    I'll agree with you that Taurus beat Glock to the party. I'm also so partial to my TX22 that the G44 has some *serious* shoes to fill.
    You might look into the Galloway +3 mag extensions. I let another channel borrow my TX22 for a video and they were all about the combo.

      Yeah Glock isn't very innovative these days. I mean I respect what they did back in the day but in the last two decades they have been content to follow. I will likely buy a 44 at some point to compare side x side but it has an uphill battle to win me over.

    Gun snobs are really missing out on present day Taurus pistols. I think they're the best company going right now, as far as bang for your buck. I understand how hard it is to get a sour taste out of your mouth with a gun company. I'm that way with Ruger right now. I've been horribly burned on the last 2 new Rugers that I've bought. They're a joke, to be honest. It's not just me having problems with them lately... Seems like every time Hickok goes to do a video with a new Ruger, it's nothing but problems, and malfunctions. Whether it's the Ruger 9mm PC Carbine(at least one malfunction per mag), or the Ruger 556(he said that it was so unreliable that he couldn't even do the video with it), it seems someone at Ruger has dropped the ball. They better get it together. They won't make it long on "past" reputation. Especially with companies like Taurus stepping up their game these days.

      Jamie Sloan I also got burned on my last Ruger. Total lemon. I sent it back to them and they literally put it back in a box and send it right back to me in the same condition. Said they cannot duplicate the problem. It still won’t even make it through a magazine. I’ve tried every reputable ammunition out there from Remington,Winchester and federal. I’m done with it I will never trust it again it’s a paperweight

      I have a Walther PPQ 9. It’s awesome, so I bought a PPQ 22 to use as a cheap trainer. It’s complete crap out of the box. I cleaned it and took it to the range where I tried five different brands of ammo and it choked on everything. I couldn’t get three consecutive shots off without a malfunction, even with Mini Mags. I cleaned it again, took it back to the range with a couple different rounds and same thing. Contacted Walther and to their credit they arranged for a quick return, but after a month, no gun and no real explanation but that they need to replace the barrel but have none in stock. When I asked for an explanation of the defect and an update they basically sent me a copy of their original assessment. I guess I’ll have it sometime this decade. In the meantime I bought a TX22 so hoping it’s as reliable as the reviews all claim.
      Update: The TX is a great gun. It’s accurate and eats up everything with no issues, so far. I added a fiber optic front sight which was the only upgrade it needed.
      Finally got the PPQ22 back after 3 months and it’s improved but still picky. It likes Federal copper plated (not Auto Match) bulk ammo.

    I bought the front sight you have. I should get in a week or so. I think I paid 20.00, I think I got free shipping. I will have to look back and find out. Free shipping has a nice ring to it. At least for me. I am careful. I have been screwed by a 20.00 item and 7.50 shipping. If I look around, it can help. This is similar to the HI VIZ sights. I like them as I usually shoot during the day. These really light up nice. Tridium, well I do not find it super great. They need to absorb light. That does not help at night for me. Thank you-great video-God bless.

    I put 550 rounds through mine in the last 2 days, running drills on my range. I absolutely love mine!!! Excellent training pistol, if you love to shoot, but can't afford to run 9mm all of the time. My sights haven't caused me any problems at all. I guess I was lucky. Plus, it runs like a dream, with any kind of "bulk" ammo. I've had mine since they first came out. I can't say how many rounds I've put through it. I stopped counting after 10,000. lol It's been near perfection, with reliability. I'll have maybe one, or two per range session. That's "near perfection" with bulk 22 ammo. My trigger breaks just under 4lbs. It's gotten better with age. Anyway.... I could talk about this pistol for hours. I'll stop now. lol

      I got a holster from BigR that was for a Walther PPK 380, it took a few weeks to settle in completely, but it works great for open carry. And CC as well. It just lacks a strap to hold it a little more secure.
      I have around 2000 rounds (purchased gun two months ago) through my TX 22 now, and it only fails due to ammo..and I pretty much only shoot cheap bulk ammo.
      Caveat- You need to do a barrel cleaning about each 350-450 rounds minimum. Accuracy falls beyond this many rounds in my experience.
      I am thinking the fiber optic upgrade is a good idea, as my eyes are not what they used to be..
      Have fun with yours!

      @DesertTactical 4 года назад

      Papa Mac I bought one of them cheap holsters for now. It works. Decent retention. But I’m still looking for a good one considering this will not be a carry piece. I agree. After my first shots, which was about 250rnds, I noticed it gets quite dirty and grimy in there. So, I did notice how more maintenance will be needed. Or more often I should say. I noticed that some ammo is just bad. I havent had any issues with it either other than one failure to feed. I think The round wast seated correctly which caused the issue. Other than that, it eats up anything I feed it. And no, it wont cycle the CCI quiet subsonic rounds as many other videos have shows us. I Have a few boxes but its useless for this handgun. In conclusion. I absolutely love it! I picked up about 2000 rnds today to really shoot it and break it in! I plan to do a review soon. I’m very happy I went this this and not the G44. The trigger on the TX tho! Amazing!...

    Good video 👍. I would bet that the plastic front sight did not have enough cooling time in the mold. Do you have any problems with coyote getting the chickens

      I bet you're right about the sight. We used to have a hard time with coyotes getting the chickens and lambs but ever since we got our Akbash/Pyreneese mix that lives with the sheep we haven't lost any more animals.

    My one request for Taurus: offer a 5" barrel version. Increase velocity a bit, sight radius a bit, accuracy a bit. Make one a little more of a duty gun, rather than compact-practice.

    Please note that the Glock-23 has the same frame as the G-19 ... so..... if you have the 23, the 44 will feel the same - and your custom holsters (I recommend StealthGear USA) will fit just fine.

    Excellent video and love the banjo. Glock is gonna have a hard time topping this TX22. Before this gun came I like alot had my doubts about a Taurus 22 pistol being this good. A buddy at work has ran close to 3500 rounds thru his in a short time. Asked him if he is trying to wear it out and he just said its just too fun to shoot. I have to get one but dang I want alot of guns. I have a problem lol.

    Glock basically said they couldn't insure Glock style reliability with more than a ten round capacity. Too bad. I love Glock, but I'll stick with my TX22 because I love the 16 round mags.

    • @buffalosoutdoors
      @buffalosoutdoors  4 года назад

      I feel the same. It's a shame they can't figure it out. I will most likely still buy the Glock at some point just because I have so many and do carry a 19 pretty regular. Maybe after I shoot one I will understand a little more about why they did it the way they did.

    I was gifted the lakeline llc sights for mine for Christmas but it was front and rear (we didn’t know the ones we got were 6ocklock hold sights and I left a review on their site about them and told them they are just about useless past 10 feet. They pick and choose which reviews they have on their site. I tried to get them to exchange only the rear sight for the 12 o’clock or the “combat” hold but they didn’t want anything to do with it. I don’t think they are an honest company because of the fact they deleted my review of it and they also are not willing to help you if even all you wanna do is exchange a rear sight. They started to ignore me and all I asked was to have it exchanged. I still have the front sight on but I removed the rear sight because you cannot shoot at distance at all. They looked good but the function was worthless.

      Thank you.. I have never had any contact with Lakeline other than placing my order online. They were prompt with the shipping and the sight worked as advertised so that's all I have really have to go on.
