There’s still tons of motion blur horizontally. Walking towards camera vertically doesnt show how much motion there still is in the scene. This needs to be compared with Dahua WizColor and not their last gen cams. If you’re trying to capture license plates only, IR is still the best method. No way these new color cameras from Unv and Dahua will capture license plates on a moving car in complete darkness. Videos from both companies only show static scenes with a single moving subject. Nonetheless, these new cameras from both companies would be good spotter cameras in urban areas with ambient lighting.

IR is indeed better for tasks requiring clear captures since IR doesn’t rely on ambient light and eliminates color noise, making it more effective in darkness. However, these cameras excel at giving a fuller picture with color like in urban settings. It’s all about finding the right tool for your project-whether it’s surveillance with clarity in pitch-black conditions or broader visibility with color detail in low-light environments. There’s no perfect solution for every scenario, but understanding each camera’s strength will help you get the best results.
