Titanium Field Watch: Momentum ATLAS

- Momentum makes some AWESOME watches. Here's one of them: the 38mm Atlas Titanium. It's available in black or white face and features classic field watch, highly legible styling. It's titanium case weighs nothing and the Atlas profile provides high gear transparency. The Atlas quartz movement is accurate, reliable, and low maintenance. For higher cost a sapphire crystal can be ordered but I rec' a simple crystal overlay protector to save money [discussed]. The case back is a bit plain but consider the titanium materials for just $145. Other features such as dial setting, date, lume, and more are covered. Another TNP HOF watch option.

Another great field watch option, this super lightweight MOMENTUM ATLAS is impressive. I loved its styling, quality, and low price. Sapphire crystals are available but this mineral version works great for me. Love the OD strap too. -nutnfancy
I know you hate when people say "Hey Nutn you should try out watch 34ghtop45!" but you might like the Bertuccis. similar to the momentums, but it's a solid titanium case with strap pins machined into the case. Super rugged, super light, and they keep time well. I've had mine for 6 years and it's been on some rough excursions.
I got this watch for Xmas. I had to return it because it kept stopping at the same time. But I just exchanged it for a new one because I really liked the design. My dad actually picked it out for me after seeing one of the earlier field watches you reviewed on my Amazon wishlist. So it's actually really funny that you're reviewing this watch now.
I'm a fan of the watch reviews. Heck, I'm a fan of all TNP.
Thanks my friend!
Todd S I'll second that. I live in Oklahoma - a landlocked, typically dry state - and I was all excited about watching the recent ocean survival kit videos...
Momentum watches are excellent. Have a few myself all with sapphire crystals. Being Canadian, I am partial to these. Not just for that reason. The quality and customer service is just stellar.
I have a Momentum Pathfinder and it is great. I live in Vancouver where they are based so service is easy. I'm going to have to disagree about the choice of crystal. I got the sapphire and it is well worth it in the long run. I have worn this thing daily at a very rough job. The crystal to this day is flawless. It looks brand new. You can hold it up to oblique light and not detect a single micro scratch.
My favorite videos these days are the watch reviews. Also really enjoyed the Zodiac loadout vid. Thanks for the quality content.
Another quality video for TNP nation. Love the watch vids. MORE KRV's!
Copy that, more KRVs
You are an awesome reviewer thank you. Also thank you for all your opinions and advice you ROCK. Please keep it up. Thank you for your service to both the United States and your community.
Thank you James! I try to give an entertaining fresh informational product. Glad you're here. -nutn actual
I have the 38mm version- there's so much to like about this watch. You mentioned all the big points- weight, readability, weight, comfort, clean design. This is the lightest watch I own. I would add value and durability- titanium case with a screw-down crown at this price? With proper service, this watch can last a lifetime. My first battery didn't last long, but Momentum replaced it under warranty- the replacement worked for almost 5 years. I prefer the mineral crystal, they are easy to polish if they get scratched, and are less likely to shatter. The sapphire crystal is a nice option, if you prefer. Momentum/St. Moritz have good customer service.
I LOVE seeing watches in TNP. This is a cool timepiece, and an excellent video!
I love when you happen to post reviews on stuff I was already looking for. Been in the market for a nice clean watch and I just bought the white face, blue cordura. They only had one left in most of the versions I looked at. I got the lat one in stock for that version. Looks like you're doing their job for them again, Nutn. haha
It seems that many gun guys also share similar interests in watches, outdoor pursuits, knives, etc. Just started watching your time piece videos and appreciate your perspectives.
I miss the backpacking trips
Dude. Yeah...watch collector for several years. This only makes the addiction stronger.
my favorite is philosophy vids, followed by gun vids & shooting vids
Tactical i really enjoy the Adventure vids

Nutn, I enjoy the wide range of reviews on your channel. This is a new brand for me but going to their site to take a closer look. Just in time for Father's day!
Looks very similar to my Citizen Royal Marine Commando. Exact same face, same numeral font, titanium case as well. Looks good!
Yep, wasn't a knife guy before your channel... I am a bit of a watch guy but don't like wearing them, but everything changes, system keeps evolving, depends what I get for it. Just use my phone for now. Was using a Keybar but trimmed it down to only carrying 4 keys so went back to a keyring, 3 keys now, and enjoying the drop in mass and weight. Can clip something else on the pocket now, carry my light more now. Have a Flipside Strata wallet I love, but can't carry cash in it (fine for a while but now I like to again) so went with a slightly bigger Flipside 3. Got the Flipside Stow with it hoping to carry keys that way, but don't dig it in practice. Steyr S9-A1, Lone Wolf special edition wavable Endura 4, Streamlight ProTac 2AAA, Leatherman Squirt PS4. As if anyone cares, haha.
