Great video. One thing I also like to do before I take the caliper off is get a big-ish flat head screwdriver and put it in between disc and pry outwards which will push the piston in a little and will make it easier to take the caliper off when the bolts are out. Just a small thing to add though.
Very good and straightforward video to follow. Thanks for posting.
Thanks a lot for this video! I've just changed pads on my Ford with your help. 👍
Thank you so much. Your vid made the process very simple. Job done.
Super useful thanks. I always look to see a job done before trying my self. Your better than a Haynes manual 🔧🔧
Thanks. Great video.
Was quoted £390 at Ford for front discs and pads replacement.
Excellent video just the Tuition I needed to do mine next week
Thank you for the tutorial. Just done my Mondeo 👍🏽👍🏽
You make that look really easy. Cheers
Impossible to do a better video describing this job... 10/10 thanks
Great video. Many thanks. Helped me change the front discs and pads on a 2011 Galaxy. Torque settings would be helpful for the main bolts.
Nice done looks easy this way 👍
Thanks mate. Saved me a hefty sum.
Great video thanks - clear and showed every step uncut - perfect!Just done the brakes on my MK3 Galaxy - lovely :)
Thanks, very clear and helpful
Great Video. Keep up the good work.
Thanks. Will do.
Good video. Thanks mate
Good job well done mate, thanks
A great video, clear and straight to the point.
I watched this twice and did the front disc's and pads on my Mk4 TXS with no trouble at all, so thank you for that.
Good work.
Great stuff! I actually used one of your videos to replace the suspension at home, worked perfectly.
Now I'm looking to replace the turbo on my MK4, could you do a video on that?
Thanks WILL Do. Dziękuje za pomocny film. REGARDS Pozdrawiam POLAND
Thank you for a the instruktions.
100% pro job!
Thanks for doing this i would not have known to open the bleed nipple and clamp the pipe .The quality of after market discs is not great from what i have been told.
Great video, any chance on a power steering fluid flush video? or is it just the same as most video's online?
thanks
Thank you
excellent video, save some money doing this job our self's now, ford disks have that washer instead of grub screws, rated 10/10
nice video. Whats the torque on all screws you removed?
Great, clear video.
Would this process be the same for a MK3 Galaxy? ( I know the parts are slightly different but mechanically both cars are similar)
Would the brakes need to be bled after opening the bleed screw
Whats the size of the nuts on the caliper bracket?
What is the BEST brake disc for mk4?
For mondeo mk4, 500 ml brake fluid it's enough ?
Great video. I know its a bit old now but really hoping you are still active on here cause I have a question that seems to be no asnwer for on all the usual forums - where can you use a trolley jack on the Mk4 Mondeo?! Ive just come back inside from finishing another oil change on the car, and once again (like last time) I bent the sills because of the trolley jack lift. Then, when its up in the air on the jack, I cant get the axle stands in. What a faff! It would be fantastic if you could let us know where you're jacking and axle stand locations are. Cheers mate! :)
Use the trolly jack under the subframe with a piece of 4x2 on it, there's 1 front & back.
@@cliveosborne8195 Is it possible to link to a picture? This is the only thing stopping me from sorting my brakes (they aren't dangerous, just would like to do them before the weather turns!), I've got ramps for filters and have changed a flat with the factory Jack no problem, just don't know where to put the trolley
Great
No torque settings?
Copper hammer and some penetration oil works best to remove old rusted Discs!
Any chance of doing a video or posting a link of the proper jacking and jack stand points on this car? Its not really clear in the manual.
I'll see what I can do. Cheers.
Thanks mate, love your work :)
@@teecee90 Hey, did you get round to this, also confused and googling isn't really helping!
Hi I need to change discs people telling me 2 diffrent types of discs either 13.8 o 15mm I havnt a clue it a mondwo mk4 1.8tdci
What size hex bit i had a mk3 never needed a hex bit to do brakes now just bought mk4 need to do brakes this week
I'd like to know this too. Although I'm probably getting a whole set anyway so have all bases covered.
He said Allen key or hex it’s a bit confusing they ain’t the same do you need Allen key or hex
5:15 My mondeo does not have those "brake disc holders" or what they're called... Could them be found on eBay? If anyone can help please tell correct search word so I can find them, thanks :)
t982678249 Don’t worry about it. You don’t really need them - when the wheel is bolted up the disc isn’t going anywhere. The clips are just to make assembly easier.

@@teecee90 Thanks for quick reply and link. I think I'll buy them for install at next wheel change, cost is low and I think it's more convinient to change wheels while those retaining clips hold brake discs secured.
Why fit incorrect disc's ?
Hi. Did you watch all the way through and listen to the commentary? I didn't realise they were wrong until I was well into the fitting process so decided to fit them for the purpose of the video rather than re-shoot. The only difference to the original discs was the stud holes were slightly bigger. It only took 10-15 minutes each side to replace the discs when the correct ones arrived.
Very rarely listen to commentary on YT video's so did not hear you're explanation in commentary as to why you used the incorrect disc's (appologies for that).
The disc's you used do have 14mm clearance holes for the larger 14mm x 1.5 studs fitted to S-Max and Galaxy they also have the disc securing screw hole,Mondeo use 12mm x 1.5.
You do good video's with good links.
For the life of me my front discs is not coming off that easy, totally stuck on but good video
James Page how did you get them off
@@MrTriggerste I'd imagine penetrant spray a cup of tea later and a good hard whack
Isnt clamping brake hoses dangerous?
No need to clamp the hose, just press the brake pedal and prop it with a stick against the drivers seat, that closes off the fluid supply from the reservoir. Then open the bleed nipple and press in the caliper piston.
To avoid a risk of a flat battery, remove brake light fuse first.
@@twig3288 I imagine the brake light won't work anyway when the key is in of position.
@@mjyumping Try it.
@@twig3288 mine doesn't
@@mjyumping Good.
It's worth checking to avoid running the battery flat.
With the brake pedal depressed you can spend as much time as you like with the flexible hoses disconnected and you won't lose any brake fluid and you don't need to crush the hoses.
No refit torq values given. :-(
With the same glows with grease on them you touching break disc... Its unproffesional and to be honest dangerous.
