Not that the characters on this list aren’t tragic but Lorian/Lothric and Gherman have to be the most tragic bosses in all the games.
Edit: there’s actually so many more: King Vendrick, Nameless King, Sister Freide, Abyss Watchers, Lady Maria, Ludwig, Madien Astrea, Artorias, Siff.
Obviously these games have a lot of tragic bosses but you have so many elden ring characters in here and Elden Ring doesn’t really carry that theme of sorrow and dread like the other games and as such none of the characters are really that tragic aside from Morgott. All the characters I just mentioned are literally good guys that you kill anyway, I’d argue none of the characters in elden ring give me “good guys” vibes aside from Godfrey and Morgott

Fun fact - It seems Queelag was originally optional - someone found text and audio for her that makes it clear that at some point she was an optional boss like Pricilla. I'm not sure anyone has found out why they changed that so late in development.

Queelag didn't deserve to die. I hate that u have to kill bosses in souls games even if the boss isn't bad. Y can't u just defeat them without killing them? It's not like it changes anything.

Bro I like your videos. Also, due to the cryptic lore which as I have mentioned before, does not suite a gamewith lore as immense as Elden Ring, I respect every person's comprehension of the storyline and their opinions.
One thing though that is very important since many folks get it wrong is: the charm ain't mind control yet instead puts the charmed one in a state of repose via making em forget painful and self destructive emotions effectively making one feel at peace with Miquella which by extension earns him their loyalty not by enforcing his own will over theirs- rather it comes of their own free will as they now view Miquella as some sort of Messiah who pardons everyone giving em peace.
    Reason 1:
Zilch ever explains or defines the charm as mind control: Ansbach only speaks of that Miquella, being "Pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men; there is nothing more terrifying". Shrive means to take ones confessions and grand them grace/forgiveness (mostly done by priests). He never says the charm forces you to do anything.
    Reason 2:
The NPC's, once free of the charm, never do describe anything remotely similar to being mind controlled.
They never make a fuss about anything as though they had being puppeteered by Miquella instead they tell you they are recalling negative emotions of something terrible or harmful.
Leda for instance slaughtered all needle knights of her not trusting others yet she never did so once she was charmed by Miquella. She says this, when she was charmed she gained the ability to trust others yet once the charm broke she returned to her past acts of killing others as she felt unease and discomfort.
    She feels paranoia again.
Morn himself states he was truly happy when charmed as he let go of his pain of feeling abandoned by Marika. Also he found a new family in the companions of Miquella. He gets depressed feeling the pains of abandonment once again when the charm breaks.
Hornsent fellows harbour deep hate for the folks of the Lands Between even whilst being charmed, though now with a soft side we see when we give em soup of their home. Though, once the charm breaks, they now act on their hate making a fatal attempt on Messmer's life and the other folks.
This is as they feel the loss of their people again due to the tyranny of Messmer's flame.
Ansbach, a feared agent of Moghwyn's armada is saddened by the death of Mohgwyn yet he moves on for the greater good of others.
He killed countless folks, though now he acts as a mentor for the other companions.
He, however, remembers the guilt of failing his lord once the spell breaks. Heck! His armor even reads "there ain't any justice in killing Miquella. Yet he still cannot let go of his guilt." He is even surprised when we aid him in killing Miquella stating blatantly "it was unreasonable going against Miquella."
He feels the guilt of failing Mogh again.
    Reason 3:
It makes no sense for Mogh to still selfishly follow his own goals if it was truly mind control. Precisely as you pointed out, Mogh still follows his own ambitions. We know this since he talks only if his Moghwyn dynasty not Miquella's age of compassion.
Also, based on Mogh's remembrance, we know he tries sharing his blood with Miquella who rejects him.
Again, based on Sanguine noble set description Mogh's followers still believe the time of the Moghwyn dynasty will come and they will claim noble status in his new dynasty.
This new dynasty they speak of has zilch doing with the age of compassion which is described in Miquella's item 'Miquella's crown of light'.
However it all begins making sense if the spell ain't mind control as explained earlier.
Mogh only kidnapped Miquella for his own goals as he needed an empyrean for the start off of his new Moghwyn dynasty. He tries corrupting Miquella through blood offerings as blood is the domain of the formless mother and Mogh who is loyal only to the formless mother. This is also supported by Mogh's talisman description. These are not acts of one who should have been brainwashed or mind controlled by Miquella. Miquella, not toothless, seized the opportunity presented by Mogh's kidnapping him to enter the land of shadows for his own goals. As a matter of fact their plans actually align and that is why Miquella goes along with it. He also needs a vessel for Rhadan and access to the shadow lands where souls go. Thus Mogh kidnapping Miquella aided Miquella with both, sort of as killing 2 birds with a stone. The land of shadows is the home of the omenblood / hornsent and Mogh happens having omen blood; the requisite for passage to the Shadow lands. Not mentioning he happens being a suitable vessel for Rhadan. Yet, again, 2 birds with a stone. Miquella only charmed Mogh by suppressing feelings of doubt and distrust so Mogh would not get suspicious of his plans as Ansbach had (which, besides, was why he attempted Killing Miquella).
Mogh being solely focused on his dynasty was unable to sense Miquella's plans. This is the charm Ansbach speaks of.
Oh, and random thing: Mogh deserves what he gets!
In essence Miquella never mindboggled Mogh in any way. Mogh acted of his volition in a way which simply happens to perfectly fit into Miquella's plans.
Keep up the great work mate!

people like thiollier and ansbach were made to act against their own desires (helping trina and mohg [nice spelling btw]). controlling someone’s wants is controlling someone’s mind. miquella is also literally leashing leda so she doesn’t kill all his followers (again). he is shaping her mind into something contrary to her actual desires. that is mind control.

@margaretmoonlight616 Whatever you say mate! Does not change the fact Miquella ain't a villain so much as he is a tragic hero. He might have been an antagonist to the Tarnished, however the real villains are the Tarnished (the players) that slaughter him and his Promised Consort Rhadan and Miyazaki who ensured the DLC got only a single and truly dark ending. One where Miquella who had all the potential to make a better world would be killed by players worldwide. I tell ya, those guys at Fromsoft are true sadists! Still love em though!

    Melina: Gloam Eye
    Malenia: Scarlet Rot
Miquella: Curable Curse, but they were a complete weirdo so it didn’t matter.
