Hello Evelyn :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) I thought they would smell great too, and when I was dying them they smelled good, but when they dried they do not have much of a smell at all :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Thank you so much. I like that you air dried on your grassy yard. I tried dying and drying in my oven and I have a beautiful stack of paper that smells like burnt toast and yucky coffee. Thank you again
Hello Jessica :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) I have never tried to dry in the oven because it scares me, but I love to dry them on the lawn :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Black cherry is the MOST beautiful colour from Kool-Aid. Unfortunately this type of Kool-Aid and especially the black cherry flavour is very, very difficult to obtain in Canada. Whenever I hear someone is planning a trip to the States, I always ask them to keep an eye open for it. It's a bit embarrassing but a handspinner has to do what a handspinner has to do. Remember the show Breaking Bad? I always thinking "Breaking Dye" in my head whenever it's mentioned. You got some outstanding broken-dye results here, I would say. Wilton food dyes can be broken, too, and I believe you have some of those in your stash. Thanks for sharing this great new way to dye paper. I have always loved seeing how your leaves and such affect the results. I wish WE had sassafras. Oh how I would love to have fresh grape leaves, too! The pickled ones at the grocery store are not as nice and they are much harder to roll because they're fragile from being smushed together with the others and often thye're small, to boot. I hope you are all still safe as can be. Merci pour votre rapportage, et passez une très belle journée !
Hello La Margot :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) Isn't it funny that we have different things in different countries :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I enjoy dying paper. It is calming. I have never used Kool-aid. I just finished a batch with food coloring and Easter egg dying tablets from DT. I saw you do the tablets like "brushos" and had to try it. Will have to trty the Kool-aid next. Thank you for sharing your creativity and time.
Hello Patricia :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) Thank you for sharing your tip on ironing :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I did Kool Aid paper in the dead of winter and oven dried them. But oven drying sometimes gives a tint of brown even on very low temp. Your papers are so pretty and pastel. Perfect weather now so I will go outside and do more. Less mess outside also.
Hello CrQuilter :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) I bet the papers were cool with the brown tint, I have to admit brown is one of my favorite colors :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
What a wonderful idea. A great way to prep paper cheaply for kids crafting also. I will have a try just trying g to create some of those watercolor backgrounds. I have drooled over the paper pads. Thank you Miss Amy. I😊
this kind of "work" with papers and coloring intrigued me every time....... landing with each piece of paper be different tint........ simply but great tutorial....thks......
I like things like this. I had remembered doing this with kids I worked with and wanted to do it but I am having issues finding the kool aid. LOL. So I have been doing a lot of food dye coloring. Thanks for sharing this as I don't like tea dye papers as much as I do color dyed. The papers turn out so well. Thanks for sharing this. Peace to you and your loved ones.
Hello Amy your paper looks really great I love it I hope you and your Family are all good We are ok ! I have some cold thing am feeling ok Really cold here ! I was looking forward to getting out more Now we are all having to stay in again because some people cannot do the right thing and are getting sick, anyway I will just get some boxes out in my room I am sure I will find some thing new to work with LOL Take care Dear friend Big hugs Sonya
Hello Sonya :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) I am glad to hear you are all ok, we are doing well here too :) I hope you get rid of your cold soon :) I finished my drawer storage unit, and decided it was time to build my library wall, so big projects are taking up a lot of my time right now, but I am watching your videos at night, I am loving how the Gypsy book (books) are coming along :) I think you should keep them as two books, they are lovely :) I am sure you could "shop" your boxes and find something to play with :) I am removing book cases from my art room to use in the library, and I am finding things to play with but have to keep on track to get the library wall finished before I can play with them :) I am still only going out once a month, but I really miss going to the second hand store, I can't wait to be able to go op shop shopping again :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hello Dawn :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) Yes, it would be cool to use it from a spray bottle :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I am going to be dying paper this week! I loved making them with watered down acrylic paint that we did before and water colored papers so definitly need some of these.
I always wanted to see someone do this! The only kind of koolaid we found was cherry...so I can do one color. lol Ty so much for sharing. They all turned out lovely!
Hello Patty :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) Hopefully you find more colors, or you can use food color too :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Thank you for the sweet comment, and the suggestion :) You would use the rit dye the same way as this, just be careful not to get it on any of your furnishings because it really stains. I do not have any rit dye at this time to use, and I do not care for it much because of having to be a bit more careful with it so you do not dye something you do not want dyed, including your hands, lol :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Beautiful!! I've been looking for Cool-Aid for months. I can only find the juice boxes or the bottled thing you add to water. I can't wait for Easter to buy supplies!! Lol
Been watching a few of your old videos and I watch this one and I was wondering after you paint them or color of them but the cool down and let them dry with the leaves can you re-colorism in and put another leak from the side or something
Oh I love those!!!!--..what paper did you use? My problem is getting on the ground and bending over. Is there any other way to dry them besides oven? Thank you!!
Hello Pam :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) I too have a problem with the getting on the ground, so I try not to do too many at one time :) You could use any flat surface like your kitchen table and protect it first with a plastic table cloth :) This way you do not have to bend over :) Make sure your papers are not too wet so that the dye runs off the table, keep an eye on it at first to make sure the dye water does not run on the floor :) The paper I used was just a drawing pad from the Dollar Tree :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hello Penny :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) I hope you are able to find some, this is fun :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

Papers turned out very pretty. When I dye papers, instead of putting them under books I just iron them after they dry

I love how the leaves dried on the paper. It's time to go on a walk and get some fig leaves. The orange paper was my favorite.
Hello Khris :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I bet you could put the kool-aid in a spray bottle and use it that way. This was an awesome technique.
I put into a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Then poured it into a spray bottle. It works great.
Hello Dawn :) Thank you for the sweet comment :) Yes, it would be cool to use it from a spray bottle :) Stay Safe :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

Hello Miss Amy - Suggestion: I would really like to see how to dye paper with Rit dye. Powdered & liquid. Thank you. Blessings.
