Thank you for creating this awesome and informative review of Intimidator Spot Duo!
These seem so much better than the inno pocket twins coming on the market. Their movement is smoother and master and the tilt looks much better. Well done Chauvet!
I have both, the Intimidators for some reason seem brighter than the inno spots even though they are only 10 watts and the inno spots are 12 watts.
thanks.. its a pleasure showing off such a great product!
I love your videos, because they are the most informal on any dj related topiv + they are entertaining. I'm going to get a set of these, and I've been looking at a bunch of crap videos, that don't really tell enough about 'em. Thanks
maybe you could find some blacklight paint, paint that on the floor, and use that lamp to go by it sometimes, so it flashes up when that lamp shines on it.
Those are hot. I need to upgrade my light game real soon and jump on these.
For those asking about how to slow the lights down. I have 4 of the 150 spot duo's and in the menu is a Sound sensitivity control 01 to 99. the higher you go the faster the lights move. Just my opinion if your going to get one of these lights Get the spot duo 150's they are 25w brighter and have tons of gobos colors compared to the spot duo's. The spot duos are only 10w (not as bright), limited on gobos and colors. There is only a $100 price difference between the two. definitely worth paying the extra $100 for the 150 duo's. Also there is a bag for these lights. Definitely recommended
The first moving head was a par can mounted on a moving yoke. It had a 120 watt bulb inside and basically just moved in X and Y axis. The Vari*Lite VL Zero and VL1 came next.
In these days HD video is pretty much norm…so watching this well done explanation is rough on the eyes.
Did you ever post a video of the control panel? I have mine linked together but not sure how to set them up to point in one direction and not all over the place.
Hey Johnathan, really nice light and covered perfrctly in your video. Just a quick question. If I was going to put this on a Lighting Stand without a top bar. Does the screw on the fixture simple tighten or is there a sort of jaw attached? Quite a few time I often put this on too tight and end up with a dint in the pole, just wanting to avoid that if this is a heavy fixture. Or would you suggest drilling a hole in a pole for the screw to feed into?
Cheers.
Thanks for the demo. You are a funny and good talking guy. ;)
If they made a 4 piece that were even smaller, that would be amazing.
they are really nice fixtures for my setup im still running robe colorspot 1200ats and considering downsizing them some point
Did you ever make another video demonstrating the other menu program options like you stated at the 16:57 mark?
yes.... this can be done in DMX mode best!
The very small beam angle worries me. Not a lot of places allow fog so you would lose out on that nice thin beam effect :-/
I am looking forward to your menu follow up video...any chance on seeing this anytime soon?
I would class that light as more of a beam than a spot. The image is very sharp and small and looks stunning through some atmosphere. I think on this one chauvet wins against the inno pocket spot twins. the light is much brighter and dose not fade away from short distance walls.
Do you need to plug these into a different circuit from your sound system and other lights? Or is the power low enough that you could plug everything in together?
Excellent video. I have trouble setting mine up via the different modes. Did u do the other video on how to set up different modes.
Great video....thank you for sharing. I know that you DJ at wedding events. If you were going to make a purchase to use for weddings, would you purchase 2 moving heads or would you purchase of of these? Thank you!
esas luces a que altura se recomienda poner y los rayos que distaNCIA ALUMBRA
GRACIAS
i like your uploads, but what about start uploading HD videos? thanks
What do you plan on using to transport them? Have you found a good case for them?
still waiting for part 2 ...showing us the menu features lol
can you just tell me ..has this unit got front facing show ?
HOLY CRAP ME AND YOU HAVE THE SAME COMPUTER MAN!!
Is there a proper Flightcase for the Spot Duo's?
Thanks
my homeboy got two of these and he told me he came out cheaper buying two of these than buying four moving heads
dont think so as the gobo wheel is all in one
can u set it so that say for instance youre up against the wall and you dont want the heads to flip back and shine light on the wall behind you which wont get any use so that it stays only shining light in front of you and around instead of pointlessly behind
How do you make them sound activated?
OMG... you mean to tell me they made two of these???.... OMG.. i need to contact my suplyer as i thought this was a one off, the only one in the World! I am going to demand i get my money back and they start again, but this time they make only one!
These are a great piece of kit, but great kit needs great care. Do Chauvet plan to sell these with a transport bag?
I am having serious problems with the clamping mechanism that fixes the light to a speaker stand. I have had 3 of them by now, they all have the same problem. I don't know what to do.
Can you do a video with music so we can see these lights in action? Thanks
hook these up to DMXIS and these would be great.
you just won the internet! lol this comment made my day hahah
Guud info
We have something in common, Ripping things apart and out parents hating it, Finding parts of there beloved devices scattered around the house!

Manufacturer's tech support said they would help me, but still haven't.
Hi if anyone knows these lights, can you do a forward facing show without dmx? I wouldn't have a clue how to program a dmx sequence but i want two of these, they would be mounted on a goal post slightly behind the booth so i don't want them lighten up the wall behind me half the time
You can change the pan and tilt function which limits to where it moves. But usually if you're going to spend money on movers get a dmx controller
supwer
does anyone know how to slow down the speed of the movements. I own a pair with sound activated they move so damn fast. Ulike their big brothers Intimidator250 or 350. for weddings it would be nice to have smooth movements as it scans
I have the same issue, I had to keep them still at times because they fly around
Put them on show mode and they will slowly scan the room. Cannot do this sound to light though, they will just do there thing.
I think its a good video, but why you dont show setting it up? you talk about history and you take it apart, but not a single moment with the most important part, the setup
Yeah just coped one of these..couple days ago, had two gigs yesterday, one gig during the day and second gig in the evening. Of course the first gig swamped me to the point whereas I left laptop and stands..total idiot. Because this happen I lost time and could not use it...:-(.. I will test it at home.
SI PUEDES HACERLO EN ESPAÑOL NO ENCUENTRO TUTORIAL EN ESPAÑOL
WERE`S THE WIERD HAT?!?!?!xD
i atchaley thort you brock it then for a secon
I think is a very weak light. It should have to had a 25w led light to have a good light. Those 10w led is the same as 100 old lamp light. Not very good. Showtec xs 2 have a much stronger light its a better option, or maybe others in market. This one is a waste of money.
crap/ slow web conection!!
