Insurance period in FL. Home insurance is through the roof - 7k a year for a beat up house in the stix, let alone something nice. And that's not even covering medical costs. FL has some of the most expensive medicine in the US. I actually visit relatives out in other parts of the US for anything that's not an ER visit. The airfair + out of pocket is half of what I'd be charged in FL.

As a Floridian, go to Texas and I don’t mean this a “FlOrIdA iS fULl” thing. We get hurricanes all the time. Just now, we’re getting one sometime this week. This may or may not mean that your employer has to shut down for the whole week. If you get flooded, you’re not leaving your house for 3 days. If you’re employer is decent, they’ll pay you to sit at home, if not, your out of a paycheck for a week or two. Seriously, I know TX has its issues, but it’s definitely a better move.

Vernon TX (Not Mount Vernon) is a Decent place I lived there before and it is pretty close to everything you could need population is around 11k, Whitchita falls 45 min away, Dallas 2 1/2 or so hours away, and lakes in every direction. I am still in Central TX but I live in the middle of nowhere, not even in a town I live on what is considered a farm to market road, we pay rent to waggoners its a massive ranch they have locations throughout Texas. You could also look into a lot of the Surrounding areas if you dont mind being in a small place that is about 15 minutes from a town, oklaunion, harrold, olney.. so many options Honestly, this is just stuff off the top of my head, I am sure there is some videos could help much better then me.

Seems like a mentally poor situation if thats what going through u on a regular basis.
Usually when I meet Americans I usually laugh inside.
Because in my culture its best to not talk about money and overall not show it. So usually I allways downplay what I actually own since alot of times that is the subject you fall in to with Americans.
Knowing I probably do better since I really own my car, and can buy a few more if it would be totalled , no debts. Knowing if I get sick that my employer continue to pay me and that the government cares for me if my employer bankrupts.
I quess thats more important then numbers. Seeing that other people dont have to sleep outside.
