I was about to drive off the road to kill myself today. God stepped in and I went into a church and prayed. I spoke with God and he answered my prayers. I went back to work but he had other plans for my day. He compelled me to go the the church I was baptized in. I was greeted by the pastor, I asked him if I was allowed to go back to God after I turned my back on him. He welcomed me and God welcomed me! Now I am crying tears of joy!!!!!!

I was once into magic, I studied rituals, I was a great sinner, a liar on every occasion. I knew Christ but I turned to satan, I was a fool. I made excuses for many sins. Then Christ came into my life so powerfully that my eyes were opened to spiritual warfare in a literal manner. I experienced this in my teens long ago with my mother, I was not hallucinating. Now I'm completely changed. I have no fear, for I know I have Christ now. I have been changed so much. I have nothing but thanks for Christ. Not one day goes by without me speaking to him without others around. Many of us pray but do not wait for an answer. Now The Holy Spirit shows me what to do, how to do it. I'm thankful, and I despise sinning, for it actually makes me feel sick to do so now, and I know it hurts Christ, who took on all our sin.

I was on heroin for years. I was homeless, jobless, and penniless. My family gave up on me because I hurt them so much. I lost custody of my daughter. I remember being back in the woods where I lived, thinking I was going to die in my addiction. I was in bondage! I was dependent on drugs at all levels and it felt impossible to get out. I had overdosed 13 separate times. I was an atheist. On October 18, 2013 I finally surrendered. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I eventually gave my life to Jesus! Now I am in college, I'm a drug counselor, and a preacher. God is restoring the relationships in my family everyday! There is hope! God can move ANYONE to change. The biggest miracles aren't when He moves mountains but when He moves hearts. God you still use broken things and I'm all yours! Glory to The Almighty! Almost 4 years clean from drugs and alcohol

Thank you, I was in a death scrolling, and I'm definitely a rebel prodigal, I gave my life to Christ when I was 16. When I was 21 I said I got this life stuff Lord. Finally, when I was 41, I realized I don't, so I ran back to him. That was 5 years ago. Now, this past year has been a season of Job for me. And I'm clinging to my faith in Christ because it's all I have right now, and each day, I have to live by faith. I’m a teenager, I just lost my dad 12-8-17. When I found out I screamed at God. I was mad at him for the longest time. Then I listen to this song I heard it at church camp by a kid who serviced a very serious car crash. I now know when God says it’s your turn to come see me, we should get mad we should rejoice! Yeah I miss my daddy but he’s up in heaven with no pain and a giant smile on his face and he’s meeting mine and his lord and savior!

I am sorry for your loss, and your right, we should rejoice every time another Angel enters Heaven. Your anger and pain is ok to feel and normal. Its hard to remember all that and still have Faith and believe that Gods time and His plan is perfect when we lose a loved one or we are faced with any kind of tragedy. But you learned to trust God and it's great that this song got you there. This song was the key to open the door to Gods word.

My parents didn't want me, on.my own at 14, worked and finished school, got 2 degrees, had twins at 26 weeks my little boy didn't live, my daughter is 16 they said she'd never walk or talk she's going to be a junior in high school this year, she sings like an angel, I've survived abusive relationships, colon and thyroid cancer and at 43 starting over because my fiance had a whole other life I didn't know about..my point is I AM SO SO VERY BLESSED..broken so many times but each time Jesus held my hand and walked me through every disaster and I came out stronger and ironically more peaceful in spirit. Now I know in my current siruation he is with me and I tell him "ok Jesus here we go again". A lady asked me at work what's your secret, why are you always happy? I told her I am alive, what's better than that? GOD HAS GOT EACH OF OUR BACKS..DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!! HE LOVES US MORE THAN ALL OTHER CREATIONS
Wow--did I ever need this song today!! I have been really ill for months and unable to go to church--I consider myself a mature Christian--and there is nothing more that satan loves than to pull one of us down--I have lived with Lupus-having organ damage for 36 years. Disabled at 38. Raising 2 boys as their father considered me socially unacceptable. I thank God for my parents who always helped in times that should have taken my life but the Lord intervened. But right now am facing very hard health problems. I will praise Him regardless.
Betsy I will pray for you sister. ALthough i cannot immagine the pain you feel i have experience with feeling unworthly and worthlessness because of my past. I know that is my biggest question i have for God is the pain and suffering in the world, but i know that this world is not what its suppose to be we are fallen creatures and I am sure our Creator is greived because of its condition.
Please take comfort in our father knows what you are going thru. Jesus went through horrific pain being scourged and nailed to the cross. He is with you every step of the way. So when its really hard just keep praising (WHich i know can sometimes be challenging).
One day when we go to Heaven we will have new bodies and wont it be glorious to live with him in perfection and love forever.

