This was such a smart approach to the demo. Give u a actual taste of whats to come. Instead of just doing the 1st chapter. Which almost all farm games start off slow. So new players to the genre it can make it seek like the game will always be slow. Great call
This game has so many nice quality of life features i wish the regular Story of Seasons games would implement. I love the art style, how friends can help you, and the decorating looks better here than it does in PoOT.
People are upset because there is still no romance/marriage system in this game. Ofc there is not. Nobita and his friends are canonicaly 5th grade schooler. It would be so weird if they implement that feature. Nobita and Doraemon franchise is always focus on friendship (sure Nobita has a crush on Shizuka, but that's just it. The focus is still their friendship). That's also what happened in this game. Not everything should have romance system. If people really can't play a game that has no romance system, then this is not for you. Just wait for the next SoS series with original character and RF or play other game that has those feature. There is plenty of it.
So for this game, I'm so glad they really improve the QoL from the first game. When they said they listen to the player feedbacks from the first game, they were not lying. I can't wait for the full release. Also I'm agree with you, I hope they don't really make anything super cheap in this game. Maybe make it in the middle. I always love collecting money and become rich in every SoS game 😂
People rage over this is so mess up. They want children to get married now? Those fans are insane.
I never knew about Doraemon before the first game, but I enjoyed the game so much that I really like the character now. I wish he was the main character but just having him follow you and help you is pretty cool. Will definitely be buying this because of that feature alone.
wow. doraemon is literally my "childhood friend". you should watch their movie. Stand By Me 1 and 2.

Really appreciate the decoration mode. I feel like this should be a staple for every Story of Seasons titles, so that you don't have to spend days just for decorating your farm.

It's great that they listened to the feedback. The first Doraemon SOS was excellent in terms of visuals, I was really captivated playing the first game but many features were just too troublesome so I couldn't continue playing. Now I'm looking forward to the sequel since they addressed problems the player found exactly the ones you pointed out in the video. Excited!

All the little things like not seeing how much money you get from shipping stuff and the really grindy start with small backpack and instant full if you pick up 2 things. Had to grind a few ingame days for an upgrade and wished for an extra tool box =) and now THIS gets true in the 2nd one 🤩
Cant believe all of the QoL changes you showed! I am SO hyped about the release now!! It looks soooo beautiful and I really wanted to go all out on the 1st game, but I guess Im gonna wait for the 2nd one now, really cant wait!! Thanks again Josh ^o^

The art style still looks amazing from the first game and the quality of life improvements are much appreciated. Glad the developers listen to their players, shows how much they care~
I am soooo excited for this!! I love Doraemon and the first game is one of the reasons I bought a switch. Sadly I couldn't really finish the first game because of its issues. It also became monotonous so fast for me because the villagers felt so lifeless. Seeing Nobita's friends actually help out with the farming and activities makes me so happy! ❤️
My favorite feature in Friends of Mineral Town was the harvest sprites helping you water crops and feed animals. It’d be awesome if your spouse and kids could also do the same. Being able to hire farmhands would be so cool too.
There were sprites in the first game that could help you just like in Friends of Mineral Town! They were unlocked pretty late though. I think they could come back!
This looks _so_ cute! Adorable art style :) and I'm glad it's coming to PC - too often adorably cute games like this get restricted to the Switch or other consoles, and I don't own any so I'm always missing out ... which sucks cos these are my _favourite_ types of games!
Kind of funny really, considering the first game I ever played was the original DOOM pretty much as soon as it was first released, and I've been an avid first-person shooter gamer since. But more recently I've completely switched over to more relaxed, life-sim, rpg and more storyline driven games. Maybe it's my age catching up with me? I know I don't have the reaction times in shooters that I used to have. I dunno, but yeah - Story of Seasons, My Time at Portia, pretty much any farming sim are my jam now! 😄
I haven't played Doraemon Story of Seasons yet, but I'm so excited that the demo is out. I love the series and also Doraemon as well. It's been one of my favourite series since I was a little boy. Looking up for this game demo, it's also gonna more exciting when the full version is released on November. More cutscenes and also events from all villagers, which is one of my attraction towards this game 😍😍😍...
That follower system need to be implemented in all SoS games from now on, friendship in these games need to move beyond just cutscenes and gifts

Great video! Looks great. I'm much more excited about it than I am about Harvestella. Loved the first game and the new QoL stuff is great, especially the separated tools in the inventory.
I might try it later on steam (if I can resist playing more 7 days to die that is) I'd rather try the switch demo but its not up on the Australian eshop yet
The Switch demo is taking so long to show up, I now wonder if it'll even come out of Japan? But no matter what, I'm sure you'll enjoy the game if you loved the first one! 😄

Josh, thank you SO much for this. I was a HUGE fan of the first game, and this video has raised my expectations for the second. I too hope they haven't made upgrades too cheap. I didn't mind the grind requirement in the first game. This may seem picky, but I wish they would provide the option for a 12-hour clock. I still get confused with the time sometimes when playing the original. And for shipping, I'd really like the ability to load stuff into the shipping box directly, without having to open a menu. Is there a confirmation prompt for when you eat something? I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally eaten something I wanted to ship. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
Omg I also kept eating things by accident in the first game! There's no confirmation prompt unfortunately, but you have to press a button to switch between your tools and consumables since your bags are split, so I think it's less likely to happen!
I also believe there was a way to ship things without opening the box in the first game. I think you just needed to have the item selected and press A.
havent got the demo as I only have switch and live in Australia. I just recently bought the old game to play after SOS Pioneers. I am glad you have told me that they fixed the upgrade feature. that 30 copper to upgrade I got 2 tools upgraded and then quit it was too long to finish it.
SO excited for this game! Not only the quality of life improvements, but also having Nobi's friends on the farm!!

