    I think many are underestimating how difficult it's going to be for Tesla to change sales over globally for the Model Y refresh...worth it in the end for sure but avoiding the Osborne effect and not having lines down simultaneously...going to be a wild tetris problem getting those pieces right lol

      Model 2 will be 10 times worse. So that means they’ll only make minor changes which is what legacy auto does today. Exactly what supporters hate. They need to rotate one line always being down and used for new experimental things. And rotate it around all their factories so one line is always being upgraded.

    We bought FSD with our 2020 model Y. It drives over 90% of our rides. Worth the $130/mo in our payment. 12.3 is much more comfortable. I do not understand the many complaints about the nag. I get a nag every month or two. Occasionally when not wearing dark glasses I get 3 in a long drive. I have gotten good at keeping the tension on the steering wheel to the point I barely notice it.

      I am presently considering giving up my cybertruck res and getting a model 3L. So I was thinking if I would use FSD. If I commuted I would get it, but I don't. Maybe I would rent it for a month if I was on an extended road trip for some reason. I would definitely use it in foreign countries, like in a rental in Europe. If I was drunk I would definitely use it, but I don't drink. . . sleepy, that would be a good use instead of nodding off at the wheel, but then if you fall asleep or pass out drunk, it pulls over right? • @pfcrow
      @pfcrow Месяц назад +1

      @@tireddad6541 Really, there are lots of questions. Q1 had some one-off situations, but we're also seeing a big step up in the competition and increasing EV resistance in the US.
      One-off issues are the Model 3 switchover for North America and the related lack of a Model 3 Performance. In the US, they also lost the tax credit on the Model 3 as they've directed all the domestic batteries to the Model Y to ensure that it gets the credit.
      In general, Tesla is no longer supply constrained, so they need to get serious about advertising. And not just online; try TV ads during sports games. They also should be storing some inventory at every showroom, so people can test drive and leave with a car the same day.

    Route 15 sign is not a speed limit sign for 15mph. Also a Trucks Speed 40 sign should not to be recognized by a Model 3 - a car. I know it’ll be hard for you to reproduce it. I live near Route 15 and I’m constantly correcting the set speed after it sees a “To 15” route sign. I have no way to inform Tesla of this real issue. I have FSD v12.3.3.

    • @KaiHenningsen
      @KaiHenningsen Месяц назад +3

      It's the US signage philosophy. Over here (where we follow the UN Vienna conventions for signage and for traffic rules in general), confusing those signs would be much harder because we put a large value on signs being easily recognizable in a very short time. Thus, for example, speed signs look very different from routing signs. A sign limiting speed for trucks is a speed limiting sign directly above a sign showing a sideways drawing of a truck - easy to recognize, no need to read any text except the number for the speed. I fully expect this to work just fine for FSD as well.

    • @tomcrocker608

      @@KaiHenningsenI hope FSD really learns the US signs soon. This is freaking annoying. Your right, European signs seem better designed. I think US signs hale from much longer ago. FWIW, HW3 vs 4 is not the only hardware hangup. Legacy S/X vehicles also have a lot of older, less capable versions of things including the steering system. Slower, heavier steering response with a max turn angle that's not as tight is holding back these cars, which are already at a disadvantage due to being physically larger and having a longer wheel base that is more likely to clip curbs. They CAN be taught to drive, but they have to be taught separate due to these less capable older systems.

      Think the people behind the ecology terrorist wake up having cut into their own meat as we say. Definitely suspect German automotive involved because their EV are not selling to expectation and most paid by advertising of automotive fake news papers are asking for prolong ICE production, tell people transition killed the industry due to POLITICIANS asking for and now they blame them. But the arrogant leaders like with Toyota did not wanted to see the change and even wanted no better ICE engine neither. But now the same liars that faked Diesel’s deadly vapors into healthy fresh air are telling that we need technical openness to get money for the next scam e-Fuels or Hydrogen to waste 10 times the energy used for fossile fuels. 40 years they promised the 2-LITRES-CAR that any Tesla or Hyundai Groups EV with 16,5 to 16,8 kWh average on 100 km or 60 miles offers already. So while these dreamers still produce heavy SUV with bad aerodynamics consuming not 10 litres but 20 litres in case of any PHEV which is FAKE if not regularly charged at the Wallbox. So they heavily manipulate stupid masses expectations also in saying that any EV must HPC on new slave systems chargers instead of HOME- and Destination charging and if really necessary do 500 km or 350 miles. Most people need that ONCE a year for vacation but industry instead of lowering weight still asks for 1000 km that in real life also the best Diesel cars cannot do neither, only on lab testing with fake WLTP. I even found that similarly potent ICE do less than my EV😂 So it’s so important to get clear messages as here also many investors do not really understand the SYNERGETIC approach of Tesla and do not ask why they produced less cars last Quarter but listen to idiots telling in the fakenews „Is this already the end of EV?“ but knowing that we cannot waste oil for mediocre ICE that is the worsest way to transform energy by burning it! We neither become free from questionable oil producing countries that work against our values and believes. Has everybody also considered this side of the picture? No, 65% even do not know what their cars costs and are slaves of their owners as many do neither own their vehicles. Since the company drives now all electric we had a dramatic reduction of TCO and less downtime of cars where people lost their time also the repairs have been for free!🤡🤬

