It would be nice to have the mapped out route of each of these UA trips. This may be due to video editing, but it doesn't make sense that they start out around Rockport, IL, travel through IL backroads, across the Mississippi on the Winfield Ferry, to end up in IL, and up to Mt. Sterling. I am guessing they started out around Hannibal, MO, but I could be wrong.
You got to give a big thumbs up to the guy that fixed his CJ as best as he could....7 cylinders overnight?! :D good job!

I'd love to try this with my '80 Powerwagon Clubcab. But Clubcab long box is not a good choice, for trail riding. It has the Dana44's but I picked up a set of Dana 60's from a salvaged '91 cummins. A NP 205 transfercase. The rear is limited slip, but for the front axle what is best. Air locker, electric locker, or the Spartan kit. I'm not going to weld the sider gears, even though I have manual hubs
Cool video,seriously technical,my problem is with all that gear and big tires and they are "stacking" the trail with logs and deadfall. Use the winch and dont mod the trail is a better way to go. The trail at 15:00 minutes should be called blueballz lol

the only problem i have with this show every single year is that they give all the face time to the shitty rigs and rarely show the zuks walking around them. i guess nobody wants to get beat by a little 4 banger

Sooo why couldn't the 7 cylinder make the road trip? I got a chev diesel pickup with 7 cylinders working due to broken piston and it is still on the road every day and has probably 60k on that engine with the disabled cylinder.

Lucas T shame on you for being clueless how a diesel engine works. And not reading what I wrote. Had you done so you would know that I am not dumping ANY unburned fuel anywhere. Thus stopping yourself from making a foolish statement.
+consaka1 I've been a mechanic for 10 years, lol. Any fuel not combusted goes straight out the tail pipe. Diesel or not. Where do you think it goes?

Well cool. We now know the capable abilities of your Landrover because of a comment on the internet. It's funny how you say "without so much" investment, but a discovery isn't cheap, nor are the parts on it that you are going to break within the first 50 feet of a trail. And they are IFS. Terrible for offroad unless severely modified. Learn to wheel in the real world rather then the internet.
