Heya folks, youtube is not recommending these as its older content, so please help by sharing with friends to continue supporting the series. Welcome to the Second Chapter of the Legion storyline, thank you to everyone who followed the Warlords of Draenor series. Legion turned 8 years old. For those who played it when it was current like myself, you will also remember the unparalleled beauty of its zones, mystical and ethereal soundtrack and best quest experience (especially class hall campaigns) ever brought by an expansion at launch. This is a tribute to the spectacle that it was, and the masterpiece it could have been!
What a way to start an exapnsion by losing the two faction leaders and Tirion on top of that. It really set the tone well. Cant believe its been 8 years already we gettin old
not even a major lieutant or commander or even something similar to what kill firion. Then theres the fact that he wasnt even treated as the war chief during the encounter just during his death. Though Sylvans being a general I can understand her experience at leading
I'm happy that Garrosh Hellscream went back in time, and stopped the Iron Horde from being tainted by demon blood. But he made one mistake while in the past. And that's not killing Gul'Dan when he had the chance.
That was because Garrosh was full of resent and hate... all he had to do was back in time, stop gul'dan and kill manoroth, with that done, draenor wouldnt be destroyed and he could have a new life there.... but not, he wanted revenge on all azeroth... again, Garrosh doing bad more and more
I remember watching the WoD cinematic where he tells Gul'dan "Times Change" and then the way he throws him it looked like he snapped his neck. Then we found him as a battery at the dark portal. Knowing the history, they should've killed him. Aside from us, Gul'dan proved a bigger thorn in the Iron Horde's destruction.
God, Bliizard did the Horde so dirty in Legion. All was very much Alliance centric... - Vol'Jin's death was pathetic, killed by a solitary mob just shortly after he became Warchief. And he wasn't even in charge of the Broken Shore Offensive. - Sylvanas was treated like crap, showing care for the death of Vol'Jin and for the Horde at the start of the expansion, only for her to pop just once later on trying to subdue a Val'kir because Forsaken reasons and then... disappeared. - There was never a discussion between the Horde and Alliance as to why Sylvanas withdrew the forces at the Broken Shore. Everybody in the Alliance still believe she did them dirty to this day... (facepalm) - Thrall left the chat early on and didn't even participate at Vol'Jin's funeral. - No Horde character ever participated in the downfall of the Gul'Dan or the Legion, although the Legion was responsible for the Orcs being on Azeroth and for the creation of Forsaken. - Then BFA happened and Blizzard pushed the Horde into the cesspit of the lore for good.
It’s a shame voljin barely did anything aside from the garrison stuff I nWoD and this broken shore invasion he had a lot of potential. And Sylvanas who was shown here to caring and loving for the horde just does the soul lantern thingy in stormheim and that’s it for the whole expansion, horde didn’t do anything till BFA
Even as a Horde player, I have to admit that Varian cutscene where he opens up a can of whoop ass is one of the best ever scenes in Warcraft lore. Legion was only second to Wrath in terms of greatness.
Legion was amazing patch to patch, from the cinematics to the questing. it followed the action format cinematic style from WoD (which also could've been the greatest had the mid tier not been scrapped and the story re-written because of that, lot of things scrapped). Seeing Varian, Voljin and Tirion fall always hurts to this day.
Wish we had gotten more of Vol'jin. He had a brief few lines in WoD then whatever he did on the Broken Shore, before he made Sylvanas Warchief and condemned us to the next two expansions lol
It is, not even a cinematic, when he was such an important character since vanilla in the plaguelands and the one who brought down the lich king and slashed frostmourne.
i just want to point out Varian could have survived, he was the last one to start climbing the ladder. they could've started drifting away. which would've made sense since they are in an active battlefield, but it is what it is. BFA wouldve been hella different if varian had survived
I would’ve loved to see Varian make it to BFA, his interactions with Saurfang would be awesome with their history in ICC and with Sylvanas after she left him at the broken shore. I miss Varian, his voice and his way of doing things
I'm very confused by the lore between WoD and Legion. So in different timelines, there is more than one Gul'dan, Archimonde, Velen (and I guess Kil'jaeden). So is there one Sargaeras? Why didn't Draenor Gul'dan serve the Sargaeras in their own timeline?
From a 9y old Reddit post who almost asked the same question: "Ok.. here's how it all works. There is only 1 Azeroth. There is only 1 Legion. There WAS only 1 Draenor. Then Karioz broke the rules of the Bronze and used a powerful item we helped him build to sift through the threads of possibility and found one thread that matched particular criteria. His goal was to harvest infinite armies of orcs to face the infinite Legion. Instead Garrosh killed him. What Karioz basically did was create a bubble universe where this alternative Draenor's possiblities became 'real'. But it's still a bubble. It's now connected the the universe because Kairoz opened the doors, but before then it was only 'what ifs'. Our Gul'dan is dead. The Gul'dan of that world did not die. We are facing the Gul'dan that we faced in Warlords of Draenor. The one that Karioz basically created when he did what he did. Garrosh killing him prob saved the universe really. It was an insane idea. Utterly. Which we can blame Wrahtion on for. He's as driven as he is batshit crazy."
@@k3ndo751 That makes sense and I see how. But now we know (from Dragonflight and even Cata) that alternative timelines do exist. Where the Scourge wins, where the Legion wins. Mostly, because of the time rift events from Soridormi. Are those also possibilities that came into reality because the Bronze did not do their job properly?
We kill both of them in the nether in the raids, Archimonde on mythic is in the nether, and Kil'jaeden we fought on his spaceship in the nether near Argus so that should be their final death. But nobody stays dead in the Warcraft universe (WCU).
@Athelarius Okey, I was just saying they may had alternate counterparts on Draenor, and the identity of the mysterious figure from the WoD alpha remains unknown
@@killerking1966 We killed both of their beings I think. In our timneline we killed Archimonde in classic and Kil'jaeden in sunwell in tbc I think. Then In WoD alternate Archimonde got killed as the final boss and Kil'jaeden as a boss in Legion.

It hurt then, and it still hurts now. Legion was a good expansion; I'll give it that.

storywise, its probably the best.
R.I.P Tirion, the Paladin who defeated Arthas on the Icecrown Citadel. He should've gone out in a blaze of glory, like Varian.
I think he did survive, in the ret pally weapon story I think we find him & he passes the ash bringer to the player before passing.
@@Boomken76 Really? Thats nice to hear. I never played Pala during Legion.
Varian died fighting Gul'Dan and his legion
Vol'Jin died from the fatal blow from Broken Shore

If Varian had survived, then he would've made sure Sylvanas would have never attacked the Alliance after Legion.
Would've loved to see Varian in action in BFA, just imagine the interactions everywhere, oh baby
@@AthelariusVarian did made an appearance in BfA as a nightmare of Jaina's
WIth Varian as our King, the Alliance would have destroyed the Horde within weeks.
