Join me on an extraordinary journey as I make the bold decision to sell everything including my Tiny House and embark on an incredible adventure, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the United States in pursuit of a better cost of living and an enhanced quality of life . After living in my Tiny Home for almost 3 years I have found it so difficult to find peace of mind while still living on someone else’s property. Selling my beloved tiny house “dream” and moving out of the country was a tough decision, but I am excited to focus on what truly matters - My happiness and New experiences that I will of course share with you. My mom got her permanent citizenship in Huatulco, Oaxaca. She loves it..There is a retirement community there. I can't wait to visit myself. Thank you for the video. The same people that is saying it aint safe.. Is the same one's who said Africa was nothing but mud huts and flies.. or that there is no racism in the US. I know someone that moved to Meridia Mexico. Her husband said he would give it a year to see if he wanted to stay. So they moved there with their 3 children and he absolutely loves it. They have been there now for 3 years.
Yes it’s great for kids. Mexicans are very family oriented so there’s always things going on for the people with families. My niece is there and her daughter is always busy. She needs a damn planner to keep track of her busy life and she’s 10 😵🤣

Meridia Mexico. Ok cool. I'm looking to move out of AmeriKKKa as well. I'm in Florida and I simply hate it here. I cry everyday for an outlet out of this country. Yup 👍🏽 so glad to open so many eyes. They really don’t want you to see what else is out there because how else will they control us. I am from the Caribbean but it’s too far from NYC where most of my family is now so Mexico is far enough but not too far. Costa Rica is expensive and Bali needs to get their infrastructure right. Other than the tourist areas they are really lacking. So off grid living yeah but I’m bougee and need a little more lol

Of course there are things about this country that I have grown accustomed to and I definitely will miss not to mention my grandkids are here my kids and my mom so it’s not like I don’t have ties here and I’m not saying I wouldn’t ever come back, but for now, my soul is begging to leave.
My son and daughter in law go there so much . She is from Mexico and they love it. Going there in july for a month in Puerta Vallarta.

You wont regret it! I LOVE Merida! My family had a vacation home for decades in San Miguel de Allende... its actually where I founded Magnolia Emporium at.... not to mention its a great place to get photography gigs for all the weddings that come into town.... I am so excited for you dearheart!

I was there last year. I hated it! Reminded me too much of NYC I loved the countryside though but not enough to move there though.

Wow it's amazing how much prices have gone up in Merida. I've been in Puerto Vallarta for about 2 years now but I stayed in Merida for 2 months beforehand but quickly realized it wasn't for me. The last townhome (bonus) was similar to what my friend and I stayed in. It was 3 bedrooms 4 baths and it was only $800 a month. Crazy right!? Great video! 💜

First - Your journey is inspiring. It's pretty daring to make big moves when absolutely necessary, especially when it's so easy not to act due to fear, anxiety. You are an active learner in this thing called life and your Tiny Home journey, just like your multi-faceted artistic career over the years, has got you to where you are today. Takes ambition. Takes courage. Takes passion. Takes diligence, intelligence, wisdom, patience, mindfulness.
Second - This video was hella informative. Things are happening around us, and if people are not understanding that, obviously they are not paying attention. I see you. And I love that about you - especially that you are sharing and educating us/folks about what's up. We've been considering finding a place to ex-pat and you're making Merida look enticing and a worthy contender (although my better half has roots/connections in the Caribbean so we'll likely go in that direction).
Third. In terms of of which of those fabulous homes are worth considering? Without a doubt, the last place was by far, the best of the collection. It has all of the things and would be absolutely perfect for you - especially when your fam and friends come to stay. For me personally, I would choose one of those townhouses - either #2 or #3. We're about to be empty nesters and we're looking to downsize. So less is more for me. The smaller spaces from the kitchen, the living room, pool, garage and just enough bedrooms were just right. They had everything we need and not a lot to clean and move around in. And at that price?? $116,000US? We can totally do that right now, Girl, so we may be right behind you 😁. But seriously, for you, the last place with the dark wood contemporary architecture detail of that kitchen and the floating staircase, the soaring ceiling heights in the showers and just the spaciousness of it all - just PERFECT. So happy for you! Do that thing. Go where the light is, where you'll be happy and where you'll get so much more for you $$$. It's smart and appropriate for all the right reasons.
*FYI - Girl, I hollered while in the showroom you had your camera angled at Edgar 🤣. Although not MY vibe I kinda knew what you were thinking and you had me in stiches.
Also, you truly bring it with the soundtrack. I was moving and grooving during most of your tour - the Latin vibes enhanced the mood. Always love your music selection in all your vids.

