Let me know what's your favorite stop motion character? :) For me, it's probably ED-209 from Robocop, in terms of design. And as for realism of animation, I would say: the dragon from Dragonslayer, Pegasus from Clash of the Titans and Kali from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
hey bro i have seen all your videos by that only i got more interest on animation and vfx presently i'm doing vfx course and your doing great job............ THANKS TO THAT..
3D printing in stop motion could be argued to be merely a photography form of CG. Laika uses 3D printing from computer models quite extensively. Recent movies from Paranorman onwards: so it's almost CG, just photographed tactile CG, they even use thorough cg post production for set extensions and cleaning 3D printed facial expressions on models (as different faces for expressions and lip sync are snapped on to heads).
Laika does use 3D printing in their modelmaking and mouth replacements but still uses traditional stop-motion techniques to animate. Saying its almost CG is a little inaccurate. The animation feels CG because it's shot on ones and therefore feels very smooth and similar to 3D animation but the animators employed by Laika are very talented stop-motion artists merely using 3D printing technology as a tool for enhancing their model-making process.
@@CapoeiraTube if we're literally using the term computer generated, for the literal term, the characters are rigged then have each face blendshape printed (with copies for other animators working on scenes with the same character simultaneously). And THEN CG is copiously employed to remove not only the edges of each computer modelled face replacement but in list as well, note the green screen composites required in this footage alone. So at pre production characters are rigged and animated then printed as separate shapes, then in post it's also composited and altered. Henry Selick or Ray Harryhausen this ain't. Even home printed paper raft could be classed as CG, for how was it generated after all.
@@AlexCarby I am not really understanding your point here? Laika has giant teams of people handcrafting models, props and sets and beside the lipsync, the entirety of the character animation and performance is done in-camera, straight ahead, frame by frame using traditional stop-motion techniques. Selick used plenty of green screen in his features and even Harryhausen in his time relied on rear projections to composite his work with live action footage. CG and technology, in general, are great tools to help with pre-viz and post-production and stop-motion animators have always used, replacement animation and other tools available to them to make the process easier but CG is far from replacing the amazing animation and acting talents of stop-motion animators and Laika employs the best of them. Calling Laika's work photographed CG is quite harsh, don't you think?
Could you please make a video about the most popular and used softwares in the gaming industry like the one you made about the VFX industry, since the softwares used in gaming vary more than the ones used in VFX, and thank you for your amazing videos!
8:11 and that's why the CGI on Jurassic Park 1 still often looks more convincing than the CGI of Jurassic World. The modern CGI animators take it too far.. You see the T-Rex movement on Jurassic World Lost Kingdom and it looks off because the animation is too exaggerated.. the T-Rex feels weightless and unrealistic. (check this clip at 1:10 ruclips.net/video/an9Zfn3IZCY/видео.html ) notice how crazy this animation is.. like if the animator is flexing his skills by overdoing everything.. Now compare it to the classic T-Rex breaking the fence on Jurassic Park original.. that T-Rex felt grounded in the world.. slow and heavy movement.. it's head felt heavy and moved with momentum. That was the talent of stop motion animators with experience dealing with physical objects... Digital animators these days don't get it.
Do you know... you talk the same way as Niki Lauda. Thanks for the video, good info, i always admire the hard work behind a StopMotion film, good to know how they mix StopMotion into 3D design for Jurassic Park
There is no such thing as "private" editing software. As far as I know, the most often used editing software on big movies is: Avid, Lightworks and Adobe Premiere.

Yes, the ED-209 from Robocop too, but no when cry in the stairs
Isle of the Dogs and Kubo were amazing those are my favourites
Large Marge, Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Wallace From Wallace and Grommit
Excellent Video
My favorite use of stop motion is the AT-ATs and the AT-STs use in Star Wars.
I want to use some stop motion VFX in my films in the future.
Zachary Payne same
Zachary Payne same
Skeleton battle in Jason and the Argonauts, greatest VFX group fight ever. Better than any CGI in my opinion
Okay grandpa
Thank you for using your own voice! :D Makes the video so much better - and thanks for the insight! :)
You're absolutely right. Thanks geek for clearing my doubts.
I like the way you explain about vfx in movies by your videos I am inspired to learn the vfx course thanks to you and keep rocking 😁😎
I really love you’re videos👍👍
CGI and Stopmotion shouldn’t compete with each other they should both be used to supplement each other.
Youre finally back!!!! 😎
I would love Jurassic Park with stop motion

Really very nice 👍 ❤
I love stop motion. Well all the affects are CGI as for today
thank you for the information

Laika is also using CG in their films, although they don't really say to what extent. I saw some of Kubo's shots in Pixar's Renderman demo.
Very well said and produced! Good job!
You're amazing ❤️
Incredible
Those armatures from Kineticarmatures

I'll think about it. Although game industry is not really my domain. Thanks for visiting the channel :)
How do you start a career in this? What degree or training do I need?
Where does the animation of the giant sloth comes from?
Name of the song/score at 8:20?
I must confess i love your channel, i has answered a lot of my questions.. Please what VFX school can you recommend?

My favorite is Cain in Robocop 2.
EXCELLENT OVERVIEW!!
Starship troopers is my favorite movie
Hey, awesome video, but i would definitely recommend you give some credit to some of the smaller channels you took video from.

I did not know that :)
Nobody is gonna talk about terminator
for armature i would use playdoh and paper clips.
Are you gonna do a kong33 video?
Tim Burton still use stop-motion vfx in his films sometimes.
I love Vfx
Can you tell me background music you use in your videos.
The music is from a software called Filmstro.
@@VFXGeeki love your videos very much😊😊. I just wanted to know, from where did you get all of your background music. For all videos.
@@stubblestudios9446 The music is made with Filmstro :) Try it.

4:05 That’s just showing off.
Technically this would be SFX not VFX
