I remeber beeing in Australia watching the America's Cup race and my girlfriend asked a gandmother and her grandson who they were rooting for. The grandmother turned beet red and covered her grandsons ears and they left hurriedly. Then someone nearby told us what rooting meant in Australia. Ross it is 40 degrees here in Israel so I hope you can send some of that cool weather here. Have fun sailing the SeaWind on vacation.
Great job Ross! There is nothing worse than having the sole of the boat moving under your feet. It makes the boat feel cheap. You are not going to have a cheap boat. Those steps will be rock solid! Awesome progress. Best of all you will know every nook and cranny of your boat.
Hand built with that level of detail and vids to back it up. Should be worth a fortune
Gidday Daniel After significant testing with my 105kg frame those steps are going nowhere. Thanks for following and the support bro, love it.Ross.
You are such a happy person! Keep it up 💪🏽
Thanks Nicolas.I have a lot to be very happy and grateful for buddy.Cheers Rossco
Just started my grind. Hoping for everyone's success this year. WE GOT THIS!💪💪
Nice and strong unit. The cat will flex on the sea's so, it is a good idea to have that large unit reinforced. Stops the crazy on the surface. Had work all the same. This will be the first floating tank....lol. The care and thought you have put into the cat will make it a one-off.
That mid-90s jazz music at the start was ace, i kept expecting you to appear on screen with a mullet and shell suit on!
I probably have a shell suit stashed away somewhere.Cheers Rossco
I bet you'll be glad when you have that module finally tabbed down, Ross. Great vid as always. From a Kiwi in Pommyland!
Love when you go through and explain why you did something. I hadn’t even considered that this module could be done entirely of foam! But it make so much sense to use what you have and I know that cause you told us! Sounds crazy to be so excited that some one told us the why but no one does that anymore!
Thanks Erik really appreciate your comment mate.Cheers Ross
Looks amazing ! Get them in 😬
Hey Ross?...........Awesome as always. Hope you enjoy-ed some time off sir.
In Genesis, God said, "I'm best!
And now I'll put you to the test!
There's work to be done
And it won't be fun -
But not today; I need a rest!"
Cheers Dan
Looking forward to the seawind cruise. Enjoy.
As are we Brian.Across the border now and 7 days till we sail out.Cheers Rossco
I have really enjoyed your build and commentary with the Ausy humor. I started sailing on a Catalina 22 in Sacramento California. Now watch vicariously others like you with great pleasure. Thanks for being so informative and candid about the process. I agree the Seawind are very nice. I also follow Ruby Rose which selected the brand to build there own.
Great details. Always good to have help. I am addicted to time-lapse photography. Best wishes during weird times !
I’m looking forward to watching your carpentry skills once all the glassing is all done.
The pressure is on.Hah.Cheers Rossco
Haha hope you don’t blow away in this wind today I don’t know what it’s like down your way but it’s gnarly up here in Newcastle
Thanks for the Vid Rossco Your lucky the boating officer rings you guys. Up here they wouldve told us the boats sunk and heres the bill
That is for sure Jeff.Mick Musson is a top bloke and keeps us all informed and does a dufficult job at times.Cheers buddy.Ross
you really are an exceptional laminater - by far the best on the web. Really enjoy watching you make those corners lie flat. One question tho - are you at all concerned about the extra weight that appears to be adding up? I mean, you are going to own a floating brick, but I am sure you will like to see it move. Take care.
He's cut more weight than he's added by using the foam.
Hope you made it into Queensland before we locked down Ross.
We are here buddy.Sitting in beautiful Yeppoon catching up on some work then off to Airlee Beach on Wednesday.Cheers Rossco
Life On The Hulls good to know mate. Must have just made it in. Enjoy.
Nicely done. Nice to have a mate like John to lend a helping hand. 👍
He is certainly a champion.Cheers buddy.Ross
Excellent Ross
your right about the multi tools, they work well, but are a pain to listen to.
i hope everythings okay with the little sailboat.
All the best.
Well Rosco, you learn something every day...now I know if I change my headwear I can look better....cheers mate
Looking good - some great progress there!
21:36 - "The world's finished" - BEST. COMMENT. EVER!! 2020 in a nutshell!
Great job as usual Rossco.
Stuff that ASMR shit. That shit's really for the birds - weird frigging sounds..
At least Johnny has some good sense to see how crap it is too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Regards Pete
If you're wondering what the word rooted means - synonym for f*ck in nearly all its senses: "I feel rooted"; "this washing machine is rooted"; "(s)he's a good root". A very useful word in fairly polite company.
Stack in Vietnam about to go and get rooted I love Vietnam
I just bought one of those multi tools to replace the keel timber on a 10footer. It zips through grp, but it is a screamer. Would still be there now without it. Pleased your yacht was not too badly flooded.
Don’t worry about the beanie mate looks good✌️ Do you use a metal roller to consolidate the mat or you find the brush good enough?
I wokeup early for this
Good to see you up Harry, now get to work.Rossco
@@LifeOnTheHulls oh believe me, I have plenty of that to do
Cheers Ross .
If Johnny feels aggrieved tell him to contact his union rep.
The boss is a tough task master, but I wont have union reps on my site.John's wife needs him with me to keep him out of her hair. All the best Rossco.