You’re right on point with everything! Iv been watching your videos; as well as Tiny Houses AND EXPAT videos of others living in Baja Mexico too! Since my youngest is in college with a couple more years to go, I’ll be making my move or moves too! Since we can only stay in Mexico for 6 months then leave for a little while, I might keep a tiny home in the states to come back to but I know I gotta make a move. I don’t want to be spending $1000 on rent for a parking space. Also don’t want to buy raw land because developing land can run (50-100k) ain’t nobody got time for that. I fled the United States 3 Years ago bought property in Cost Rica, Just finished the construction on my Airbnb getting ready to build my house and my farm/greenhouse to live off of my land next. My advice to you would be to buy your property and build your own home it's cheaper especially in Mexico which I've found is cheaper than Costa Rica but I love it here and my little piece of heaven in the mountains. You should also take a look at Puerta Vallarta it's a super safe city to live in Mexico Me and my daughter thrived there and it's really the only place in Mexico I Adore! On another note, I have multiple reasons why I fled the United States I honestly really Just Despise the Place "I'm sure we have similar reasons" Good Luck on your Future Endeavors and God Bless! It's refreshing to see black women thrive and live outside of the box!💜

I thought about Costa Rica three years ago but it’s a little bit far for me. I have my elderly mother in New York, and my grandkids that are still quite young. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be traveling and staying places for extended periods of time. Please stay in touch as I know Costa Rica is already on my list. 🥰

Hey! I knew you were looking for a place in Merida. I liked houses 2, 4, 6, 8 & the last townhouse. If they can fix the structural deficiencies of house #4, I’d be sold on that house because it had a large kitchen, rooms, & bathrooms. Love the rain shower shower head. Also, I love the rental price. I don’t believe in using almost my entire paycheck on an expensive place to live with only a few hundred left to take care of bills and food. Housing has gotten so ridiculous. You made the idea of living in this part of Mexico VERY enticing. Thank you for sharing your journey!❤😊
you're welcomed, and I agree with you on house #4 they really need to get it right because I loved how spacious the kitchen was and the outdoor area had so much potential. I also don't wish to spend all my money on rent or mortgage its ridiculous. it cost almost $1000 a month for a damn parking spot for my Tiny Home in Las Vegas. In California it's around $1500. I can rent a whole goddamn brand new house for that in Mérida 🤨 make it make sense

Peace and light! The American dream is indeed a nightmare. I'm sure you will be able to settle better in Mex. Great choice in choosing Merida. The prices have increased significantly in Merida as well. We love it here in the Yucatan Merida area; however, we should all try not to contribute to the price hikes, by educating ourselves on the local renting prices. Doing this also helps to not push the locals out. So many are coming over and paying 1,000 for a house worth $500, please stop this. Education is key to ensuring that we all can continue to afford this beautiful Yucatan life. All shall be well!
Yes, you are so right and thank you so much for chiming in because it’s important that others see that we can thrive in another country. It may not be for everybody. I have been hearing about more Americans moving to different countries with México as one of the top choices. The overall cost of living is cheaper in other countries. The U.S is becoming more crazy with it’s prices.

