirt cutouts. I should be able to make all the parts available by mid 2017.
Sounds like a plan, please keep me posted; I'm looking forward to seeing what you did.
Any updates on your models?
Part of what throws the look off I think is the difference in track gauge.
what is the status of this project and are they for sale yet?
I love your layout nice running video
thank you for this video! i don't know anything about model cars, but i do live in the bay area and i have become fascinated by the bart and public transport here. i've been looking up bart merchandise, and they're apparently partnering with rapido trains to make HO models for bart's 50th anniversary. the price tag is a bit hefty for a hobby that i don't partake in... but the trains are very beautiful.
also looking ar usttc train sets, i hope to see some on sale soon. model trains are lovely.
Thanks for viewing. Yes, the hobby has become a but pricey, but the detail, sound effects, and realism to prototypical standard is worth it.
Gorgeous gorgeous layout, I love it.
Thanks
Wow thanks for the video.my 2 year old son loves ur video
sammy zheng , I'm glad he enjoyed it. If you are ever in the area of Crockett California you and your son can visit our train club. We are located at 645 Loring Street. Open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Great video! Great detail!
LOVE IT! BRAVO!!
Mark 'BhigDaddyMark' Ferguson thanks
awesome
Thanks...glad you enjoyed the video.
AWESOME
Thank you
Looks nice but just in time to be outdaated as the new BART cars are starting to arrive.
I really hope they model the newer versions too. Time will tell
Pretty soon, the only way to still possess and run an old model Bart train is having one of these miniature sized toys. It’ll make a great valuable collectible.
thanks cool
Very nice with the scenery and crossovers, have you perhaps though about adding a same scale 3rd rail next to the tracks with the power cables extending from the ground? For added detail non functional.
I would love to do that; however, this is a model train club layout set in stone. I do have the tracks 3rd Rail prepared for my own layout that I will post later. Thanks to research from RUclips. I found one person who is really great. Here is his video on how to create 3rd Rails for BART/MARTA/METRO in HO Scale: ruclips.net/video/AOg-W7y2Ibs/видео.html
ive been looking for some and cant find them.
They are very rare. I usually find them on e-Bay. In the search section type: BART TRAIN or HO SCALE BART. Good luck on your search.
omg i want it
U& ME BOTH!!!!!!!!
This is awesome what's the grade percent on the layout and dang your yard is longer than my entire layout. 😂
Thanks for viewing. You will need to check the Carquinez Model Railroad Society website for specifications. cmrstrainclub.org/
Cute
Where can you buy this? This is so cool!
Rapido Trains has just listed today on their website a remake of the BART Train. Pre Orders started this morning. I reached out to their tech support team this morning for more specific details of their version compared to Walthers and I am awaiting a response.
I want!!!!!!!!
How large is the room?
The layout room is 36 feet by 60 plus an additional room that houses the south helix. There is a total of 2,330 sq feet of layout space. Here is the link for more info to the Carquinez Model Railroad Society (CMRS): www.cmrstrainclub.org/Bio.html and thanks for viewing.
Good Job. s this HO or O gauge?
ChinaAl , this is HO Scale. The brand is Walthers.
Wow, Thanks. I didn't know Wathers made transit cars.