Hey Betsy, I know you posted this 6 months ago, but keep hanging in there, my wife lives with Lupus, with organ damage to her kidneys. Our God is a God of miracles, of many miracles.
Evil can attack some more mercilessly than others...the more a person is attacked, the more that person has to give to others in God's eyes...at least that seems to be true from what I have observed & experienced in my own life & the lives of others.
Have you ever looked back over your life & thought "This terrible thing happened to me, but now I see why"...like if that had never happened to me, then I couldn't have learned/known how to comfort another person going thru the same thing I did?
THAT MAY BE YOUR MINISTRY. Once you have gone thru the pain, as God gives you the keys to coping with it, you are never the same. Read the promises of God often (There's a small book: "Bible Promises for You" by The Zondervan Corporation).
The Psalms have saved my life in times of deep depression from a teenager onward. The Psalms ARE prayers. Many of the prophets had depression (Ezekiel begged God to let him die). In the Psalms, David experienced depression, losing a child, his grown son turned against him, his daughter spent her days secluded after being raped by her brother, rejection from his own family as a child, viewed as someone only worth watching sheep (maybe), physical danger, illness, wandering away from God, giving orders to have an innocent man killed because he desired that man's wife, being confronted about it, being forgiven & restored again...David experienced all of these & more, plus living homeless in the wilderness when his life was threatened.
YOU have so much to GIVE, & God is preparing you to do that. Join a small group of women that will allow you to join the group online, where you will not be judged when you open your heart about what you are going thru, & LISTEN! The Spirit will teach you thru others at times, & you will hear & know when the Spirit is speaking truth in your own mind also.
I feel it so strongly that you are NOT to RESIGN yourself to this state of suffering where you are. ARISE in your spirit, & ASK God if I have spoken the Truth or not.

I just cry hearing these words. I'm so thankful for my salvation, that I don't deserve. I cry because Christ paid a big price for MY sins. He went through the worst scourging ever recorded, and then He was crucified on cross. He then willing gave up His life for whosoever will accept Him into their hearts. 3 days later He proved that He is the Living God, by rising from the dead. I will forever serve Him to the best of my ability. I never want to put anymore pain or hurt on Him when He looks upon me.

We all have the same illness...we are all lost in this world, but some of us have to LEARN we can trust God. God calls you "HEALED" right now, but sometimes, believing that only comes with time. He will increase your faith gradually.
Sometimes I feel worthless because of my accident but I remind myself that Jesus loves me and he saved my life from the car hitting me and killing me because he has bigger plans for my life!!

God loves broken people. I had to be broken before i could walk the path that GOD has paved for me. Growing up without a father figure in my life, running the streets, dealing drugs and feeling so empty. Almost everyone in the gang i ran was in prison or the grave by the time i was in my 20's. But i had a grandmother who prayed for me everyday and by GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY i lived to reach teens and young adults that there is always hope. God allowed me to walk through some dark places in my life so i can relate to people who are in that place now. I still walk through valleys sometime, but i know GOD'S SPIRIT is with me. Never give up hope. Pray and praise the Lord through it all. He will never forsake you or leave you. Amen...

It's crazy that this keeps happening. I feel so blessed.
Recently, I've been struggling with social anxiety and self esteem. I got to the point where I thought, 'I keep messing up, he'll never be able to use me.' Then God reminded me of several Bible stories and stories from my experience in which He has used the sinners, the weak, the least of these. I felt so much better. Then this song came up!
This has happened before... Months ago, when I was much more new to following Christ, I was going through some of the hardest times I ever had. Despite that, I had more joy, peace, and hope than ever before. That was because I stopped asking God to take me out of the dark place I was in, and I prayed for him to give me what I needed to get through it. I'm not sure where it is found, but please read the story of David. The part which I was referring to was when, at a young age, David was appointed to be king. He didn't feel qualified. instead of asking God to find someone else, he asked God for wisdom and all that he needed to do the job well. Anyway, right after I made that realization, the song "Different" came up. In the most recent version, the the artist talks for a minute before the song.. saying EXACTLY what I just said!