I wish you would of put the watch on your wrist so we could see what it looked like...
Good input, I will do that from now on -nutnfancy
DUDE ! Hamilton Khaki officer mechanical. $240
Great video. I have a momentum base layer and love it! Very solid robust watch that is very simple and clean.
Great review! I had a momentum dive watch for years and it went with me on lots of dives. Good quality watches at a good price! Water proofing is excellent. Put in the extra and get the sapphire crystal, the mineral will scratch if you use it hard like i tend to do with watches.
Sweet deal, dude! Nutn is pumping out watch reviews like there's no tomorrow! Still digging the ProTrek; wearing a Casio Telememo watch as I type this!
Unerring 01 Yeah, I bought the Pro Trek PRG270-1. Great watch. I was not into knives a few years ago either. But after watching several KRVs, the addiction began.
Todd S I I've been EDCing the Cold Steel Talwar XL and I love it. It's great if you like BIG folding knives.
Unerring 01 Awesome! I edc the Cold Steel Voyager L and sometimes carry my Nutnfancy signed Voyager XL. I love the big knives too! Big Cold Steel fan.
Todd S I'd like to get a Spyderco but I want to wait for Nutn or probably Doodle to do some more in the Tuxedo coloration.
Sweet watch, more WRVs to follow, thank you.
Im looking at and buying watches on Amazon all the time i can't believe I've never seen the atlas brand. Im buying one
Hey there! USAF Security Forces 12 years 95-07’! I’m looking for an EDC watch since my autos and the others in my collection are more bling and large. I have a svelte 6 1/4” wrist and I’m between the Atlas 38 and the flatline 36. Luck be told I married a Canadian and live in Victoria now so Momentum is local to me. I just can’t seem to decide between the two. Have you any experience with the flatline?
I considered a Marathon field watch since that’s what was issue to me on one of my deployments but I have a mental block on paying for something that was once issued to me lol
what up nutnfancy, triple owl back again. As a dedicated tnpr..I watch all your videos. but, being a retail jeweler for 25 plus years the watch vids are painful to watch.
But I will support the channel. thanks for all your hard work...
N D right. These watches are horrendous.
Great review!
Thanks my man
Yupp we bought 2 Protreks. She got me the blue one you have (PRW-3000) and she got the purple version! Now I have to get a PRW-6000!!!
I like watching your progression into the world of timepieces. Still waiting for you to get your hands on a quality automatic w/ tritium by someone like Marathon or Ball... It's going to be like going from a hipoint to a sig.
Alex Daniel I've got a marathon tsar in a drawer right now that broke right after the warranty expired and will cost about 75% of purchase price to fix. Casio 6band/solar watches from now on.
That thing should have been a tank that lasted 5-7 years until you sent it in for maintenance, even at that point it should only have been off a bit. Sorry to hear that.
Alex Daniel, totally agree. Nutn is playing with the low end right now. Wait until he get his hands on the iconic SKX009 for less than $200, new. Many of these are still running after 20 years of no service. Dress? James Bond eske SARB033. Field has so many options, but SRP713 at Costco for $170 is a screaming deal. Dealing up from there is Tudor. Then there is nothing more satisfying than the Rolex Explorer or Submariner. (Lovin my deep sea). Glad Nutn is finally catching on to "watches are cool".
I just received the Seiko 907 automatic (blue) for $50.00 Buck's & I love it ! Great Seiko lume & movement...
I've had a momentum for closed to 4 years now, and it still works fine. But, I've had to replace the battery every year.
I love my hamilton field khaki mechanical! Very similar in style, size, and affordability. Also has a sapphire crystal face but its not that fancy titanium stuff, its very accurate too for a mechanical watch!
I think I'd always be scared of damaging the movement. Shooting would certainly be out of the question with it on.
i dont know if you realize or jot but im sure alot of folks amazon wishlists are growing immensly with these reviews, i know mine is, especially with this watch
Sorry for the addiction, alot more WKRVs comin', just pick your favorites. -nutnfancy
Love the watch reviews along with all the others.
Love the watch vids....keep em up!
I have a momentum titanium digital dive watch and I need a battery and strap. I can’t find any info on it. I bought it about 15 years ago when I was diving.
Dude. Thanks for the reviews.
Are they all copies of other watches but with quartz mechanism stuck in? As other poster noted, this appears to be a copy of the Citizen Royal Marines, and at 2:06 you show a quartz copy of the Seiko Monster.
Great review Nutn! love the watch reviews! I miss the philosophy vids, as a parent and husband I get a lot out of those! I also love the adventure vids and colab videos with other shooters like Jardine and company! Keep on keepin on!
Best watch you have reviewed yet!!
Dont ever apologize for the watch addiction! ;) Guns, watches, knives and flashlights, in that order.