Very nice homes and condos! You did a great job with your research. I'm impressed with your drive. I'm glad you were able to pinpoint the structural damages and not be so mesmerized by the design of the homes. What about turning on the faucets and looking under the sinks for holes. Mice love to run through holes and flushing toilets and so forth. The homes are too big and do you need all that space and what about the violence in Mexico, jobs, etc. I guess to live out of the country someone would have to be wealthy. It's just as expensive living in USA. There has to be a lot of hidden expenses. Thanks for sharing this video. I wish I could find an affordable lifestyle. Ummmm I’m not wealthy if I were I wouldn’t have to leave the country to have a better quality of life. Things are ridiculous here.
As far as the faucets yea I turned them on and flushed toilets because water pressure can be suss in parts of Mexico but I cut them out of the video. It’s something I will address in the future if that’s where I land. 🥰

Perhaps going even more tiny than you are now (in Mexico somewhere for example) and move forward with the financial moves you were already making. I’ve saved almost 25k over 4 yrs (and I knit/crochet), about to drive otr (so I’ll save more) and paid off all my debt. I want to buy OUT RIGHT my new van home & pay in full for whatever buildout I want.

There's so much beauty in Mexico I haven't been in a while but I started going as a child but God willing my health will improve so I can make it back over there. If I had my way I would have a house that was a mashup of all of them 😂 I loved the kitchen and pool in (4) but that house was tricky. Loved the primary suite and studio space in (1) but the kitchen was a bit small and the primary bath felt like a guest bath. And so on… lol oh and I’ve done two other videos in Mexico you should check them out if you haven’t caught those yet.

America has become so stressful. I’m seriously considering selling my home. I love Merida. It’s the heat that is stopping me. I once lived in Las Vegas and said I’d never live in heat again. Girl is only 83 in my city and I have the a/c on. 😂 I hope you find a wonderful place that meets your needs.
Lol I know what you mean but there is also a unwritten rule in Merida you do it before 11am or after the sun goes down. When I was there the kids were at the park with family and all at 10 at night. What I loved about Merida was how family oriented the Mexican and Yucatecan people are. It’s really different from what I see here. And yeah Vegas is hot 🥵 as He|| but I’ve dealt with it for 9.5 years. And before that hot a$$ florida for almost 6 years. I guess I will adapt or move to a cooler location. But I’m gonna have a nice high electric bill I’m sure 😜 and I will follow the rules of staying cool. And then there’s always the pools and Progreso Beach 25 mins away ☺️ check back in with me Lisa so I know if you decide to blow this joint 🤣 lol

If people knew they could have a much better life somewhere else they wouldn’t stay in this country and work until they were 65/70 years old and then too old or sick to do anything else not to mention being priced out of affordable living. so of course this egotistical country has to make everybody think that every place sells is horrible because who else could they program to stay if not the ones caught in the matrix?

They are so nice and man when I tell you the grounds were immaculate. They do not play when it comes to keeping up a clean esthetic and well manicured gardens. Over all I loved it! Merida is growing so fast
This was long and I loved it!! Thank you for showing all the properties, beautiful! I moved myself and my 2 kids to Thailand last year. It was the best decision I've ever made. I totally get the need to move from the states.

And yeah I would consider Asia but it’s a bit far and I have grandkids and my mom who’s elderly so I want to be close to the US but far enough not to have to deal with the “politics” and I mean that in the broadest sense of the word! Just too much and as a creative I can’t take the noise anymore. It’s paralyzing.

No place is perfect of course but you have to find what is the most perfect for YOU. How do you think you will fair with the heat in Merida? I lived in Kuwait for many years and that heat is a MONSTER!!
@@RespectfullyNikki I live in Las Vegas so summers here are brutal especially living in a tiny house with out the proper insulation it can get really really really hot and uncomfortable before Vegas. I lived in Florida so I’m very familiar with humidity and I’m gonna try it out for six months to a year but I plan on traveling around the entire world so home will be wherever I am 🥰

Nice!! Merida is one place on my list to consider moving. To me the cost of living in America has always been too high. It never made sense to me. I always knew ill eventually leave America. I'll also feel everyone is just so stressed in America which just leads to alot of unnecessary non sense. My soul doesn't match the vibe of America. I'm gonna do my scouting with Cotez. He keeps it fully truthful about Merida.