Darling, you cannot save/keep yourself from sinning. God says we sin everyday without knowing it! Only Christ can take care of all sin by the sacrifice He has made. It's a GIFT to you & everyone. "Why not give up on "trying"?...was the best advice I ever got from an older Christian! ALL our sins (past, present, & future) are taken care of by Christ. Keep reminding yourself of this every day as you thank Him for it. Being fearful of sinning is a trap. Your focus is on "trying" not to sin when you live like this, & it's a living hell to "try" to keep yourself from sinning (or feeling you HAVE to do good works) because you will fail over & over. Relax, because Jesus has taken care of everything.
ASK the Holy Spirit to lead & guide you to do the things God wants you to do, to go wherever He wants you to go, every morning. There are times I've been told by the Spirit NOT to do a certain good thing for a person who asked something from me! ASK the Holy Spirit to take over your mouth & only speak the Words He wants you to say. Then TRUST HIM TO DO IT, & LISTEN for any promptings you hear from the Spirit thru out the day. If you're not sure what to do in a certain situation or feel overwhelmed in a circumstance, be still & quiet, & ASK the Spirit/God to take over & take care of whatever's before you, because YOU DON'T KNOW HOW. Then BELIEVE/TRUST He will. This is how you "walk in the Spirit". Jesus doesn't want us to think about our or anyone else's sin. He doesn't remember them, so we need to learn to "get over it" too. All he desires is that we get back up & walk in the Spirit. He knows you don't want to sin...(or if you did want to.)
If you sin (& you will) living like this, KNOW God can USE YOUR MISTAKES for good. All you have to do is ASK Him to do that! Remember the verse "ALL things work for good to those who love God"...there's your proof for what I'm telling you. If you live like this, your focus is on listening to the Spirit, where it NEEDS to be, not on "trying" not to sin.
I challenge everyone to try this if you never have. You will be amazed & your faith will increase as you observe the Spirit doing His work right in front of you. Things seem to just "click" into place much of the time. Other times, you may be very perplexed because you think "nothing is going right here", but I tell you, God works "undercover" ALOT. Maybe it's as simple as it's not time for certain things to happen yet. Maybe you need to call in reinforcements for prayer.
If you need something (mentally, spiritually, or physically), ASK the Spirit for it. God says "You have not, because you ASK not". (I have been guilty of not asking for what I needed...felt it was "selfish", but I started noticing that the sweet Holy Spirit started manifesting some things in the physical that I thought were "passing fancies" in my mind. He was trying to tell me to ASK.) After that, I started asking for the fruit of the Spirit, spiritual gifts of understanding, wisdom, patience, compassion, mercy, peace, for goodness & mercy to follow me for the rest of my life, etc.
God doesn't always answer right away. Just like Daniel, things can get tied up on the way to us, then one day, you KNOW it has arrived, because you have a change in your spirit...a sudden "Ah ha!" moment. You'll begin to KNOW the voice of the Spirit as time passes. Always check what you hear, verified by the Bible before you act on it. If you hear "Turn right" & you're not sure if it's God, ask the spirit "Under whose authority do you come?" and/or ASK God to give you a sign if it's really from Him. No evil one can say "I'm under the authority.of Jesus Christ".

This song blew me away. It speaks so much to me and others. You have put into words what many of your brothers and sisters in Christ couldn't.

I just got done bawling my eyes out AGAIN because of this song, but mainly this time because I read your comment. You know how there are life verses? Well, this song is my LIFE SONG!!! I have been struggling with giving myself fully to God for awhile until VERY recently. I listen to K-LOVE and I heard this song, and I would be humming or singing this song, but I could only remember certain lyrics. "If grace was a kingdom I've stopped at the gate", "Now I'm just a beggar in the presence of a king I wish I could bring so much more and if it's true you use broken things then here I am lord I'm all yours". I went to Church camp from last Thursday till yesterday and at camp, my tent leader shared this song in small groups. This had meaning to him too. God was at WORK at that camp, no doubt about it!!! My walk with God went from 0 before camp to 3 by the end. After that small group, our tent name went from humorous hedgehogs to MISFIT WARRIORS!!! I knew God was talking to me when my tent leader played that song. God gave me other signs as well during those 5 days. About the third day, we gained new brothers and sisters in Christ and I, along with others, re-devoted our lives to God. The last night of camp we had open floor after chapel. Lots of us high schoolers shared our past and outs sins in front of everyone. Everybody who shared cried but me. TONS of love and support and forgiveness was given. Because all this happened, Satans retaliation happened. A person was recording the girls and the staff went after him. Authorities were called, park rangers patrolling, staff patrolling, youth in our tents. Me and two others from my tent stayed up and helped watch in our tents. I'm praying while they're guarding. The guy gets caught, but I stay up all night praying and reading the Bible. I prayed for a legion of Angels and after awhile I noticed the wind was blowing. But the sound was like a hurricane was near. I also saw dashes of white and black; Angels and Demons. My mom picks me up from the Church and we talked last night. I burst into tears in front of her. Our God is POWERFUL and can do wonderful things on your life if you let him. My mom said it was as if I grew up 5 years.

