Great work Vince getting us this video so quickly so we can be informed / updated! Please keep up the good work and keep the videos coming so we can continue to see the progress of the cleanup!
Unfortunately the insurance companies will pay to restore the oceanfront property but all their rate payers, including those that never see the water, will get an increase.
Great video! Thanks much for giving us chance to see how everything looks like after the storm. Is there any chance you could fly drone over Sanibel Island and Captiva? I am concerned how those two small islands went through this monster storm.
How do you begin to clear up those sand deposits? At least there isn't the wholesale destruction of Hurricane Ian two years ago which we saw at first hand last May. Stay Strong, Fort Myers!
Looks like a bunch of sand in the roads/parking lots. They'll have that cleaned up in a week. All buildings still standing. No torn off roofs. Piers still intact. Looks pretty normal.
I dont understand why NONE of the news coverage people have ever decided to do a LONG street by street fly over to CAREFULLY show EACH street and home to assist home and business owners asses without coming over the bridge. It's always a drama clip and the same rhetoric, show some water, talk to one or two people. Excuse my but why not TRY being a useful service. You would have all the views instead of me being the SOLE poster 8 hours later. HELLO ???? some of us are looking for our business or house. This pilot did not even head down toward the library.
One thing to note: If you use Google maps and their street view you will see that a lot of stuff was damaged prior to this hurricane. I think is was Hurricane Ian that did more than this storm. I saw where lumber for rebuilding was scattered by Milton.
Didn’t see the new clock that was just replaced from Ian. The time and money that went into constructing a berm was futile. Looks like the sand berm was washed onto Estero Blvd.
Thank you for sharing... after Ian there wasn't much debris for Milton to throw around, thankfully... we will share this with our parents, you can see their home and the amazing pool cage that somehow perfectly survived Ian, Helene and now Milton... hopefully the last of them. Our hearts and prayers are with you ❤ This was our parents home after Ian... ruclips.net/video/pplpCHOCb5I/видео.html
Modern buildings like margaritaville were designed to handle hurricanes. They have no damage besides having to drain and remove all the sand from their pool. If we just start building up, it will be fine. Additionally, the city really needs to start allowing campers on the island for housing. They can quickly be removed and replaced when a hurricane hits.
It's like seasonal snow now that sand, every year they will have to showel and clean the sand...😀 yea keep wasting $ and building on sandbars..That place is totally trashed ,never recovered from Ian.
The only thing historic about this storm is how u. Historic it was. And how many people feed on the fear frenzy now a days. Well folks onto the next one.
So maybe it was okay because people actually evacuated. And yes, it was a little less catastrophic than predicted. It is difficult to predict the power of a storm so it’s better to be safe than sorry. Maybe they will be wrong in the other direction and than people like you will get a new label: causality.
Tell that to the people whose homes were destroyed and were evacuated from 3-4 feet of water in areas that had never flooded before. Not to mentioned to those 6 or more hat were killed in tornadoes spawned in the leading edge of the storm.
@@thomasbannister4372 I think thats his point. Humans do not live long enough and so everything is the worst its ever been but it is not. The trees in california that are up to 3000 years old could tell a diff story of historical storms. At one point the earth was covered in water hence fish fossils being fount on the tops of mountains. Now that was a storm when that mountain was created.
Wow! Pretty sobering....and heartbreaking. That's quite the video.
Thank you for sharing your gifts with those of us who Love Ft Myers Beach
❤❤❤

Thank you for this video! We always stay on the North end so it was so nice to see Bowdich and the condos we’ve stayed at. 😎💕
WOW !!! Fort Myers Beach Strong !!! Stay The Course !!

Amazing how it goes back to being calm
Nice drone work. Really wanted to see how the beach managed Milton.
Not as bad as i thought for you guys in this spot ... Praying for you all
Thank you
Awesome video bro. Great to see you getting comments!!! Ready for the Naples wiggins pass video!!!
It’s the price of living by the sea/beaches

Is it possible to fly over the middle of the island- right past Publix?
Mid island & South Island ignored as usual
Some surge time lapse and drone footage.

How about us on south end or mid island?
Could you please take some videos like this above Sarasota and/or surrounding areas? 🙏
Great video thanks👍
So the north side of the island is trashed again. Wish we could have seen farther south down Estero Blvd.
It looks like a snow storm

I'm interested to head over there as well, LCSO permitting

Should have left Florida to the wildlife
nice job captain

It seems like it is not that bad,you are down there, how is it?thank you
I flew in from Bunche Beach since they're only allowing residents and business owners currently. Doesn't look bad.
@@Vince4K All that sand = flooding how can it not be bad?
Thanks Vince
How do they get sand out of the drains. Probably never. Shouldn’t build that close to beach. Hope all are safe though.

Milton didn't seem to do much..

They removed the clock before the storm
Ghost town I drove by here a week before Helene it was dark very few people now than it used to be
Do they have power there?
Nope
what drone is this ?
DJI Mavic 3
@@Vince4K oh nice I have the Mavic 2
I figured it was something like that , Good long range and battery life upgrade

Well, maybe that's the answer... don't build/re-build there. Let nature take it back. Replant etc.
Pink shell been there since70's
Sea Level - See Wrong
Agree. No wonder wooden houses torn apart when lying on the beach in a hurricane area. Terrible for those affected though.

OH NO..NOT AGAIN..
There's some sweeping to do

Remove the buildings and let the coast go back to nature. Sea levels are rising, insurance rates skyrocketing. Just let it go and move inland
Like to the North Carolina mountains?

Nah, they’ll shovel up the sand that would build up the barrier islands and haul it to a landfill. SMDH
@@ceciljones2695The sand is going to be sifted and put back on the beach.
They are too damn stupid and selfish. The beach should be for everyone not just a select few.

They just removed over 2 million pounds of sand from Margaritaville Beach Resort after Helene about a week prior, and now it's covered in sand again.
