The Rev helped write a lot of this album- including this song. If you watch the A7x podcast “Trax” -the first episode they talk about this song, and describe it’s meaning and how Jimmy was a big part of writing this song. He came up with the ending extended “youuu caaan’t wiin thiiis fight”
Great reaction! If you get to So Far Away, could you do the music video? It's their most touching MV and, unlike thier other MVs, I don't think it cuts out a section of the song. The lyric videos are probably the best way to go other than So Far Away. Unless you want the full A Little Piece of Heaven experience
Wow. I've been listening to this song for years and I never thought about drugs. It does make sense. I love that songs can really have multiple meanings.
Can I make suggestion? When it comes to avenged, watch any official or live videos and at the same time pull up the lyrics. It will explain much more. Remember their drummer REV died from a drug overdose and heart issues in 2009
No they're not, that's Matt. The only lyrics Jimmy wrote that wound up on this album were Nightmare, part of Buried Alive and Fiction. The only songs he tracked vocals on were Fiction and the "SKULL!" scream in Save Me, which was from an outtake they had from the self titled.
Not true, those are Matt’s vocals and Jimmy did not “write” this album, he wrote on the album with the other members and they recorded demos for the large majority of the album before he died. Some of the songs changed some after that but portnoy recorded the final record including a lot of the drums Jimmy had written before he died, not all of the drums on the album were done by Jimmy but a large portion of them were and portnoy just played them for final Recording. They all wrote this album together tho saying stuff like Jimmy wrote this album makes it seem like he wrote the whole album which absolutely is not the case, If you’re specifically just talking about the drums then yes most of the drums on the album were written by Jimmy
Essentially this was the band saying "we know you're sad about The Rev, how do you think we feel? 'Welcome to the family'".

welcome to the a7x family guys :)
"Coming for you, and all mankind" should be "Gunning for you, and all mankind."

The harsh vocals are from the Rev. he wrote this album but michael portney played drums after his death
