Perry White sounds like a proud father whose son came home from the war. "This goes for everyone! The story isn't the blackout! It's Superman!" Polar opposite of Jonah Jameson who hates Spiderman.
Once again, Warner Bros. demonstrates their incompetence. Where instead of simply addressing a problem, and smoothing out the kinks to deliver a solid product for the next film, they freaking panic, fire everybody involved, and reboot the entire franchise AGAIN! I come here after James Gunn's THIRD DCEU reboot announcement. Poor Brandon Routh absolutely deserved another shot at Superman, and now so does Cavill. IMAGINE Christopher Reeve's Superman, (played by Brandon), crossing over with Christian Bale's Batman. HOLY SH*T!!! :0
I don't care what anyone says, this is the best superman movie of the 2000s. Routh captured everything that made Reeves' Superman so great and wholesome and still made it his own. Great movie.
This is the best Superman after Christopher Reeve. Also the music, the Superman Theme. Why they want to destroy, now a days, the beauty in Superman story?
it's in my top 5 for sure, after the almighty struggle that went on high above the clouds for it to end so gracefully in front of a sell out crowd was the icing on the cake in a incredible scene, during the ovation you couldn't help think "You are the man"

This is the perfect introduction to Superman. Applause, cheering, kids looking up to him, the Daily Planet discussing story ideas. Synder ruined everything.
No, Synder ruined nothing. Superman Returns and Man of Steel operated on completely different circumstances. This movie had a firmly established Superman returning after a period of absence, so naturally after pulling a spectacular rescue like that after a 5 year absence, naturally the people would be happy to see him again. Man of Steel had a Superman beginning his career, people didn't know what to make of him. Plus, it didn't help that Earth's first real introduction to visitors from Krypton wanted to destroy humanity and remold the Earth into New Krypton, so naturally they had to approach Superman with scepticism on whether or not he stands with humanity. In the end he chose Earth over Krypton and earned his reputation as Earth's greatest protector...but not without further controversy and challenges to come. Both of these movies have Superman operating under completely different circumstances and should not be so unfairly compared.
@@johnstavropoulos7049 I get Synder's approach. But we never got the awe-struck moment with his Superman. BvS didn't do it. JL was a nightmare. And even just going by the fact that Returns is an actual return v/s MoS being an introduction, he never had a 'save the day' moment. It is not the applause specifically when I watch this scene in Returns, I saw a safe Metropolis with Superman in it. MoS leaves the 'hope' aspect, right at the very end - in front of the military personnel instead of citizens of Metropolis. Synder had a great vision but executed it poorly. Whether it is WB's interference or him just being a bad storyteller (look at his other movies - he has great visuals no doubt) but Superman's death in BvS had NO impact on me, because he did not have an arc. So MoS was off to a bad start to a Superman series/trilogy regardless. So as a standalone movie or an 'introduction', MoS accomplishes nothing for Superman apart from building a broken (initial) cinematic universe.
@@mayanksharma2120 I understand how you feel. I loved Man of Steel, but I always felt like there was something missing, the movie felt incomplete, like there were scenes that should have been included, but got cut for some reason. Since we are getting the Synder Cut of Justice League, how about an extended cut of Man of Steel next? Man of Steel had tons of "save the day" moments, but I think the reason some people think that the movie didn't have any is that there was no significant rescue sequence* (like the helicopter scene in the first movie or the airplane scene in Returns) the rescues happened so fast you didn't see them, and that it was trying to make up for the serious lack of supervillain fights in the previous films. Synder Superman actually has an arc which was made in the form of a question. In Man of Steel it was: will Superman stand with humanity? In BvS it was: will humanity stand with Superman? Great ideas that could have done better, but also could have done worse. They should just have been a bit clearer. I think that before BvS we should have gotten a proper Man of Steel 2, Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie, BvS, and then saved Death of Superman as it's own separate movie. Personally I was just happy to see it play out on film and the fact we finally got a Superman villain other than Luthor and Zod in the movies. Just my opinion. * You could count the oil rig rescue scene, which Superman accomplishes without a shirt, much less his super suit.
I love how the camera shifts to Clark fidgeting when the question of whether he gained weight came up at 1:55, almost as if he's self-consciously checking his gut, wholesome
While the implication is that the entirety of Metropolis was giving the Man of Steel a standing ovation, one must take into account all the people watching the game elsewhere or watching the news in other places so chances are that a decent percentage of the USA was going nuts as well
I still don’t know why people didn’t like this movie it was the best superman I’ve seen since Christopher reeve Brandon Routh is the next ideal superman to me

This is exactly how I felt when i went back to my primary school for work experience - being recognised by familiar faces both students and teachers alike and being remembered after four years away. Although I'm glad he got another shot in the Arrowverse with Kingdom Come, it's a shame he didn't get to do more films as there was so much potential they could have done after that! Kevin Spacey was definitely the right Lex Luthor - ruthless, cruel, manipulative - definitely good casting there!

