One of the things i consistently love about Shuffle Up and Play is that prof will bring together 4 giant nerds (him included) that are such DIFFERENT brands of nerdy and it brings so much to all of these episodes! Nerd unity bbs
the diversity is really amazing to see. there's like, always one person who makes it their goal to be the most attractive person on the episode and they pretty much always succeed
Joey could have waited for Profs turn and see what he does and respond at instant speed and kill prof on the stack in response to anything sketchy. Would've been much safer option to do that instant speed. I see so much sorcery speed stuff being done on Shuffle Up & Play that can and should be done at instant speed.
@@TecnoSmurf Well my opinion is that optimized plays are more fun and entertaining content even if the magic is as casual as can be. Casual tables doesn't mean playing suboptimally, but rather the casual stuff happens while deck building.
It's a good thing sensible people at wotc were able to explain to the higher-ups that the professor post critical content because he loves the game and will support it. It gave use great content
OK, I'm SO grateful Joey sung 'This is the rhythm of the wild' like that cause I've done it for so long and needed someone to confirm I wasn't a complete nutcase, thinking it every time I saw the card.
The [Insert Soda] Dragon jokes, and the smattering of other soda jokes throughout the video hit every time. A fun table in general, and was laughing the whole way! Also just a fun and interesting game. Thanks for the video!
This has been one of my favorite episodes so far! Big compliments to the editor! All the little bits extra information and jokes were amazing. I cannot imagine how fun it must have been to think up all the fake usernames for the "comment section". Also props to all the players! And to Wizards for using this form of advertisement for the upcoming remastered set. Would not mind seeing that more often in the future.
Prof is not at all like my father despite his undeniable Dad energy, but he reminded me of my old man several times in this particular video. My Dad passed last year and frankly disliked MtG but came around eventually. I'm playing again for the first time in years and it makes me feel like a kid again. Love you dudes.
I am 10 minutes in and had to pause the video at least 3 times to legit laugh out loud... I am not sure I can continue. The vibe is off the charts... It is like 4 people from different parts of town just found out they are now best friends !!!
Ok between the Soda Dragon jokes, the sheer on flavor of some of the players antics, and the Gruulgari deck... this episode was amazing, such delightful chaotic, slightly thirsty energy
I just got to say, Dark Pact's outfit is so damn good for Rakdos. Like the outfit, the laugh, and the mad chaotic energy of this episode... I dont know who actually survives this match, but the Rakdos Guild won this match up front.
If Amy is invited I click every time. She is far and away my favorite MTG creator. Just boundless positivity and good vibes. Everyone was great during this episode though!
Thinking about getting back into MTG so I've recently started watching all these and loving every minute of them. This has been my favorite so far. This would be what i would show someone who was thinking about getting into MTG to have them play. Absolutely hilarious and so much fun to watch.
I just recently discovered this channel while considering getting back into Magic with the commander format after a four year break, it's a joy to see commander being played in such a fun and friendly way. Since I haven't bought any cards in the last four years I'll be doing a lot of RTFC, I hope that the opponents I face will understand.
This is still, consistently my favorite actual play show for mtg on the youtubes. Your guests are always the best prof, and youre always consistently entertaining.
I thought episodes with Arin were something else, but this crew has a truly special energy. Props to the editors for punching up the chaos! ...also I just realized that everyone dressed in both colors of their deck, except for Joey. It's okay, Joey, we still love you! *mimes holding a phone to his ear and mouths "call me"*
I know I say this on every episode I can recall, but I love all these people! Excellent guests as always with great energy and a great game. The jokes had me cackling. Love Ravnica a lot and very much looking forward to Ravnica Remastered. Thanks for playing.
One funniest episodes so far, such a joy to watch - as were all of the guests and how they kept feeding each other cheesy jokes & gags. Fantastic stuff.
IMO This is the best Shuffle up and Play episode that has been made. Hilarious, Everyone having fun, interesting gameplay, and wonderful guests and banter.
So to answer Amy's question: Dredge _started_ as an 8 on the storm scale. It then moved to 10 for quite a while, and is now 9 for some reason, as it should absolutely still be a 10.
Very surprised the one-Mana cycling lands are not included in the Borborygmos deck. They make Loaming lands a lot faster, since you'll be rolling in Lands in play anyways :) Gamble, a.k.a. Red Entomb, also quite strong as just a second copy of Loam. Loved seeing Tummyrumbles taking it home, doubly so after a wonderfully chaotic and fun episode. (big, big Assault Loam enjoyer so I had to check out the list for inspiration :P Sprouting Vines and Nissa's Pilgrimage are sweet)
The energy and laughter at the table was more infectious than a golgari deck. Great to see people having such a good time. Psyched for rakdos er ravnica remastered.
Joey mentioned a format I've only dreamed of, chronological commander. I pictured the 4-5 diff mishras and 4-5 different urzas in the command zone in a stack, starting from their earliest depictions to their later forms, and they have a legendary rule applied of "only 1 of each legendary creature with a super name" so only 1 urza, 1 mishra on the field at a time. And as you cast them it reveals their next form which you can cast and it sacs the previous form. Get to see the brothers start as weak chumps until they hit their "ultimate form"
One of the things i consistently love about Shuffle Up and Play is that prof will bring together 4 giant nerds (him included) that are such DIFFERENT brands of nerdy and it brings so much to all of these episodes! Nerd unity bbs