Reminds me, looks-wise, of the POS watch I was issued in UPT back in the day. That watch was only accurate twice a day, good luck figuring out which two times, lol. I EDC a Nixon Mission, 100m waterproof, AndroidWear 2.0 smart watch.
I work for Amazon and am former military and its awesome that you love Amazon! Seriously a great company to work for and they are the largest customer for many gear companies, so Amazon through capitalism is a huge community supporter
Love the watch reviews; how about some reviews with automatic movements?
I am a mechanical (automatic/wind up) watch freak. Thy tend to be pricy. But a super high quality high value mechanical watch is Tissot. No EMP can take my time away. I just picked up a Tissot Bridgeport powermattice 80.
I don't even wear watches, but I still watch the reviews. Please send help.
I really want to see a review of the 5.11 ballistic watch. always wondered of they were worth the value or just a hokey gimkic.
+Byron Langley Haven't used one in a while, and it was old, but it was so clunky I doubt you'd really end up using it. If I'm buyin' a ballistic computer for the wrist I'd like it to err on the computer side of the style spectrum as opposed to the watch side. Being hamstrung to the form factor didn't do it any favors, neither in style nor function. I don't know though, Nutn may dig the new gens. -Doodle
Love the watch reviews!
nutn do you have any interest/opinions on POF's revolution the ar15 size .308?
Yes. However these AR10s are expensive for me to test and views on them are not impressive. It seems like you and I are the only ones that like them.
any comments on the battery life??
Cool, clean, simple and I guess "modern." Like my AK. Nice!
Thanks for a Ti case watch review! I have a nickel allergy, so can only wear "normal" watches for a week or so before my wrist reacts
Cool watch. Hopefully the Mrs. will see this video. The sapphire crystal seems like a good option for my P.O.U..
Love your channel. I am Canadian and wear a Momentum Steelix with sapphire crystal or a Momentum M50 MK 2 diver. A 500 metre tested watch. Their customer service is SUPERB!
fathers day gift.....
I know it's such a basic and over generalized question, but if you had to pick one item no matter what, you've been reviewing over the past ten or fifteen years or been using over the past 10 or 15 years that has improved or enhanced your life,Head and Shoulders above all others, no matter what it is, what product would that be?
No apologies needed. Great watch!
what size band does this take?
Hey, Nutn.
What watch crystal protector do you use? Before this video, I've never heard of that before.
A few thoughts, as well:
What's wrong with being asked what the issue is with the returned item? I understand you are a gear reviewer and rotate through many items, but the complaint "they make me answer questions" is an odd one. Even brick-and-mortar stores ask this question. It is helpful to know if a customer changed their mind or if the product is defective.
What is "gear transparency"? Are you referring to integration or legibility?
Watchmakers stopped using the term "waterproof" years ago for a reason.
In regards to issues with the crystal near the end of the video: is the advice to swap to sapphire to avoid scratching or to avoid shattering? The way it is presented makes the meaning unclear. To avoid scratching, sapphire all the way. To avoid shattering, stick with the mineral.
This is based on the looks of the Citizen Super Tough watches including the Royal Marines model
It's not an addiction until you're hooked on automatics. Seiko is the best, but lots of other houses out there making affordable high quality self-winders. Then, you can really treat yourself with a rolly polly...
THE A-10s ARE STICKIN AROUND FOR A WHILE NUTN!
Good that it's not a "fabric" band. I had a patient throw up on a fabric band Casio. The smell never went away...had to replace with a NATO band.
You ought to check out Reactor Watches, not really field watch style, but super durable.
Dude, last time I checked. I've had my GShock for 9 years now and its seen a lot of abuse. Next watch I'll buy will be a smart watch that will take the abuse and has a HR sensor and those features
what time is it?
Looks like we like similar watches. This helps me but have to plan purchase so wife is happy.
girl here.
Part of my watch EDC is a name brand Suunto button compass on a NATO watchband. And for digital watch have the 24-Hour Mode ! Thank you for the video ! tjl
these are perfect. i dont do bulky wacthes. surf life. a rubber strap would be better tho.
Dude I’m addicted
My girlfriend is kinda like a watch addict too, but she has her own ideas of what is "nice". I have been out shopping with her for years and I still can't "catch" her style of watches. She can go for a plain looking one like a field watch, then next time she goes for one with bling blings all over. Or, she can go for a watch that only has the hour and minute hands (no seconds hand) and a BLANK DIAL... no markings. Or she can go for a skeleton watch (see thru, with all the inner mechanisms showing through transparent plastic). Personally I hate skeleton watches cuz I can't read the damn time - can't tell where the hands are.
I'm digging the new watch videos. I'm not a fan of the chunky casio style though
Clean, simple, tough. Looks like a better quality timex scout.
