When Dollar Tree has Easter egg colors out look for the package with a gold shimmer packet. I used all the colors separately, then made a shimmer mist out of the gold packet. It is so pretty and because it comes with the egg dies it feels like a free extra.
I just bought tracing paper at Ollies. I have a tiny, little bit of Easter egg dye left. I was planning on doing the papers that way. Now, I shall do both. I so enjoy your videos. They teach, inspire, motivate. You really are a wonderful teacher/ mentor.
Thank you for the sweet comment :) Ooh, I haven't dyed tracing paper except for tea dyed, I will have to do that :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Thank you for the sweet comment :) I hope you have fun with it :) I love to dry my papers outside :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Sudden thought. Place papers only half way into the magazine pages to hold them in place. The portion sticking out of the magazine will dry more quickly. Then the dry half could be clipped with a bulldog clip & tied up on a shower rod or outdoor branch. Pull wet portion loose to dry.
Thank you for the sweet comment :) Thank you for sharing your idea with us all I will have to give that a try next time :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I enjoy watching all the DIY'S u so patiently teach. The resulting products, ideas, how u incorporate them in ur journals are super great! While I decorate all kinds of cakes, I've used my food color paste 2 dye my papers. I can mix a large color variety. I've also used boiled red cabbbage, onion peels, blue berries, black berries, red or black beans & flowers 2 dye my papers. I might use doilies, pumpkin seeds (w/ some of the stringing stuff still on), dry beans, rice, strings, wax, sand, instant coffee bits, flowers, fresh leaves & grass, on top of the wet paper. Painter's tape can b used 2 block areas on dry paper b4 wetting them. I love the additional texture & dimension these make. One can use almost anything on top of the wet papers 2 make so many wonderful backgrounds. I dry my papers on cookie sheets 2 in the oven. BTW Amy, u have a pleasant soithing teaching voice. Thanks 4 all u do.🤗
Thank you for the sweet comment :) Thank you for sharing all of your tips with us all, you have some great ideas :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hi. Enjoyed your video. Might I suggest the next time you do a color to save just a smidge of the dry color from the packet of Kool aid and add it like you did the coffee and see what affect it would have on the paper? Im sure itll give star bursts of color. Itd be interesting to say the least. I really enjoyed all of your videos. Many helpful ideas that I have implemented in my crafting. Thanks.
Thank you for the sweet comment :) That is a good suggestion, I never thought of that :) Thank you for sharing your suggestion with us all :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Thank you for the sweet comment :) I forgot all about that, I just did easter color for marbled paper, I am going to have to get some more for that :) Thank you very much for the reminder :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I'm wondering if the white settlement in the colors is from the starch in the copy paper. Just a thought. *30 years in a paper mill, makes a mind think things like that lol
I don’t think we have Kool-aid over here. I’m going to have to have a hunt in the £/$ shop to see if there is something similar. Thank you again, for doing this brilliant series Amy 🤗🤗
I saw someone do yellow & it was very, very yellow. Maybe it was the vinegar or soda. Sudden thought. Place papers only half way into the magazine pages to hold them in place. The portion sticking out of the magazine will dry more quickly. Then the dry half could be clipped with a bulldog clip & layed in the sun or by heat.
Thank you for your sweet comment :) That is a good tip on drying, thank you for sharing it with us all :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hi Amy I have never seen Kool-Aid with that white in it I'm wondering if that is something that came off the paper I don't know it just an idea but I have had kool-aids sit for some time and never do that it could be a new formula but I wouldn't think they would put a binder in our kids Kool-Aid but who knows what they do to us nowadays. I may get some new packages of Kool-Aid and do a little experiment to see hope you're having a great week much love
Thank you for the sweet comment :) I have used kool aid for a long time too and never had this happen, you may be right it came out of the paper :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
We are on the same thought train. I just bought Koolaid a couple weeks ago on Amazon but haven't gotten to dying paper yet. I also Have been saving old egg coloring kits I find from 2nd hand stores and Luiza H. just did a video on that. I wanna try food coloring as well... Guess you guys are lighting a fire under me to say enough planning get it done. Did you see her paper salad video? I want to give it a try. Might be good for left over dyes and inks from these larger paper piece coloring sessions. Thanks for the videos you are awesome!
Thank you for the sweet comment :) It is funny how when you start thinking about doing something you see others thinking the same way :) My mom used to say "great minds think alike" lol :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Can I ask you do you stack them on top of each other to dry? I have little place to work in so just wondering how to dry them so it doesn’t take so long! Thank you
I usually dry my papers out on the lawn when it is a nice sunny day, or on the floor near, (not too close to) the wood stove and keep an eye on them :) You can dry them on top of each other it takes time and you do need to restack them every hour or so to let the air get between them and that way they do not stick to each other either. tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I have not mixed the colors because I use them up before I change colors. I will have to give that a try next time :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
I use regular copy paper. Sometimes I dye cardstock or odd papers I find, but mostly just plain copy paper :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Thank you for the sweet comment :) I haven't done that in a long time, thank you for sharing your idea with us all :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

I just spent a couple days coffee dyeing. 315 pages later I think ill wait a bit before doing more. This is on my list though. Thanks
Thank you for the sweet comment :) Wow, that is a lot of paper, it is fun but it does get tiring :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

Try dry or wet string ( or thread) ontop of the wet papers and leave until dry, often this will give you a pattern.

You have some techniques I haven't seen before but She did a couple of those on her first run of this series. What color do the beans make?
Really enjoyed watching and seeing the difference in the papers. Thanks so much. Never would have thought to put in magazines.
Thank you for the sweet comment :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Thank you so much for sharing,

I think you could also tea dye with instant tea powder just like the instant coffee. 💜🐞

Not only does it stain you hands, but is a popular hair dye for Halloween. By using a vinegar rinse helps sets it for a more lasting results.
Thank you for the sweet comment :) My hair is gray enough that it would probably show up, lol :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Enjoyed seeing. P. S. Don't forget Easter Egg dye for color burst! I enjoyed doing that one! Thank you for sharing your creativity and time.

Do you have tye dye for shirts?
I think the white in your bottle may be from the paper binders.
Others have said the same thing so I think you may all be right :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

Have you mixed any of the leftover dyes such as blue/green for turquois, or yellow/green for chartreuse
I have not mixed the colors because I use them up before I change colors. I will have to give that a try next time :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy

Have you tried wading up a sheet, dye, dry then open and see what happens
Just like tie-die! Could be amazing!
@@2learn4ever I think I will try but not until I have a sunny day.
Thank you for the sweet comment :) I haven't done that in a long time, thank you for sharing your idea with us all :) tfw, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