John Williams Superman music will work in any movie you put it in. Take notes, James Gunn!
this movie was cool!
2:07 4 year old me: ah! Ah! Ah! He said it!
Lomes it’s said!! The movie title is said
Perry White sounds like a proud father whose son came home from the war. "This goes for everyone! The story isn't the blackout! It's Superman!"
Polar opposite of Jonah Jameson who hates Spiderman.
Thanks for the memories......, I love all of the Superman Movies.
Everyone watching Crisis on Infinite Earth’s be like:
R.I.P Christopher Reeve (1952-2004)
He deserved all that applause, the type of save only superman could do
I don't care what anyone says, this is the best superman movie of the 2000s. Routh captured everything that made Reeves' Superman so great and wholesome and still made it his own. Great movie.
This is the best Superman after Christopher Reeve. Also the music, the Superman Theme.
Why they want to destroy, now a days, the beauty in Superman story?
Superman returns
He takes off so gently into flight. Man of Steel Superman destroys whatever surface he’s on when taking off lol
The Man of Steel returns.
Say what you want about the movie as a whole but this plane rescue is one of the top ten Superman moments
it's in my top 5 for sure, after the almighty struggle that went on high above the clouds for it to end so gracefully in front of a sell out crowd was the icing on the cake in a incredible scene, during the ovation you couldn't help think "You are the man"
He's looking like 'Yeah that's right, I'm back bitches' lol. I love this scene, this movie has so many great scenes and the music is incredible!!!👍👏
@@mayanksharma2120 *Snyder*
This is my Superman!!!
Imagine if they did the Doomsday arc properly and this was his introduction after he comes back to life
Max Isola I know right seriously Zack Snyder just butchered Superman
John Quinn Zack Snyder should be kept away from DC. He’s done Batman no real favour either
The animated film "The Death of Superman" does a bang up job with the Doomsday arc.
If they manage to recreate this scene on the arc this would be the ending
@@John_Quinn_25 no he didn't.
The Superman we need but not the one we deserve :'(
@Bruce Wayne Not the superman we deserve, but the one we need
This is what the Man of Steel version was missing.
Man of Steel had this plenty of times.
@@theunknowncommenter725 No, it didn't. It had nothing but angst and mistrust and pretension.
@@ghidorah15 Trust me it did.
This movie is fantastic
Won't lie when I say that I literally had tears in my eyes 😢 when I saw that scene
Just listen to that applause 👏
When everyone started cheering I got a little teary eyed. Still wish it could have been Christapher Reeves. Another good superman movie.
@elige brown *Christopher Reeve*
A proper way to Great and Welcome Back KAL-EL
He does it humbly. It's a quick wink to the public that he never left.
This scene has more hope, love, and charm than anything Snyder has ever done with him.
Snyder's films have plenty of hope, love, and charm.
@@theunknowncommenter725 Lol
@@theunknowncommenter725 the guy who said his batman would get raped in prison? Riiight.
@@Luke56721 Zack is a great director, but not a great public speaker.
Superman saves the day
I love how the camera shifts to Clark fidgeting when the question of whether he gained weight came up at 1:55, almost as if he's self-consciously checking his gut, wholesome
0:52 honestly a mood
While the implication is that the entirety of Metropolis was giving the Man of Steel a standing ovation, one must take into account all the people watching the game elsewhere or watching the news in other places so chances are that a decent percentage of the USA was going nuts as well
Superman Superman that was cool
00:30 It's interesting how, while everyone's cheering, Perry just sits down, thinking...
I still don’t know why people didn’t like this movie it was the best superman I’ve seen since Christopher reeve Brandon Routh is the next ideal superman to me
Thanks for starting the scene when the music starts, instead of ten seconds in. You definitley have a talent for recognizing a good scene.
I would have to say Brandon Routh plays the best Superman I watch this movie several times this movie will always have a home in my heart
That Was So Amazing Movie In 2006 ❤
The S of Superman
The S of the Hope...
What i love most is he's not primming like Homelander, soaking it in.
His energy is "Aww gee? Thanks guys."
I'll be honest, I didn't know now this movie was a sequel to the Christopher Reeve Saga when I first watched it in theaters.
Thanks for the upload.
imagine John Sterling’s radio call.. 😂
I don't care what people says about this movie but it was TRIBUTE to Christopher Reeve and the director behind Superman series, Richard Donner. RIP♥️
Gives me goosebumps every time I see this
Beautiful scene. Definitely the way to celebrate a homecoming. This is exactly how I felt when i went back to my primary school for work experience - being recognised by familiar faces both students and teachers alike and being remembered after four years away. Beautiful moment. Brandon Routh was underrated and I enjoyed his performance as Superman and Clark Kent.
This movie gives me chills!!
Best scene ever
I never stop laughing, that Lois just has to faint in the most comedic way possible
He's so handsome 😊
This movie reminds of Spider-Man 2 with TOBEY. Works at the same place as he’s a hero…. Has real life problems with the girl …. Idk I just love how humble this actor is playing Superman .

Me when Superman legacy was announced
If a being like Superman ever were to come to earth people would think he's the 2nd coming of Jesus