Any desire to review Invicta as a dive/field watch. ("2nd cool)?
yes, girl here watching ;) love your reviews. looking for something around $50 or less. Does Mrs. Nutn' have any fav's? I'm not used to wearing watches bc use cell phone for exact time, set lunch/break alarms all day bc of where I work. New PT job- no cell phones on floor. Need something with a digital read that's not tiny but like look of analog better. Thoughts on ladies Casio pop watch?
I had one Gshock before Nutn started doing watch videos. Just realized I have 5 now, haha
This looks identical to the Citizen Royal Marines Commando watch, a rebrand maybe ?

Mark Paiz
bingo...
Ya know what a field watch looks good and all but they're easily damaged and expensive. The Crystal is exposed and can be scratched and broken easily, the band absorbs moisture and whatever liquids you throw at it. I have a few and like how they look, but when it comes to a "field" watch your best bet is a lower end Casio G-Shock. I have the DW-9052 that I wear to work everyday. Its always getting bumped and occasionally covered in metal shavings, grease, oil and rubber shavings. At the end of the day I just rinse it off and move on, If I break it I'm out $40 no big deal.
Nutn, bro, correct terminology is the "dial" of the watch, not "face". I suppose face is an accepted term for regular people and watch newbs, but you're really starting to become a real watch guy, so "face" just doesn't sound right when you say it.
Ok, pet peeve aside, I really dig your watch picks and reviews. I've been a watch guy (at times bordering on obsession in the past) for going on 15 yrs. I'm all about clean layouts, legible DIALS, utilitarian functionality. Hate chronographs for exactly that reason. I do, however, prefer mechanical, self-winding movements to quartz. And my collection has a definite emphasis on dive watches (it's been a couple of years but I am a diver).
Anyhow, I've been a fan for only about 2 years, but I was really jazzed when you got into watches. Keep up the good work, really diggin the reviews!
How do you take these polls?
+MoreAmerican twitter polls, and end-video ones on RUclips sometimes. -Doodle
nutnfancy thanks for the reply.
Twitter? Fuck that hehe.
I just noticed when he talked about 99.5% of watchers being male there was a question in the upper right of the video which collapsed to an "i" with a circle around it. I clicked that and the poll came up on the right side of the video. I never knew you could do that on a YT vid!
Oh yeah. New early birthday gifts
man & keep them coming
you should have put the watch on your wrist to show us how it looks/fits
love the watch videos
Lovin my G Shock GA-100
This watch is a copy of the genuine citizen royal marines watch! (Available just in the UK)
Anyone know a clean watch for outdoors like this for under 40/30? I'd only use it at for certain events so I wouldn't want to go full out and buy one of these.
I am male. I got a Casio G-7900, Luminox 3000, and Casio quarts. (I got other gear but that's all the watches I've gotten)
I like my cheapo Timex field watch. Looks just like these, but costs about 1/3 the price.
Timex is great. Love them. Only critique is that they tick loudly
These watches are made by citizen! Check the Fred Meyer eco-drive titanium!
Grand Salami on this review...I am a guy who allways carries...i.e. Firearm, tactical edged weapon, and of course a watch so He'll yea N.T.F. kept the watch reviews comin.
I've been a watch addict for as long as I have been a knife and gun addict, LOL. That explains why I am broke and homeless.....LOL.
Yeah my wife loves you. I'm a Seiko freak now
I'm a knife and watch addict myself.
If you're into insane lume, though not cheap, you can't beat traser.com trigalite
I'm male, but I identify as an ambulance. So, you should totally get out of my way when I drive, and failure to do so is offensive.
Nutn, you should check out the Weiss watch company, they make 100% American made watches. Designed and made in L.A.
Yes you are correct.I looked at his website again today and he has three movements offered.Three different movements all use Swiss parts but he also uses some of his own parts and they are all finished and assembled in his LA shop. His cases are made in house as well.
The GMT Master II is a nice watch, way out my price range. I would like to get into something heirloom quality though and Weiss might be the ticket. I like the clean look of the military style field watches.
No, it wouldn't really be an investment, really something nice, well built of good quality that has style and will last.
I have Citizens now, one is 18 years old, it is a dive watch and it has literally been to war and back with me and taken a beating and still works great except for the battery replacement every 3-4 years. The other two are Eco Drives and I also have a Hamilton pocket watch. The Hamilton is nice but it is more of a night stand display thing.
Yes, I agree the used market on Rolex's is the way to go and you seem to have done well but even a used Rolex is probably out of my price range. I'm more in the 500-1500 price range. I like to think that Weiss has a goal of making a fully U.S. made movement, which might be possible on a small scale.
Since when is Switzerland considered Scandinavian?
Do they have an app for this?