Looks very promising! Still waiting for nintnedo western demo release.
First year on first game was grind fest progress was slow in Winter. I had to look up how to trigger cutscenes in order to progress main story. Lack of Romance candidates doesn't bother me as kids were searching a way to go home. I hardly decorated the farm because took a long time to collect resources and hope the carpenter wasn't on his day off. I'm almost tempted to the second game because QoL improvements. I'll be sure to check the demo on Steam. The demo of Aka is out for Next fest please check it. I enjoyed playing although short and there are some emotional heart breaking flashbacks and bugs.
Just like with the first game i love the art style wish the main line story of seasons would use it or something similar. It is so highly detailed. I love it. Sadly i am not the biggest Doraemon fan and because it has the characters from the show there is no romance and marriage which i miss.
Literally started playing the first one two days ago, and I think I’m finally done with the intro portion. I was asked to name my farm a few minutes ago, but I had to put it down to watch your demo review. Not sure if I dislike or appreciate the intro, but what I do know is, I’m excited to play the game. Does anyone know if there’s an end to the game? I’ve never played any story of seasons/ harvest moon games.

I love the fact that your friends help you. It would be great to have your spouse or kids help you in other store of seasons. Also, do you need to finish the first game to know what’s happening in this game?

The story is unrelated so there's no need to play the first game to understand.
Game is looking pretty good, a lot more polished than the latest main series SoS.
Will definitely play it, first game lost me on the long ass introduction but I won't skip this one

Hmm, I was intrigued by the first game, but ultimately didn't purchase it because of some of the things that you mentioned. I think this one would suit me better 😍 Thank you for the review of the demo! One question...do you need to have played the first game to understand the story/gameplay in this one?

I'm so happy to hear K+M works well with this demo! I still haven't gotten around to playing the first one, the long intro cut scene still puts me off. Would you recommend still playing it before this one? Or just wait for this to release since there seems to be a lot of QoL updates? Kind of like going back to Portia after playing Sandrock, it's still a fun game, but I miss those QoL updates.
The game is pretty long, it took me about 45 hours to finish the main story. If you think you have time to finish it before the second one, I say go for it!
Otherwise yeah, it's pretty much like the Portia/Sandrock situation. It's a great game, but you don't need to play the first one to understand the other, and the QoL changes are pretty big.

I couldn't get past the lack of quality of life features in the first game so I didn't play as much of it as I would have liked. I'm definitely going to try the demo!
I loved the first game and didn't really have anything that annoyed me about it. But I'm glad they listened to the community for this upcoming one, that's what keeps franchises popular and keeps people wanting new games. I hope this one does a lot better than the first one, I'd love for them to make more games in the future.
the game is good, but the only concern I have is I'm playing it on my steam deck and the mouse cursor is visible and needed to put in the corner of the screen .I might missed the setting to turn the cursor off or they didn't thought about it

The stories don't seem to be really connected! Noby and his friends get on a spaceship, they land on this planet and meet new characters there. But I'd still recommend finishing the first one though, otherwise it might be hard to go back!

It's as pretty as the original, but I found the first one so tedious I'll wait on reviews for the full game of this one, I think. We'll have plenty of SoS and RF to play next year anyway, so I'm looking forward to those.
I really liked story of seasons pioneers of olive town..is this one good compared to that one?
Finally took the time to try out the demo, and I'm still cautious after the failure that was the first one. Even used, that game cost me a lot of money for a whole lot of bugs, dull and SLOWWWWW. Pretty music, but that was not enough to keep me invested. To make a sequel...or is it a soft reboot?...because it really feels like whoever SHOULD have been in charge of the original game finally took over and made it how it should originally have been made, seems like someone's petty revenge project, a la, "LEMME SHOW YA HOW THIS IS DONE!!!" kind of thing. On the other hand, it could be damage control to try to win Bokumono fans back over - and if that's the case, I truly appreciate the effort, and might support it if this game actually turns out to be playable. Seems like almost the same layout and everything, so I'm wary. It was nice to finally have English in the demo. The Japanese copies of the original version here in Japan did NOT come with English, even with the Switch set to English, so there were all the twee waste of dialogue formalities to have to constantly listen to and read, which become grating when you already had so much other pointless dialogue to scroll through. So.....I don't know. I'm going to wait and see what other playthroughs look and feel like before I spend another cent on a Doraemon installment. It was just too much of a disappointment the first time around.
Eh moving crops system is like mod Stardew valley pot that can move crops, but this better because it was Doraemon tool. Everything is possible with out Doraemon tool and pouch 🤭
I loved the setting and story of the first one but I found it pretty slow and clunky. Hoping this one borrows some of the pacing from PoOT

Like an old children's book.Pretty and nostalgic. I like that so much better than these harsh angles of other games. Animals Crossing games are ugly in my opinion.

I think it's a good twist since you will focus more on your friendships rather than just dating. Plus Shizuka and Nobita are pretty much canon so there wouldn't be much choice. (And the fact that they are minors)

I’m a massive hm/sos but I avoided the other one Because I don’t know what doreamon is not big into the Japanee stuff (yes I know harvest moon is made in Japan ) that’s fine it doesn’t feel like an anomie. Looks cool for people Into that but think I’m gonna pass
No romantic relationships feels like some people for whatever reason didn't like the same sex options and so the game makers avoidet that so the game can be sold to a wider audience.

What I like is the idea that getting married and having children is not one of the most important things in life.
I somehow didn't like it in the other games. And it's more accurate for children to be with friends than doing the real life adult stuff.
There's no romantic relationship in Doraemon story of seasons because you play as Nobita, which is a child.
My life is already boring and sh1tty as it is, why would I pay to play this??? Other people's life must be so great.
