I'm in the Navy JROTC and I usually have uniform inspection on Mondays or Tuesdays, P.T on Wednesdays and Thursdays , where we wore gold shits and NAVY blue shorts to do some training. On Fridays, We do knowledge or naval science. We take tests, activities, quizzes, lectures and presentations from other military branches.
I’m currently in my 3rd year of NJROTC and I wish I could’ve been in an MCJROTC because I plan on going into the corps (I’m a female). And our schedule is; Monday: PI (Personal Inspection), Tuesday and Wednesday: Knowledge, Thursday: Drill, and Friday: PT. We have recently dedicated Wednesdays as Mentor day. Where we mentor the newer cadets on knowledge or uniform inspections. Location: Uvalde,Texas
My school is the only school that has a Marine jrotc program in the whole state. (Alaska) every other jrotc program here in Alaska, including the other schools in the same town other than my high school, are all Air Force, army, or navy.
I was in Naval JROTC back in the 70s, considered a very "uncool" program in then uber liberal NY (borderline Marxist at this point). Always mocked and harassed even by some of the teachers. Still the best part of my HS experience followed by 8 years in the Navy. Sadly many HS are cutting JROTC courses, some due to a lack of funding others (as many in CA and NY) out of identity politics. Glad to see Texas bucking the trend.
@@Madman-bb2nc Dang. I live in Georgia too and in my county, all 5 high schools have a jrotc program 4 of the schools are army, the other is air force. I’m in army jrotc at my school. I wish states would bring back jrotc to schools that have cut it bc it really can teach you so many valuable skills that you need in life
Being born in Hawaii; I had no idea what JROTC was; or that it even existed. I was motivated to join because both my father and grandfather served in the military. In the National Guard and Navy. We moved to CA when my mother came down with cancer. I joined Army Jrotc for 2 years. When she passed; we moved to Texas. I joined MCJROTC for junior and senior year.
It's funny cause I'm in MCJROTC in allen, it's really fun, I don't remember being taught how to put a dress blue cover together, I got mine and learned on my own, even tho it's not hard to do I wish they taught us about it in academics

WOW! To the students, he is a GREAT leader! Be glad he isn't your real Drill Instructor though! He was my Senior Drill Instructor on Parris Island (Senior Drill Instructor Sgt McPhatter) and that man INVENTED ways to create physical pain! LOL! I wouldn't have any other Drill Instructor leading me either! GREAT STUFF!!
Laura Vinson ask ur counselor if theres enough people who wants to be in a jrotc program then the school may hire two instructors and start the program cuz the military will pay for the uniforms the awards etc

Your school has to have a JROTC program. If not you can join the Young Marines, Naval Sea Cadet Corps , Civil Air Patrol are Coast Guard Auxiliary.

My school has a Navy JROTC and i find it to be a good prerequisite to going into the Army after highschool.
