Your demo install in this video is exactly how not to install a camera. Been doing this work for 20 years and stuff like this is what gives trunk slammers and DIYers the wrong ideas about the right and wrong ways of doing things. These cameras all come with a back box made specifically for them. USE IT. Never have the wire exposed for ANY reason. If the wire can be easily cut, then it defeats the purpose. And if you say, "well it's mounted 10 ft off the ground" you're underestimating the person who wants to rob your house. The camera should be mounted to it's own box and secured with security screws. And if you can't drill a hole in the back of the box to run the wire into your house then you need to use real conduit to the box. Not that cheap plastic innerduct that's made for running fiber optic cables in ceilings. That stuff gets cut just as easily as the wire does. No protection. There's literally nothing you did in that demo install that would pass inspection in my company. People might read this and think I'm being awfully hard on you but they don't understand you're teaching bad habits and shotty practices. I constantly find myself having to rip crap like this out to reinstall equipment correctly and it gets old fast.

Use proper watertight connectors outside . Use heat shrink around wires . Not electric tape . Next time you open and need to unwrap, it will be covered in sticky residue . Water tight box connectors are 3 dollars Heat shrink is too cheap to list here

hey. can you cut the heads off the compressed cable to put through small hole in the wall then re attach or is that only add the heads on the un compressed cable? thanks
Can you use those BNC adaptors on regular BNC cabling if I cut the exsiting BNC end of the cable off? I want to run the cable through a conduit for external use and the BNC Male end is too large for my conduit so I was hope to cut the cable and use one of these adaptor to reattach a BNC male to the cable.

I don"t understand what you're talking about so I had to mute the video,Instruction are good but , boy your accent is worst than mine,I thought I am the worst english speaker ever.Just try to speak clear, finish the words don.t merge them into eachother,play the tape and listen to yourself see if sounds ok. Personally I would lean towards self amalgamating tape for all the reasons you mention, doesn't sticky residue and is properly watertight.