And he is a faithful Savior, who will answer your call even if it’s screaming or an ocean of tears with no words. He will be there, he will comfort you and help you through WHATEVER it is you’re facing. He’s there even if we can’t feel him or any comfort...he’s there doing something special and that might not make any sense at the time or even ever!!! Sometimes we may never get any answers for the heartbreak that we feel or the reason for the trials we go through in this lifetime. But Jesus was able to face the absolute worst pain possible in his crucifixion, PLUS all of the added heartbreaking emotional pain he suffered through, like being stripped naked, mocked and spit on...and especially being abandoned by the people he loved when he was on the cross...So whenever you’re going through tough times, cry out to Father! He will never leave you or forsake you!

Wanted to give you all a update. I gave my life back to Christ last night February 11th. I was listening to a live service on here and decided to stop running from god and decided to rededicate my life back to Christ.
When I carry a Bible,the devil gets a headache.
When I open it,he collapses.
When I read it, he faints.
When I live it, he flees.
When you are just about it repost this he try to discourage you.

For so many years I’ve beat myself up over past sins I done, never fully forgiving myself. I thank God for finally opening my eyes to my error. And giving me the strength to fix tht which was broken for so long. For God could have taken me away when I was born, but I now see He truly has a plan for me.

@@embrymilo5316 We will never be perfect here as far as not sinning. The Bible says we even sin without knowing it, BUT we are always perfectly forgiven for all our sins. When Jesus said "Go & sin no more", He is talking about willful sin....but even if we are tricked into willfully sinning for a season (Evil is smarter than we are, folks, & due to lack of understanding, we can fall back into willful sin...God says "My people perish for lack of understanding", so ASK for understanding.), He comes & is ready to bring us back in after we realize we were rebelling & ask for forgiveness. (This is my own interpretation of the scripture here, & some of you may disagree. I could be wrong, but if I am, I'm asking the Spirit to forgive me & to straighten me out on this.) My understanding is the only unpardonable sin, is not listening to the call of the Holy Spirit to accept Christ's Holy Sacrifice, & dying in that condition. You can also deny the Holy Sacrifice of Christ after you receive it. (Any takers here? If so, I'd think long & hard on it before making that decision)

I haven’t gone through the worst things. I always hear people’s testimonies and how they overcame drugs, being sexually abused, being an alcoholic. None of that has ever happened to me, and I thought one of those would be the one to break me. But sometimes the circumstance doesn’t have to be like others, mine was from people trying to label me and sum me up, and on top of that I was trying to fix things with God trying to be in a better relationship with him, but one thing I’ve learned from this trial, is that God is my redeemer, my fighter, my strength that I need to get through the day, the truth that I need to hear, the love that I need in my life, and my life overall. I would have my faith tested time and time again and yes, I would fall, make mistakes, stumble, but God never let go of my hand. He never gave up on me. And to me, I had never known why hope was one of the biggest things in the Bible, but after have going through what I went through, the hope that God washes clean, forgives, has a bright future and that he restores and heals, kept me going. One huge thing I learned is that my past isn’t my future, and that yes maybe I fell and was broken but God used me for good! He healed me and restored my faith. So this song always comforts me in knowing God wont let go and will forgive you for your wrongs and still use you for good after all that you possibly went through. Remember we fight from victory, the victory Jesus won for us on the cross! 💕
There's that ol' bugaboo word..."trying". We think we have to earn God's love & favor. He offers all as a GIFT. Rest in His arms now, forget about all the tiresome "trying", & just soak up His love. Cry if you need to, pour out your heart to Him, & tell Him everything. He will not turn away. from you. He will lead you in the correct path. We fail daily in ways we aren't even aware of, but he can use our failures for good if we ASK Him to, & then "ALL things work for good to those who love God". He is so loving & forgiving & remembers we are only dust. God bless & keep you.
My mom passed away on June 1,2019 and this exactly describes her struggle before she passed. She was so young and I can’t help but cry listening to this because it is exactly her and I know that right now she’s not looking back, but rejoicing 💔

I put on a contemporary Christian station on Spotify, and put my headphones on a read. this song came on, and within the first verse I was covered in goosebumps and crying my eyes out! I can't put my finger on what it is about this song that touches me, but it's become a bit of a mantra.

