SgtMaj, I was connected to your channel through another source and wanted to thank you for doing what you are doing. I served from 2000-2006 with a Fallujah deployment and as of last year (thanks to my wife nagging) realized that I have PTSD. I am currently in a career that (maybe maybe not) frowns on PTSD but once I learned what it was (because in 06' the VA and USMC didnt help recognize that) I have sought help. I have been in counseling since Nov of last year and it is helping but it is going to be long journey to get me somewhat back to normal. Sgt Maj, you are awesome and your drive is amazing. We are enlisted Marines and that drive will never leave us. I will win this battle and will continue to drive forward. Thank you for sharing your struggles and success. We are humans and by the Grace of God are saved. This (weak human) battle is hard but it is worth it. I am thankful for what the Marines instilled in me (even though that journey led me to where I am I am not sad because it was for our country and the greater good Semper Fi). Fight the good fight, help those that cannot help themselves. As the DI's say, never Lie Cheat or Steal and NEVER give up on yourself. Sgt Maj, Take care of your family but also keep fighting the good fight!!! Thank you sir (respectfully) Semper Fidelis!!! YUT

26 years ago my ex-wife did this to me. I shared many of the symptoms Mary talked about and the same mental fog and inability to think straight. I managed to get away when my Ex took the poisoning to new levels and I escaped in my car and headed to my folks place, barely able to get out of the car and needed weeks of rest and recovery to begin functioning again. It was a solid year before I began to recover enough to feel somewhat normal. This kind of thing does happen to people far more often then folks care to admit, including the stupidity of the medical system which also refused to look carefully at my poisoning and left me on my own to navigate what was done to me.

I found this discussion too much about personality and not about content. I enjoy hearing about other people's stories but content makes the difference.

Mario, This is my first time watching your podcast..I was interested in Beth's outcome. I take it she is out of the Marines. I also hope the teenagers are doing well. When this news was initially released, it took me by a major surprise. During my time in the Marines, we had Staff Sergeants with 14-16 years trying to get promoted. The "insensitivity" that Beth mentioned, I don't believe the Marines do a good job at addressing this. There is this misconception and belief that whatever training a Marine received, they are qualified at addressing any problem..That is complete BS. We had many guys in my infantry company who by civilian standards or clinical standards would be considered alcoholics and suffering from depression.. The reality is "most Marines" view the Marine Corps as perfect, it can do no wrong, as an organization, no one will lie. Only a gullible individual is going to swallow that nonsense. We had guys getting into trouble when I was in; several had DUI incidents..One guy in our company ended paralyzed. One instructor at Infantry training school, Corporal instructor, had one DUI and was being kicked out. What no one is really willing to admit is that the Marine Corps adds unnecessary stress to the lives of its Marines. The bravado nonsense is suck it up, don't be a whussie, don't be a punk or bitch..I joined in 1984 and served as an Infantryman 0311..I had one fight but could have easily had several but stopped myself. There are certain "personalities" that should not be in the Marines or military. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for adding value to this episode sharing your perspectives. There were so many times I witnessed Marines and Sailors who needed help and didn't have the courage to ask for hit because they didn't believe they would be considered a Marine anymore. Complete BS. Greetings from an 11A5SLA in Taipei, Taiwan 🇹🇼 watching during evening chow! It’s amazing how military training and service can transform someone. Check out the Radar character in the TV 📺 show, “MASH,” about an Army field hospital in the Korean War. He’s a superb Clerk, but he’s what we might call a momma’s boy. He even has his teddy bear 🧸 with him! At the end of the series, he places the teddy bear in a time capsule. It’s brilliant script writing that shows how Radar was transformed by his Army experience and wartime service. This happens in real life, too!

Greetings from North Carolina. I love the reference to Radar from *M*A*S*H*! You reminded me of when it was time to go to bed in the 70s.😂 The balance between humor and the deep, personal changes that come with service, just like Radar’s journey from a "momma’s boy" to a seasoned soldier is critical. It’s those small yet powerful moments-like leaving his teddy bear behind-that highlight how service changes us not just physically but emotionally. Thanks for sharing and always adding value to each episode. Please stay safe out there, and hope chow was good! 💪

If you present yourself like you're not worth their time, then you shouldn't expect them to give you any. My mother tried for one year to convince me that my husband of 30 yrs & a 28 yr attorney was over medicating me-poisioning me. He was managing my medications for an autoimmune disease, adrenal disease & chronic Stage 3 Kidney Disease & was making my meals for almost two years..."helping me bc he loved me" I was in the urgent care or ER almost every month. I was getting more sick & became so ill I couldn't drive & slept 80% of the time for over a year. He joked about me falling asleep w a fork in my hand watching tv. His jokes & my physical symptoms lead me to realize he was raping me while I was asleep. Hence the infections & chronic problems w my kidneys... He then began to convince others I needed to go to a detox facility for 6 months bc I was "mentally ill" & "delusional".... I finally decided to take back my medical care & make my own meals- After a few weeks I wasn't asleep all of the time & I could drive again. I started asking questions about why I wasn't as ill as before. He then became very aggressive & intensified his gaslighting, threats of divorce & isolated me from our kids & family. He with held all of his income from me & told me I had to use my small, part time income for all of my needs... He eventually divorced me because I exposed how he asserted intentional physical control over me w the underlying knowledge he was the beneficiary of my $500,000 life insurance policy. And, bc I found evidence he used my personal ID to apply for & use multiple credit cards for hundreds of thousands of dollars in debts for his Luxery lifestyle. I also exposed his affair w my sister during the two years I was asleep all the time from his over medicating me. The symptoms of overmedicating me were clearly to keep me asleep to give him 100% freedom to do whatever he wanted. The symptoms of poisoning were very obvious and very scary! They were just like many who either reported poisoning and those who died of poisoning. My question is: How does someone like me, who's respected attorney husband does such heinous actions? Is there a support group for those who believe they are being poisoned?

Thank you for leaving a comment and asking a question. From my basic understanding, the two injured teenagers are recovering from their injuries and Mrs. Abbott is currently serving her jail sentence.

Hey SgtMaj? When you were a junior Marine did a SNCO ever make you their so-called personal assistant?

egocentric?? i don’t think you know how RARE it is to be noticed in the marine corps, more so be noticed by a sgtmaj, far from egocentric, more like motivational

Sorry it took me six years to subscribe to this channel as this was the first time I’ve seen Sergeant Major Field’s RUclips page. I am grateful to know we have such fine men and women standing tall for this nation 🇺🇸

Hey Mario the only thing I can't figure out is your 5'2 she's shorter. The only reason there isn't more action in this video as you haven't called the help at the store to get it off the top shelf. Love it 😂 probably the only couple at Walmart that shops in there has been tracked and traced by the security department 😂 this is what they would call efficiency these days sir sorry about that I'm secondhand hit myself trying for better thanks for the motivation❤
