      my main question is : is it possible, even with the tools that seems well placed on the camshaft, to fail the timing,?

    Thanks for this video. I have same issue with the timing and want to confirm fews thing, if you can answer.
    1) When the first piston is fully up then do I need to lock the crank??
    2) Or first piston bring up fully then apply the crank locking tool???
    Thanks

    • @bimmerhacks
      @bimmerhacks  6 месяцев назад +1

      When first piston comes up with other 3 pistons in same position u must lock the crank. That's the pistons position in 90 degree.
      Feel free to ask any minute details.

      I have tried this method but car is not starting plz can you confirm where I'm making a mistake.
      1) I have brought up the first piston up fully up, second piston and third pistion was down and fourth piston was fully up align with one piston. Then I have locked the crank.
      Have I done correct??

    • @bimmerhacks
      @bimmerhacks  6 месяцев назад

      @3.littlegirlzz WRONG!!!! ALL THE PISTONS MUST BE IN SAME HEIGHT. You have to lock the crank when the first piston comes up and make same level with other 3 pistons- Same level. Did you understand?

    Firstly thanks for the nice video. Two questions please, first why didn't you attach the cam timing tools at the begining like I have seen on other videos?, and 2 do you need to drain the oil? And sorry what thread patter are the new vanos bolts plz

    • @bimmerhacks
      @bimmerhacks  6 месяцев назад

      1. My VANOS timing was totally out
      , you can see how engine sounds like if u check the link in comment when your timing is 180 degree out. The timing has to be locked when first piston comes up, I did the opposite on my first try :p
      2. No need to drain oil. I am collecting the pieces of my chain guide from oil filter.

      @@RBDET25 it's simple as shown in my video. Lock the crank as per the procedure shown and use the timing tool properly. I thought timing was a tough job but it turned to be simple if you follow the procedure step by step

      See my description. I bought the cheapest tool and it was fitting properly. Always read my description as I will be updating things that I missed to mention in the video. Do the vanos pulleys need to be lined up, or can they be put on any position.

    • @bimmerhacks
      @bimmerhacks  2 месяца назад

      Vanos sprocket can be at any position but make sure the chain is free enough in the top chain guide side as demonstrated in my video when you tighten the vanos sprocket. Once you tighten the spring tensioner the chain will get tightened and the it will show no lag on the chain guide side.

      Make sure the top and the left and right sides are flat part on the CAM. U CAN USE THE SPANNER to adjust the CAM as in video
