And he ain't lying... Army recruiters really out there making promises for shit you'll never do.
Spent 4 years in the Army as a Multimedia Illustrator, recruiter said I was gonna be able to do graphic design work for the military and build skills as an artist/illustrator...
Instead, I spent 4 years pushing papers as an HR clerk in a hole under a mountain.🤣
(Not gonna lie, though... that HR gig was pretty sweet. Doing admin assistant work all day? Boring to a degree, but apparently I was one of the best at it. Too bad I couldn't reclass.)

Abram Carroll I think you are missing the point. Does McDonalds give their employees 100% free medical, a free living space, and free food? Factoring all those things in a McDonalds employees net worth value is less than the value of the 18 yo's job in the military. From what i understand the military never done 16 hours a day per person. Maybe a 12er.

I got home and acted like I WAS BRAND NEW. $475 every two weeks doesn't sound like much, but when you consider that's $950/month with ZERO obligation...no rent, no food, no utilities, no cable...the only thing I was responsible for truly was laundry and toiletries.
