9:20 Nothing prepared me for the moment when I was playing against Weevil in The Eternal Duelist Soul for the first time and he busts out Gemini Elf on the start of his turn.
Great video! I like Season 1 GX for it's "slice of life" aspects that the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga I feel had more of. I played some of the game on a emulator last year and enjoyed it!
This is a surprisingly great and informative and not at all annoying retrospective series, thanks! I have the angel & devil dice and exchange cards still, all my friends had them too, that’s the generation I’m from. I’ve been playin the GX game for GBA lately and enjoying it.
Bro, this game was my jam and it was better for me since GX is my favourite YUGI series. The mayor downside was that it came out too early. Judging by the story of the game, there wasnt like even 30 episodes when this game was released. The Tag Force series amends this flaw, but it didnt have the exams and the puzzle duels.
The game that taught me how to play YGO properly, though funny how Elemental Heroes felt so bad in this. Only had 3 fusions and crazy thing is King of the Swamp isn't in the game 😂
Besides the deck from The Sacred Cards, this one from GX Academy is actually good! I mean, its not GX Tag Force Evolution(or just Tag Force... dont know why they add letters there..) which is so much better that you can even beat Zane as soon as your first duel against him. It will cost some predictions but it IS viable
I loved this game growing up and appreciated that the rock paper scissors aspect was removed, but my favorite gx game is spirit caller. I think it is more polished and I appreciate not having to defend a dorm rank, but this game always mad it feel like you were living in the world
While I loathed the timed written exam, the game had good presentation. I liked how dialogue changed based on your ranking, Crowler’s repetition aside. 😂
You want a taste of fate? I just finished the entire first season of GX and when I decided to look into season 2,(and I’ve been watching your videos recently too) this popped up. Funny how life works.
This is the last Yugioh game i need for the gba, but im not sure if it's worth the $35 it goes for online. I have yet to see it in any local stores, but i guess i can wait.
Fun fact you do have selectable genders for your character however you can't select whether your character is a boy or a girl at the start of the game you have to rank up through the school's dorm system and go from Slifer Red, then to Ra Yellow, and when you finally go from Ra Yellow to Obelisk Blue you'll be asked if you're a boy or a girl as like in the anime and manga for GX the Obelisk Blue dorms got separated into a boys dorm and a girls dorm
I absolutely love this game but I have to disagree with you on a few things. The decks used by the every day characters are not very good, I understand in the beginning they can't be too strong because you don't have all the best cards to work with, but even when you get to Obelisk Blue all the competition is weak. Yes this includes Ryou/Zane. Outside of a lucky Power Bond play he's weak. None of the characters use the really good cards at the time like Monarchs, Chaos monsters etc. My other complaint is that at the time of its release this game missed a lot of cards for some reason that were already released at the time. Magic Drain comes to mind and I think Reasoning might be missing too. These aren't the only ones. Besides these shortcomings though you're looking at the best Yugioh game on the GBA overrall. The music, the Duel interface, interactions between characters and the exam mechanics are all excellent.
God I liked this game but also haaaaated this game. Snatch steal is still my most hated yugioh card of all time because of this game I hated Mirror force, Jinzo and many others
This is the GBA Yu-Gi-Oh sim that I always go back to.
Please, Zane! Come back from your hiatus! I need more of these videos!
My favorite era of Yu-Gi-OH hype for the next set of videos!

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Ultimate Masters ^ . ^
I love this game! I qlways wished tag force took note of all the little events duel academy had
I wish they made more yugioh games like this
My personal favorite YGO game of all time
Seems like a fun game to play back in the day.

Don't forget about 5D's
I played the crap out of this game. I actually had unlocked all the cards and made it to Obelisk Blue
After WC2006, anything released before it is unplayable to me.
Get ready to get your game on
Spirit caller is the best
