My favorite part of this episode was that Spice's intro was "I'm being held captive here."... He had no idea how true that was.... Edit: don't know if anyone said this yet but, multiplying a negative number by 1/2 is an increase in the number
Super late reply so my apologies, but there is a ruling on Ebonblade Reaper that "if you attempt to halve a negative life total, you halve 0." It's not mathematically what happens, but I think it works best for gameplay for it not to turn into a positive.
@@taylorsherry4784 The reasoning for this I believe is this rule here: 107.1b Most of the time, the Magic game uses only positive numbers and zero. You can’t choose a negative number, deal negative damage, gain negative life, and so on. However, it’s possible for a game value, such as a creature’s power, to be less than zero. If a calculation or comparison needs to use a negative value, it does so. If a calculation that would determine the result of an effect yields a negative number, zero is used instead, unless that effect doubles or sets to a specific value a player’s life total or a creature’s power and/or toughness. note that we're halving not doubling, so that doesn't apply. If you were to double, you would get double negative life.

the fact he didn't have a reaction after saying that means he wasn't joking
"There's air everywhere...that's what big skin wants you to think" - Spice
That got me doubled over laughing. What a great finale, hope to see even more great content with great creators like this in the future.
This was hands down the most surreal game of Magic of I ever witnessed.
the sound effects that marcus uses whenever he transforms his cards just keeps reminding me of thst "optimum pride" meme
The way my jaw dropped when I realized what Sam had done after the Egg was flipped, the entire sequence there. Sam is just a brilliant man.
And he used that brilliance to instill madness. Perfection.
Where is Raoul Vitale? I just want to talk.
Raoul both is and is not a part of this episode.
@@taylorsherry4784 The reasoning for this I believe is this rule here:
107.1b Most of the time, the Magic game uses only positive numbers and zero.
@@blinky101 So it *was* a judge call and not a mathematician call after all!
Fascinating how there's rules that get in the way of the otherwise normal maths thing of subtracting with a negative.
Raoul Vitale happens to be my step uncle, and it was really cool to see Sam go from randomly mentioning his name in a previous episode of this from a miscellaneous Island in his deck to making my step uncle a pivitol part of his mind games. By the way, he pronounces his name like "rally" without the "y", so just rall. I don't understand why that is the case, but I figured it best to not worry about it too much. Keep up the awesome videos, and I can't wait for more shenanigans in the future!
It's all mind games
I love that you can tell that Marcus is miserable but also having the time of his life while Spice is JUST miserable
“Philosophical spaghettification” has got to be a never before said phrase. Love how the ethical implications of profs weird cards has created this wonderful phrase.
This is a winning theme. You could spin a whole show out of this "hidden commander" EDH. Really cool.
I love when i find out someone like Marcus or Smallant plays magic
I myself didn't know the professor played Magic!
I thought they only played merfolk or something
The way Sam/Rhystic used his egg to copy that evil no win care, you made me a fan for life 😂
This really feels like a bunch of old real friends playing here. The gentle ribbing, the slightly mocked slightly genuine echoing of other players jokes, the subtle tension of "I'm here to mildly torture you but also wtf is in that deck YOU built". It's perfect. Glad we get to watch it :)
I was wondering why would this be the season finale, but after witnessing what was done to the guests this time around, I think I get it now.
The sexiest part of this video is the fact that there are the lists of the decks on the description! Great!
What a way to end the season. I believe we managed to see the 5 stages of grief from spice in this. Truly exceptional.
If every episode in season 2 were Prof, Sam, and Spice, plus one different guest, I’d be thrilled. Such an entertaining trio!
If only😂
Personally liked the dynamic of all 4. Marcus accepting and joining in with Sam right from the beginning was important to me. Lol
1:00:16 "But then it's not It anymore."
1:01:36 "We're getting so close to the Event Horizon"
What has been will Be. Embrace the Worm ;)
Awesome match, love the interplay.
Get off of Stellaris
I’ll admit, the length of this video was intimidating. But after watching it I wish it was longer because that was incredible.
"As an artist, you have to know when to stop."

Ok, but that post-game recap? A masterpiece!
almost a year later, this is still my favorite commander game, I've ever seen recorded. Everyone in it just, has a role they have decided to play, and do it so well, i keep coming back.
Prof's amazingly smug supervillain smirk and tone of voice this entire game was just chef's kiss. I've never seen someone having so much fun causing his friends to have less fun in my life, and the fact that Sam and Marcus just no-selled it, just reflected all that torment to the exact center of Spice's brain was beautiful.
The whole thing was a production in affirming how much I can't stand the dude.
saw marcus in the title and went “oh i love that guy” and then looked at the thumbnail and did a double take. love all these guys - stacked cast!!!
This has to be the funniest episode I've ever seen, please have these gems back on again 😂
Congratulations to the winner this episode! Never have I seen such gameplay that truly captures not only the essence of Magic: The Gathering, but of life, meaning, and the universe.
That was a phenomenal season finale. Entering the void together, the empty chair during the credits *chef's kiss* Top-notch banter, this was such a perfect episode, thank you.
To this day, perhaps the most unhinged game of Commander I have ever seen. Perhaps my favorite game of commander I have ever seen. Perfection.
"Eldritch Bollocks" is the best phrase. Thanks Spice you fabulous villain.
1:06:28 was maybe the funniest thing i've seen in weeks. also Sam and Spice are such chaotic little bastard men, i love them so much together
Remember that time some wizards got into a magic war and accidentally war crimed themselves out of existence? Feels like it keeps happening.
The ending, the final editing, the empty chair, this video is absolutely perfect. And thank you all for teaching me a four-way draw is possible in Magic.
Man this was a perfect match to end the season on, and the editor ended the episode perfectly too.
This episode(and honestly every episode of this show) is easily some the most re-watchable Magic content on the web. You and your team deserve all the glory and support from the community you’ve received over the years and especially in the past few days.
This is by far the most entertaining episode of commander I’ve watched in some time. Please bring these 3 back with prof. A lot and often
I LOVE when spice is on shuffle up. It is always a fantastic time when it is on.
That ending was straight up poetic. Beautiful. What a wild ride that game was.
I was REALLY hoping Marcus was tutoring Platinum Angel with his Anchor to Reality at 1:12:00 lol
I think it had to be an equipment or vehicle

I've lost count of how many times I've watched this episode. has to be the greatest mtg game ever played.
I just want to say thank you guys for being so funny and entertaining. I’m currently at a NICU for my son and started watching this to take my mind off things and you have no idea how much better you’ve made me feel laughing along with you guys! Thank you guys so much for being who you are and being able to bring joy to this new dad in a dark time❤
I hope Prof sees this!! Thinking & praying for you & your son! 🤍
Sending prayers to you and your family buddy!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I hope everything is okay.
Bit late, but im gonna hope your sons ok.
