One of my favorites! My husband volunteered for Vietnam. He even stayed to be a door gunner on a Huey gunship during Tet. He should have been home but he wanted that buzz. He passed a few years ago, tough as nails. I received all of his medals, with devices. He had been careless with them with his "Who cares" attitude so I wasn't able to account for everything. When I received them in the mail, I understood why he never talked about things. His buddies sure did. He, like so many, was a brave man. I heard over and over "He saved my life". I did find the after action reports and lots of photos. I understand why he kept things to himself but I'm so glad his friends didn't. To all of you out there, WELCOME HOME.
I had 2 uncles in Patton's 3rd Army. Both would tell you Patton loved his men yet was hard charging, and nobody ever served Under Patton but served WITH Patton.
Mikey I'm glad you like American values. I Remember A brit women that joined the air force. She was so cool I met at a bar one night. You could join the U.S. military for 5 years and become a citizen at the end of those 5 years. Not sure if they still do that. but glad you show real interest.
U.S. Marine Veteran. My dad was an Army WW II Veteran. 3 of my brothers were Navy Veterans and my son was an Army Veteran who served in Irag and Afghanistan.
This is one of my favorite songs. I served in the Army my brother Mariners our Dad Navy, me being the only female ever in my family to serve. So when this song came out it made me so excited. So glad you got the recommendation.
You might want to check out Lee Greenwood " God bless the USA ", " Green Beret Song ", ACDC " Thunderstruck " tribute to the military and finally and sadly the Seal of Honor " Angel Flight " the last Flight for a fallen soldier from the US Air force C130 planes to fly home to their final resting place. Thank You God bless.

A bit of trivia about Patton, he was named after his grandfather, George Patton Sr. His grandfather was killed in service of the Confederacy during the American Civil War. But Patton got his aggressive military tactics from his mentor a dear family friend John S. Mosby. When Patton was a boy, he was taught cavalry tactics by Mosby and Mosby would frequently take him horse back riding. Mosby taught him swordsmanship as well as horsemanship. Patton was a genius for war in his own right but he was also made for war from childhood. He was something else.

Patton believed that speed and daring saved lives in the long run…
So true!….So did Sherman. Patton studied Sherman’s tactics at West Point and obviously applied what he learned.
@@wingandhog lol As a Southener, I could have done without the comparison, but true nonetheless.
@@timcaldwell5241 ….. oops! 👊🏼

My favorite song to come from the tragedy of 9/11 is Alan Jackson “Where were you when the world stopped turning .” ❤
This song is great but the devil dog version is the best
