I was a sergeant first class US Army but with SgtMaj Fields Style of senior Non Com leadership. I would have love to be in the corps with his leadership style. Morale is important for soldiers, Marines, Sailors or airmen to do their job more effectively in garrison or in combat.
Thank you for sharing your beliefs and I agree. Morale is a critical component that, I believe, is often sacrificed by an organization's culture that does not fully support a leadership style that may appear different. Happy New Year and Semper Fi.

@@SgtMajMarioPFields You're most welcome. I served from Jul 76 until Jun 81 and only once saw a dark SgtMaj in the units I served with. I attended MSG school in 1979 with a future SgtMaj of the Marine Corps who was a SSgt at the time. 14th SMMC Alford McMichael. He was the most squared away Marine onboard MCDEC Quantico and everyone watched him in awe when they saw him.
