This is safe but you need to be cautious and handle with care. It can work for a year or two. I have devised another method which is safer and longer lasting. Please see in this video link. ruclips.net/video/cDqIulcrD8M/видео.html
In a 5m distance you can use just a straight csblr direct from the power supply to the camera. Unless the length is beyond 100m that you will need to do a localised power supply.
hi, i need answers right now so i have power supply similar from yours but for 4 analog cameras so it has 4 inputs but the first two indicator led wont light up when on , why? because i check the fused and its not busted
You need 12v dc power to power up the cameras and so its a must to use power supply to your cameras, it may not necessarily be this particular one but any source of 12v dc
@@Tech_Inside_Out Thanks Eng. sorry Eng. i am a beginner in CCTV installation, so i saw people using power addapters came with CCTV kit and i also saw you using extra power supply. Eng. is there a difference?
Hi I know that you said that each camera should have it's own channel. I was sold a DVR with 4 cameras and they provided me with a power supply with 3 channels. Can I assume that at least 2 cameras can be connected to 1 channel on the power supply?
When you do that it would work, but that will overload the fuse on which those two cameras will be on. The effect will not be immediate, it would take some time.
We normally put this system on an emergency power supply. I do build such systems by putting together various parts, i will be doing video to cover such areas in the near future
There is a compliance standard called ONVIF that you always have to check for whenever you intend to combine cctv systems. Cctv systems that are Onvif compliant can be combined even when the systems are from different manufacturers. Otherwise, there is nothing you can do to solve incompatibility especially when the systems are not compliant to Onvif.
Oso if i have 8 cameras that need to be connceted to the power supply ,then DVR and PS should be close to each other for the flexibility of connection ,right?
Not necessarily, but it is easier to have the two cloer to each other. When you are using Siamese cable, it would be easier to have the Power supply and the DVR close to each other for easier wiring. If you are using a coaxial cable + power cable, you may be able to have the power supply and the DVR at separate locations.
I have same unit of power supply box but when all the eight cameras are connected its start beeping then 3 out of the 8 will show not stable, what could possibly be the cause?
The main power unit that takes from the main and distribute to the 9 pairs might be faulty, thus delivering less than its supply capability. It could be due to any other thing. I will recommend you change the power supply unit.
hello sir... good day... can i used the free dc power splitter adapter to power up the camera for supply with 50meters? can it work? thanks in advance.. :P
Hi TIS, have you ever tried connecting the NVR or router (i.e. devices rated at 12 volts DC) to the ports provided for the AHD cameras on the power distribution unit? Thanks for your excellent videos😊
i haven't come across 3mvision before, but am pretty sure the steps won't be much different from other machines. You can watch this video, it can provide some guidance ruclips.net/video/S0n6Y45g18A/видео.html

Best direct explanation about conncetion of the CCTV camera power supply and straight to the point..Thank you

Great explanation bro much love what about connecting the other part
Thanks for the compliment. Which other part are you referring to please.
Thank you so much for your tutorials. Will surely link up with you oneday.
You are most welcome. Expect more videos on this channel.
This was very helpful thank you, but is this safe? and how long do you think this power supply can keep working for a 24/7 job camera?

Do you have a video of wiring up the power board to the mains please I’m new to this and would like to learn how to wire to the mains
I don't have a video on that. But it is basically live, neutral and earth. Red cable to live, black or blue to neutral and yellow/green to earth.
HI TIS my name is Germain and I want to polish my knowledge about cctv installation..
Hello Germain, please contact me by email @ benedict.gborgblorvor@gmail.com and lets take it up from there.
What if the power supply is far from the CCTV like 5meters? How do I extend?
In a 5m distance you can use just a straight csblr direct from the power supply to the camera. Unless the length is beyond 100m that you will need to do a localised power supply.
Pls can you explain further?
1 straight cable direct from the power box or main power supply?@@Tech_Inside_Out

hi nice tutorial. how about how to fix short circuited camera
When the camera gets short circuited, there is nothing much you can do about it, unless the manufacturer.
Do you have any videos on back up battery installation for cctv dvr or nvr decoder?
No, please
@@Tech_Inside_Out thanks hope you do one for us soon

Yes, it is possible

Good day, What gauge of wire should I use to connect my camera to a CCTV Power Supply unit?
Hi Luciano,
The recommendation is a pair of 18 gauge wires
Do you think it's possible to make a hole in the metal box, putting a pc fan and power it from the box? for more airflow when it's hot
Putting a fan into it will put "burden" on the system thereby causing a gradual failure.
@@Tech_Inside_Out oh ok, got it, thx :)

bro, what is the maximum advisable length of siamese cable you can use to power cctv camera with centralized power supply?

Hey Tis, can you use 1 power output for 2 cameras?
Hello,
Yes, you can but that would be an overload on that particular bridge. The best is a one on one
Please what is the size of the cable for the connections
2.5mm cables

There are specific models that have that facility
what will happen if the fuse is busted?
The camera connected to that point will go off
