Nice truck man, your truck is inspiring i want to do some of the things you have to my ranger, i got the fx4 level II,cant wait to see more ranger videos
I don't do any pulling with my 03 , and the 4 liter makes plenty of power for me . But I am intrigued about the supercharger , on a stock engine and how reliable it could be . Mine is in perfect shape , because it's never been a work truck , and I live in southwestern BC where it's warmer than most of the US in winter . Red with a paint matched factory tonneau cover , and under 200,000 km makes it a rare Ranger .
Sounds like a sweet truck, and out of the rust belt! 👌👍 Highly recommend the supercharger… check it out at moddbox tons of good info. At low boost it’s very reliable I’ve put more than 50k km on mine no issues. 👌👍
Everything looks great & professionally done. I always come to your channel for inspiration. I wanna supercharge my 4.0 but Im right at 290k miles, worried about reliability.
Thank you! I think you’re right thats kind of getting up there. Id be a bit worried about the timing chains and transmission. You could always get the kit and run low boost which hardly is any harder on the engine and swap it onto another ranger if/when yours dies? TDI swap is also an interesting one to look into. I’ve seen a few ecoboost swaps also which would give you a whole new driveline but I think the ecoboost are cracking blocks. Lots of good options!
I like them. They only use your OEM headlight bulb, but you could install a high powered LED if you wanted. Check them out around 2:30 of this video. ruclips.net/video/RPOiEOlMyvQ/видео.htmlsi=_ALbjefjjZgGvOa-
Yeah good question, should have mentioned that. I ended up putting a transfer tank in the back… I liked the idea of keeping the weight just behind the cab since I’m usually pulling my trailer.
What is going on with the 3.0 vs 4.0 trans? Is the gearset lower in the 3.0? I would really appreciate a video on this, as I plan to supercharge a 4.0 sohc motor, and put an M5OD behind it. Thanks!
Yeah you got it, you can install the 3.0 countershaft into the 4.0 for low 1,2and 3rd. I also recommend a steel retaining plate. I’ll definitely do a video 👍
It’s just the universal glow shift one. I had to take my heat gun and bend it to match the pillar, it’s a bit rough. Heres an affiliate link to what I bought. amzn.to/4gFzckm
my transmission just went out again and i got it rebuilt about 2 months ago, it’s covered under warranty although ever since putting the transmission in it felt like it never even got rebuilt, my plan is to warranty it and sell it for money for a manual swap. i’m unsure if it will be worth it and if a junkyard trans is a good idea. it did run and drive (the trans i plan on taking). i just can’t see why the transmission would all of a sudden work after it happened the first time. i think it could be the shift points in the computer. does anyone have any insight on this? wold appreciate it greatly
Hey what’s your gas mileage just wondering. Depending on your gearing it might not be good😂 love the truck btw. Keep making the videos. I’ll keep ing them
I bet that sounds great!! My truck is running headers and then i built a custom 1 1/2 Y pipe mandrel bent with no tight bends into a high flow cat, 3” from there to the back with straight through muffler and resonator. The exhaust system I’m using cat back is mandrel bent for a 5.0 coyote truck…… 1” per hp I believe is the rule of thumb, over that you start to lose your bottom end torque…. Not so much with a supercharger but still noticeable.
The Ranger Ford should've made!
Wouldn’t that have been awesome!
Wow! You've done a lot of things since I last saw the truck. Nice work! That took a lot of thought.
Glad you liked it! Thanks
Awesome build 👍
Thanks 👍

Everyone bags on them but they are great trucks! You got a great base for a sweet build! 👌👍

How good are the led headlights and tail lights? I have an 09 Sport 4.0 4x4 manual ranger that I wanna do stuff to

Nice! Did you do the bronco 2 fuel tank in the spare tire area or did you do a transfer tank in the bed?
Yeah good question, should have mentioned that.

what was that side column gage cluster you use from?

What is the model # for the transmission? Is it: MT, 4x4, 6-245 (4.0L), ID 1L54-HB? The transmission family is R1.
what engine management are you using with the super charger?
Just the stock EEC-V tuning it with a tweecer unit

I have that same supercharger in mine and I don't like it. Doesn't seem to really give any more power.
Hey could you tell me what the code is that is displayed on the ECU Tag? it should be a 4 letter code.
Sure GDM1

YOU NEED HEADERS, TRUE DUAL EXHAUST, NO CATS AND TWO GLASS PACKS LIKE I HAVE!!!!!!!!
I bet that sounds great!!