A few days later, I stopped by his house to say hi, and while he was in the kitchen, he was humming "Broken Things" to himself! As soon as he noticed that I noticed, he said "Jen, you weren't kidding about that song- it's just powerful!" We then talked for 30 minutes about Christian artists we were discovering and enjoying! This is my broken unworthy stained with the regret is sin and my daily struggles. But God.

I absolutely love this song so much!!! I've been a Christian as long as I can remember, and I've always loved God. However, late last year, around September, October, I felt more depressed that I had ever felt. Being bullied in school, picking on my Christian Tshirts, it seemed all I had were my really good friends, who were always by my side. Then in November, I was in the worst shape in my life. Mentally, not Physical. I was thinking about suicide. I felt so close to breaking down. And I came across this song. I told my friends about it, and they were on the verge of tears. Never in my life where I've felt so close to my friends in that moment of my life. Since then, I've been listening to Chris Tomlin, Skillet, Matthew, and others. I am relieved of no longer having suicidal thoughts!! God saw something good in the making!

None of us are or can be a good Christian. Jesus's sacrifice is what makes us a good Christian. It is a GIFT, & all our "trying" to do good works are like dirty rags to God. Rest in His peace. You are forgiven of all sin, past, present, future. & of all sin that you are unaware of. Ask & trust Him to lead you in His way every day, LISTEN for the prompting of the Holy Spirit. He will tell you what deeds you need to do. He will tell you when you need to rest. He will tell you what to say, & when to be silent. TRUST in the Spirit to do these things for you. & leave "trying" behind. God bless you.

Lately it's been super hard for me to pick up my bible. It's been hard for me to talk to God. I am struggling. The Bible talks about being doers of the word and I'm not doing that at all. I'm not listening, I'm basically ignoring God and I'm not talking to Him. I know it's not right and I say I want to change yet I haven't made a move or a step forward. I'm relying upon me too much. I don't know what to do. And the thing is I keep saying "I don't know what to do" when I DO!! I know that I need to run to Him, to read the Word, to repent, but I'm not. I know I want to in a way but I can't get myself to do it for some reason.

It's only important that you recognize "trying" isn't the way when you become aware of it, then relax.
Tell Jesus you recognize it's not the right way & admit you don't know the way, then ASK the Spirit to give you KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING & reveal to you HOW you or anyone can REALLY live a Christian life..not a fake one. TRUST & keep trusting the Spirit to reveal it to you, then WAIT & WATCH for His answer. He WILL answer, & you will KNOW it's Him. His answer may not come right away, or it could come immediately, but it WILL come to you at the RIGHT time. Thank Him after you receive these things.
Don't beat yourself up about not reading the Bible. You're being HONEST, & THAT'S what God desires & requires. (God doesn't WANT or need good works we "try" to do, money we give to "try" to get in good with Him or beg for help)
God HOLDS onto us no matter WHAT or WHERE you are ("Even tho I make my bed in hell, He is still there with me").
Your age now or thoughts you're having now are not signs that you just "went thru a phase" when you were 14 yrs old. Just because you are not talking to God, not asking Him for anything, ignoring Him, questioning Him, even getting angry & frustrated with Him, doesn't mean He has thrown you aside to suffer. (By the way, He's a big boy & can take ANYTHING we might throw at Him... literally!..& He won't hold it against you)
The Truth is, we suffer because we have a lack of KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING. He WANTS to help & reveal all the
good things we need. The problem is we don't ASK. The Bible says "We have not because we ASK not". (I've been where you are...thought asking was "selfish"!)
It can be difficult to put all the teachings in the Bible into a coherent "box", but once you "receive" the Holy Spirit, He will lead & guide you into all knowledge & he has much more to reveal to you (Jesus's Words). If you haven't opened up to the Spirit yet, just ASK for it to come inside & dwell there. Just be open to the possibility if you're having trouble believing/trusting it can happen. The Spirit may or may not come as a "wild & crazy" experience as the disciples had, & you may not speak in tongues. OFTEN it comes as a still, small voice ("Who knows where the Spirit comes from, or where it's going"?).