    14:02 For EVs in general and specific to Tesla, I feel EV makers need to emphasize safety, home charging (I only go to gas stations for snacks), cost of ownership overall, and a better driving experience (I traded in 2 BMWs for 2 Teslas) over the environment. While Tesla's mission statement includes the environmental aspect, I bought the cars because they are better cars. While I respect people who think they are helping the environment, for many people, it is not in the top ten reasons for picking a car.

    Have to disagree. FSD accelerates (both forward and backward) quite a bit harder than I would.
    I do agree that the auto max top speed is an issue, as I would often go faster than it does, but it’s easy to understand why they don’t want the car to be going too much over the posted speed limit (plus slower = more efficient = better range).
    Also, pauses at stop signs are too long, but better than in the past. Super easy to tap the accelerator to get it to move though.

The government can help educate the public on EVs, CO2 reductions, and health benefits minus all the labor union add-ins. It would be interesting if they added a health warning on an ICE car and truck.

    Right now I'm pretty pissed at Tesla about their FSD trial. I love the intent, but not the execution. When they pushed the update, they silently automatically enabled it, and simultaneously eliminated simple cruise control. I was on the highway and tried to turn on cruise control and found myself fighting the steering wheel! I had no idea what was going on, all I knew was that somehow cruise control somehow messed with my steering. Not a fun experience in traffic at highway speeds.

    About inventory it will grow as red sea trouble continues. Going around africa will cost 10 days one leg so 20days round trip so when Tesla finds enough ships then in transit goods will not grow when not then it will be problem. There may be relief in q3 when Artic route will be available then Tesla can get to Europe even faster than before since record low ice cover will be expected this year. So currently can't produce more since can't transport it so there may be more of those price hikes.
    About HW4 emulation mode I think HW4 will store hw4 specific training data in background and training will start in 3-6months but That may mean also slowing down HW3 training. At current compute speed and data precision of HW 4 training for new stack may took even 1-2years of compute. Maybe starting later is better then there may be D2 dojo out and that is 4x + of compute of D1. 7nm to 3nm means about 3.5x more space and can mean also frequencies up from 2Ghz to 3GHz and less heat generated that may lead 4 units per tray.

    Not to mention, that only in January Tesla proclaimed to sell 2.2 million cars this year (+22% YoY). Tesla's Q1 2024 deliveries project 9% less sales in this year compared to last iear. Or only 1.6 million cars. There is total of 600 000 less what Tesla estimated only couple of months ago.

    I'm an investor and love the company, but my biggest issue with Tesla cars is that they're lacking some key features they should have or at least be able to be optioned with. They have the sun beaming through at all times which I would hate in Australia where it's hot even though it's tinted, I'd be happy with a sunshade or the glass turning opaque like on other EVs.
    I think one thing Tesla aren't realising is that whilst price deductions do help people afford their cars, adding features people most complain about being missing or that they most desire will also bring people across to the brand and at far less cost to put in that tech than to drop prices.
    For me they are in this order sunshade/opaque glass option, heads up display so you're not always looking across at the screen, vehicle to load/house the fact you have a huge battery and no way to operate three pinned powered devices or back you're house up in a blackout outside of the cyber truck is a big miss for me, adjustable suspension because no matter how sporty or compliant you make it there will be situations where it will be better to be firmer and sportier and situations where you need it to be softer and compliant, an optional solar panel the length of the glass on the roof because if you're someone who doesn't drive that often or long distances, it may contribute meaningfully to your mileage it also stops vampire drain.
    There's some of my big ones for Tesla and it's technology they should either look to include or be able to be optioned in their vehicles.

Also, even in cars, quarterly sales that are soft for competitors too, don't much affect the company's technical and production lead, which in turn determine longer term car sales success. The all too common focus on consistent quarterly returns, divorced from business cycles, and implemented by stock buybacks instead of improving the business, have rotted out once legendary companies like Boeing. I don't see this semantic change indicating any change to the product - more likely just Elon finally seeing my point & caving to common sense.
