- Crazy day when your rear brake stops braking. As far as I know the rear pads are the factory pads, bike has 8k miles on it... Glad I caught it and replaced them with some Organic/Semi-Metal pads, now I can stop my bike without fearing for my life. You do know that the saddlebags come off the bike with just the key? Still a good video to watch for just in case. Just making sure there wasn't any screws I was missing.
From car pads, i for the impression that the taper on some is to show how much wear you have, but not sure
Dude I changed the pad again the i put oem rear pads on I kept the back bolt on and slid the pads in does your rear caliper get super hot when riding
Do you notice the rear caliper getting real hot since the change
My rear didn’t heat up too bad. I wonder if yours are rubbing, the pads are slightly too big for the space available, especially if you didn’t bleed the fluid. I’d imagine it will wear down to where it should be and stop getting hot.
What material is your new pads?
@@JustinsGarage i out oem pads back on the dealer said it’s normal I’m in Florida 80-90 always outside
@@Louiem28 Oh good. That makes sense. Here in Indiana it’s basically a winter Iceland 😂
Did you put grease on the back of the pad
I always do a healthy covering of lithium grease. Helps with proper movement and lubrication.
I just did mine I forgot to put grease I’m gonna have to open them back up the other thing do you put that little lip pop into the groove on the bottom I wish I could show you what I mean I don’t know if I have the brake pads in correctly
@@Louiem28 if they don’t move by hand they are probably in the groove.