For me I want real food, healthcare that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, a normal cost of living(i should not have to work into my 80s), have real food and have real products. Most American cities are just not safe and our food has been played with so much none of it is healthy even the veggies. America let greed take over everything. It is quite sad when you unpack it all. Only way you agree with America at this point of you are an unregulated capatilist, like violence, etc.

I don’t know which one I like best. Though condos, and town house usually require HOA fees, not to mention that if you should encounter an issue with a neighbor, above you, below you, or to either side of you pertaining to water leaks, and damage, you have to pray the neighbor is willing to fix it if it’s affecting your place. I’m currently in a condo, where my above neighbors windows are leaking and causing structural damage to my place which is below them. It’s been terrible trying to get these people to fix the problem. If I had to do it again, I would have a separate free standing home, where if there were issues needing fixing it’s solely my responsibility. Oh and just FYI they don’t use wood for anything. All the houses and buildings are built with concrete blocks and cement lol they don’t play. And almost all the places I look at had HOA except for maybe two of them and they were the ones I wasn’t even interested in moving in to. It’s one thing to pay for HOA and have nothing to show for it but I don’t mind paying when you have the type of amenities that these places have.

Kudos to you and thanks for leaving your realtor's info. I Love Mexico🥰and have traveled to a number of Mexico's cities on my own. People would warn me not to go alone as I would get my head chopped off! Well, it's been 10 years and I still have my head!😝 Though I only saw 1 black person the during all my visits no one made me feel weird or unwelcomed. The locals were friendly and just went about their day. Oddly, I would feel more "at home" there than in the US and the back of my mind I was always trying to figure out how I could move/work remote there. Now it seems like EVERYONE is moving and working remote there! 👍🏿👍🏿

Hey hun I just watched your new short on another violation at your tiny mobile home but there was no way for me to comment so I came here. Again I'm sorry that that happened to. I checked out Merida which seems to be on the opposite side of Cancun very far down south in Mexico. I love that area I went there for vacay in 2019 Cancun. I feel fortunate and that I live in a neighborhood with my townhouse apartment where nobody has done anything as far as coming onto my patio to take any of my stuff. Unfortunately I think you live in one of those areas it's just high crime. My cats would alert me but not everybody wants the responsibility of a pet. I would probably keep one foot in America with my other one in Mexico may be living there six months out of the year I don't know. But I definitely thank you for showing me Merida ❤😊😊😊😊

Mexico has caught onto us moving to their country. I did it in 2016. I’ve been back since 2019. Would I go back? Hell yea!
Yeah I’m sure that they have because we’ve been doing it for years but now there’s a whole lot more black expats leaving America. That’s one of the things I love about social sharing, is it allows so many others to see in real time the possibilities of breaking the chains and doing something different with their lives. Even if it’s just for a few years. The experiences groom us in ways that make us more open, confident and considerate people. That’s my thoughts 🥹

Hey girrrl, I see you! Making major moves. It’s beautiful there and all the homes have something to offer, hard to choose. Well I live in a upscale community on a prominent side of town and it’s hell-ah expensive but it’s safe, family oriented, working class and of course amenities and I’m within arm’s length of everything, wish it didn’t cost so much. Don’t feel sorry for me though I’m blessed to be able to afford it and I’m also in the process of having a modernTiny house built and I already have a really nice place to put it, keeps me close to family and friends. Any how can’t wait to see which one you pick Air B&B it make more coins hey!!
That’s great I’m bougee too so I like a nice home that’s why I didn’t bother with the cheaper homes in Mexico. They are there but I’m not interested. Also there is no point in doing Airbnb when I have to pay such high rent to park it. If I had land with hookups then I wouldn’t need to sell it or move but it’s too hard.

Yes only a few house actually have bathtubs because most of the houses have what is called a dipping pool and they figure if you’re going to soak that’s where you would soak outside in the dipping pool because it’s so hot here. And yes Edgar 😍 real easy on the eyes 😂