Just a buncha friends having a ball 😂❤❤
This was my favorite episode I’ve watched so far!
It's literally the magic school bus
Immediately killing Prof after he called a guild meeting was Joey's way of saying "This meeting could have been an e-mail."
the only gruul response to a guild summit
@@shinykitsunelive Exactly my thought, it was the most in character response possible.
Joey could have waited for Profs turn and see what he does and respond at instant speed and kill prof on the stack in response to anything sketchy. 12:08 “Coke Dragon” is absolutely a Rakdos card
I'm pretty sure more than one person had that as a nickname in college.
Great, we get the fantasy knockoff Cocaine Dragon.
@TheGrifcannon22 I went to school with someone who's legal name was "dragon coke" (long ã, but still)
Production team is showing their fun side and I freaking love it.
Joey: "I'm playing a bit of a different deck than my usual Golgari fare!"
Joey: Life from the Loam
How could you say no to 3 Lightning Bolts for 2 Mana?
It's a good thing sensible people at wotc were able to explain to the higher-ups that the professor post critical content because he loves the game and will support it. It gave use great content
That Baja Blast joke was incredible
shout out to Logan (SeraphSix) for drinking baja blast and posting pics of it for us to enjoy online
As was the roo bee no roo bee no joke
Two things, 1: Evan's outfit was slick and very Rakdos. 2: This was one of the most hilarious groups so far. Great episode.
25:15 Critiquing people’s decks for being “off Flavor” is now going to be my favourite way to troll the table 😇
Always remember to call a flavor judge when an opponent commits a flavor violation
following it with being a jace truther was the cherry on top
Isn't there a ancient friday night magic with a infinite discussion, that Ulamog doesn't belong into a vampires deck?
Petition to make Flavor Judge a legal card
I don’t get it. All my cards taste like cardboard?
OK, I'm SO grateful Joey sung 'This is the rhythm of the wild' like that cause I've done it for so long and needed someone to confirm I wasn't a complete nutcase, thinking it every time I saw the card.
Fun fact: If you don't sing the Rhythm of the Wild as you cast it, it doesn't resolve.
Now I need to sing it that way whenever I play that card!
LOL Your not the only one :P
Our pod have specific songs for a whole host of cards.
Yes we've been playing too long.
me too!!!
As a Red player, seeing a game with all 4 guilds with red in them is very very satisfying.
So, this group is gonna be a regular occurrence, right? Absolutely DED from laughing this whole episode!!! Would love to play at that table!

This episode has a special energy
Special is putting it lightly.
Prof didn't know he was going to gay brunch
@@pBlackcoat So it was rainbow energy.
This episode was so entertaining simply because I have never seen 3 guests get along so well
Bloodlust, birdlust, and lots, and lots of soda pop.
Can't forget the masochism!
I am loving the energy of this table. A mix of chaos and silliness
My kinda people
The chaos comes from the fact every single one of them is playing red.
Dear god I love Dark Pact Cosplay. Not sure why but their reactions and humor are absolutely perfect and I love them so much.
31:07 the timing on the 7-up was perfect
Izzet player: calls for a guild meeting
Gruul player: "NO. DIE."

So I expected chaos gremlin energy from Amy, but I didn't expect it from every single guest!
The red contact lenses really added to the "I WANNA DRAW" when Dark Pact played necropotence
I just got to say, Dark Pact's outfit is so damn good for Rakdos. Like the outfit, the laugh, and the mad chaotic energy of this episode... I dont know who actually survives this match, but the Rakdos Guild won this match up front.
Massive style points for sure, their fit is fantastic! I do wish that Joey and Amy had dressed to match their guilds like Prof and Dark Pact.