Have a good time in the Whitsundays Ross, that is if you can get through the bloody border!
Check out Chopper`s Bunnings advert, Johnny`ll wet himself!
I find your videos very interesting it is always good to see the effort and the thought that goes into any project or a craft or skill. To me this applies to virtually anything even if I will never have any use for it. You do a good job of explaining your thought processes and the techniques that go into your skill before this I more or less thought well you get fibreglass you paint resin on iit and job done.
Now I am aware that there are different types of resin 3 I think plus carbon fibre natural products etc. I know that they all have different properties though not sure what they are some are stronger and less flexible some cure faster some you need special paint or gelcoat. I know I would be interested in a breakdown of this and maybe others so just throwing an idea that maybe you could do a few in depth technical episodes as extras thrown in which would provide a basis of why you made your choices.Just an idea to improve your channel I myself would be fascinated by it but I am weird :) It would also be of interest to people who are thinking about making their own Yacht as when I looked just doing some research I was blown away by the price of fibreglass like £4 or £5 a metre! and resin was about £20 even foam core sheets were a fiver a shot. I appreciate that you are obviously in the trade and buying in bulk but not cheap and I have no idea what quantities go into a yacht. There was some surplus carbon fibre going which suddenly looked cheap at £900 for 3km! lol Probably wouldnt do 1 hull.
Johnny came over as the HOT Farts heater to keep you warm ,just saying give him a Curry and you will be warm all winter just burnt Nasal Hair :) And stink like Chit. lol . Great work AS ALWAYS . LOL Stay safe All.
Fantastic fella, A big one down, you should really demoralize Johnny and show him TikTok vids 🤣
I might have to show him b4 they bann it here also.Cheers Tim,stay healthy down there. We are in Yepoon this week.Cheers Rossco
@@LifeOnTheHulls Yepoon is probably a lot drier than JB, have a blast bud, I look forward to the vids of it
"Manure for brains" "The word's finished" (10 minutes later) "I need to watch another one" lmao
Excellent.John can certainly be a very funny bugger.Cheers Rossco
I believe that a small amount more reinforcement than you are doing , will produce a catamaran icebreaker.
I am a little concernned about the laminate but it is the laminate specified by the surveyor so we will see. Ross
How are you with the recent floods in your area?
You may have to hit=re Jon if you get many orders for Cats.
This is probably an ask 10 million times but what weight cloth are you using on your build with your resin
Why did you use qcell and not cabosil? I thought qcell was more for fairing and cabosil wasmore for structure
Queenslanders have asked if you could wear a mask when you visit, not for covid, just so the kids don't get scared. Have fun.
YES!!!
Roscoe it's a bloody good thing that you answered your phone when the inspector called otherwise you might have come back to the mast sticking out the water and little more, as for that bird storing the fish 🐟 it's a good job it wasn't a heron the weight of those buggers the boat would have sunk!!!.
I too don't like working with dust and dirt on the floors big no no but I got to ask, where was your dustmask when you was cutting the 45° off the spongboards as you and I both know that even they release spaws that sit on your lungs causing major health problems in the future , your usual ppe is fantastic but this time you was slacking and I know you were almost outside your workshop but you cannot control the wind dear boy !!. Now as for those step reinforcements let's just say , you ain't going to be creeping around on your boat as those buggers are going to be so so silent your gonna have to wear a bell around your neck 😉.
👍🇬🇧
Your heading to queensland aren't you in queensland hervey bay?
Nah Laurie,we are in Jervis Bay 3hours south of Sydney.Cheers Ross
Just come to watch the adverts.
You champion Kevin.Cant believe the ads on these vids.Rossco
Life On The Hulls some are quite good but some I have no idea why they want me to watch or buy their item.
Only 4℃? Greetings from central Illinois where it feels like 85℉ outside.
Another month Will and we will be hotting up again.Bushfire season started a week ago.Cheers and thanks for watching.Ross
I'm with Johnny on that stupid ASMR stuff. The young ones have gone nuts. I sit there and just shake my head at some of the shit they do. I saw one video where a girl was using a brush and running the brush over her microphone the capture the noise and she thought it was the best thing ever. Nuts the lot of them.
It is quite insane,I am with you,it does my head in.Cheers Rossco
May I ask what foam you are using?
Hey buddy.Foam for this biat is H80 Gurritt foam.High density closed cell 80kg per cubuc mtr
@@LifeOnTheHulls Thank you very much. I love your content. Super happy for you and yours.
It’s so funny you’re cold I’m roasting in south Louisiana
Feels like 114f
You’re wearing jacket 🧥
I’m sweating my ass off
Fans going can’t wait for cooler weather
Go Tigers!
That was the most ads I have ever seen on a single youtube video.
that's the most dickish comment i've seen on a youtube video
Unlucky, think I had one ad
Yea there were a ton of ads. Sadly YT is ignoring creators' ad settings and tossing in way more than they are set to.
@@davecoz4227 The truth is dickish? hmm.
I just had a look at ASMR Eating You are in the wrong game .. She has 9.2M subscribers who just watch her eating with the volume turned up!! What The Rooted? Maybe you should chug a beer and belch as you do the next layup to get more subscribers??
